Broad smiles at the Broads Caravan Club site

A very level site with easy access to the pitches via a one-way traffic system. The Wardens were very friendly, polite and helpful and kept the site very clean and tidy. The dog walk is only a small pathway but with the river and it's footpaths just a couple of hundred yards away that wasn't an issue. The serviced pitch had water, electric and drainage and also TV so everything you need. The pitches are VERY hard with a 3 inch layer of granite chippings - quite rough and sharp in places - and a very solid base beneath. Metal/rock pegs are a must! Being a dog owner we liked the description of the site and we were not disappointed, but the only down side was the number of dogs...SIX in one van plus three adults. Quite noisy but not a persistent problem. Apparently the CC does not have a policy on how many dogs you can take with you. We had a good week here and if we have any energy left after three weeks in Devon and Cornwall and three more weeks in Yorkshire we may well go back. We found recycling not too much of a problem: a large bin for glass - lot of wine bottles - then a couple of bins for mixed recycling then general waste bins.

Recycling

Nice site, apart from 'ageing' toilet block, clean but need a spruce up, the wardens very friendly, however dissapointed to not find re-cycling bins, have got used to finding them on most sites, seperated waste to take round to bins, only to find that only seperated bin was for glass.

Would I go back?

In truth probably not. That's not to criticise the site, but just not a site I'll return to, preferring the north Norfolk coast. If you want the broads and all it offers its great, if not you need to travel to other places. The toilet block is starting to show its age, but clean as all ways. The site is nice and level although feels a little regimented. The wardens are great, helpful and welcoming

Perfect for a peaceful break.

This was our first stay at a Club Site only having previously stayed at a CL. The site is so clean, neat and tidy and the Staff could not do enough for you. There is not a huge amount to do but there is a Pub, Cafe and Shop and a beautiful walk by the River but its a long way from the High St. Horning, Wroxham etc are a short drive away if you need a bit more to do other than chill out. Will definately return again.

long weekend break

A bit of a jewel of a site with a local shop a short walk away that sells everything you would need and a very nice pub in the village of Ludham which is about 30 minutes stroll away or five minutes in a car , which also serves great meals. The wardens are very welcoming and warm and nothing is too much trouble for them, and they contribute to a restful and peaceful site.

Enjoyable Easter Weekend

Just returned from spending Easter at this site. Very peaceful, especially given it was school holiday. There is a play area on site for kids, and bewilderwood is only a few minutes drive down the road. But other than a few little shops and moorings a short walk from site theres not much within walking distance. The site was very clean, well laid out and wardens were very friendly and helpful. Will most certainly be returning.

A WEEKEND BREAK

We stayed at this site for just 2 nights, our first break of the year, and just over an hour from home. We were greeted by very friendly staff and, as usual, a familiar set-up on site. Very spacious pitch and very clean and tidy site. A little road noise could be heard at night, but nothing that annoyed. For campers with children, this site has no facilities for them, but for those without, it made for a very peaceful and relaxing time! Well situated for visiting all of the Norfolk Broads attractions but we must recommend The Staithe 'n' Willow in Horning - a pretty thatched restaurant that is open all day. The food was delicious, the local wine was surprisingly moreish and the staff very friendly :-D

Fair but not outstanding

Stayed here one night after picking up a new motorhome. I know the area well and the site is in a good location between Ludham village and Ludham Bridge. Transport is needed to go much further afield and there is nothing on site or in the immediate area for families with children to keep amused. The access is a not very wide road with plenty of chances to meet lorries and tractors so beware. The wifi was a problem while we were there and apparently is an ongoing problem. Toilet block clean and well mantained but only a few toilets / showers for the whole site in just one block. Helpful and friendly staff.

Wroxham on the Water

A truly wonderful site relatively quiet, just a little road noise but nothing to worry about. Superb wardens who were immensely helpful and cheerful who went out of their way to help our traveling friends when their caravan developed a minor fault. Unfortunately we didn't have our boules with us otherwise we would have enjoyed the unusual feature on this site. Well done to everyone we will endeavour to return again sometime.
