Peaceful and relaxing

this site was so quiet and peaceful. the wooded areas around the site are ideal for dog walks with an area where you can let them off the lead. The wardens are very helpful and friendly. This is in a great location to make a base for the moors or the coast with many attractions within easy reach.  A toilet/shower block would be a nice addition in the future but dont let this stop you from staying here.

One of our favourites

We love this site and have stayed quite a number of times.  It is a great spot for dog walkers and is ideally situated to explore both coast and moors. The current wardens are doing a great job and there are marked improvements to the site since we last visited.

Peaceful even when full

North Yorkshire Moors Caravan Club Site (or Low Moor to us older members) is a bit off the beaten track but handy for the local sites of interest with plenty of peaceful walks in fairly natural surroundings. (I would say wild countryside but Scotland takes that honour for me) The site Nestle's in woodland which protects it from the worst winds (which are a regular feature of the north York's Moors). The site hasn't got a toilet block but who needs one with the kit provided in modern caravans and motorhomes. The wardens are friendly and very helpful and keep the site looking good. There's plenty of wildlife with regular visits from rabbits and grey squirrels which kept our dog active. Overall a good site to use as a base for the north York's Moors and Coast. Plenty to do and see.

Peaceful break

Second visit in 12 months. Great spot for a peaceful break and ideally located for the heritage coast. If you like North Yorkshire it's a great spot to be be based. Will be back next year.

Sunny!!

Lovely site. The wardens were very helpful. Shame there is no toilet block. The motorhome service point was very easy to access. Will visit again!!

Great quiet spot

Stayed here for the 1st time for 3 nights - good location for Whitby & robin hoods bay...lovely walk to falling Foss, unfortunately we never got chance to sample the cafe! The site is REALLY quiet which was ace but only downside is lack of toilet block/showers ...but we knew that before we booked!

Lovely site

Nice site in a lovely location, handy for Whitby. Would be nice to have had directions from more than one direction though!

Our kind of site :-)

Perfect site for our tastes - clean and tidy (what CC site isn't?), friendly and helpful wardens, in a superbly beautiful and peaceful setting with clear and accurate directions, whilst situated within an easy drive of Whitby and many local features of great beauty. Pitches on the generous side for CC and not over-regimented as with some other CC sites. We only had time for a short stay but has been logged in our favourites book - the only reason to remove one tick from facilities and families is the lack of toilet block and possibly not the ideal site for young families needing lots of entertainment so in recognition of those thoughts only gave 4 - if we were just thinking of ourselves I'd happily award 5 across the board as it's just the way we like it.

Lovely site

Good directions to the site, well signposted and excellent approach road. Greeted by lovely friendly warden, all wardens extremely sociable. The bird life was a great to watch and even had a woodpecker though he was soon ousted by the comical squirrels, so entertaining ! Lots of pretty plants around the camp a pleasure to walk around the site, also lovely dog walks. Falling Foss is a must to visit and the Hermitage , the moors are just a wonderful place lots of places to visit.

Excellent Site

Excellent site in a beautiful and tranquil location ideally located for the North York Moors and coast. A really warm welcome from the wardens who were constantly working hard to maintain high standards throughout the site. The site had suffered recently from adverse weather which made their task more difficult. Lots to do in the area and can recommend a visit to the tea rooms at Falling Foss which can be a short and very scenic circular walk from the site. Details of this and other walks are available in the information hut. We will certainly be returning.
