Fabulous and peaceful site

We stayed here for 3 nights in September and had such a wonderful time. We had a lovely welcome on arrival with lots of helpful information about the area, the pitches seemed more spread out than at other sites, the facilities were lovely and it is such a peaceful and tranquil site. There's a little noise from the road but really not intrusive. It's possible to walk through the fields to Horning, which has some lovely tea room. We hired a boat from Richardsons in Wroxham because they do daily rates, we did some lovely walks from site along the river and to St Benets Abbey and we also took the bus to Wroxham. We had a really lovely time here and will definitely be back.

Brilliant Broads

We received a very warm welcome on arriving at the site just after one pm. Fortunately we were able to slow down on the NDR to avoid being early. We have been to the site numerous times and often had the same pitch. We had a change this time and as a warden once told us a different pitch is a different holiday. We always enjoy Wroxham although the river there is not that accessible. The best bit of a Great Yarmouth visit is a stroll along the front from the Waterways to the Pleasure Beach. We visited Horsey Mill and did a circular walk to the coast and back via the Nelson Head. A circular drive taking in Wroxham, Woodbastwick, (Woodfordes Brewery) Ranworth ( including the Broad, Church with 89 steps to the top, the Granuary coffee shop ), South Walsham , Potter Heigham ( River Thurne, Boats , Lathams and the Bridge Stores for coffee) Ludham ( Church , Stores and a brilliant Butchers. With Womack Water nearby, and back to the site. It’s a pleasant walk from the site to the village following the local red route which can be extended visiting St Benets Abbey via a public footpath close to the site, or carrying on down Hall Common Road and round to the village centre. How Hill ( The Secret Garden a must) can be visited on another circular walk starting by the river and returning across fields. Apart from a short section of a busy road near the site it’s possible to walk from the site to Wroxham via Horning by footpath. The Norfolk Wildlife Trust has some local reserves to visit the largest adjacent to Hickling Broad. We enjoyed meals at the Dog Inn where a good selection of ales were available. Two helpful publications, Mary and Normans Guide to the Broads and around (free at the site) and Walking and Exploring the Northern Broads, all pretty close to the site, sold at Ludham Bridge stores along with most anything else you will want. Norfolk is great for cycling with many minor roads in the immediate area, cycles are available to hire in several locations. There are attractive pubs and tea rooms many by a river or a Broad to visit. Garden centres in abundance, a few farm shops around to. All the above without travelling miles. If you want a retail buzz perhaps on a wet day? There are a few buses from outside the site that run to Norwich otherwise there is a Park & Ride at Sprowston a few miles away. The facilities are excellent, with sizeable well spaced pitches. The wardens were friendly and did a good job keeping the site in a great shape. Often working in the evening particular on the garden areas and boxes with the summer bedding plants. ( Helpful tips from Libby to). We had a great time and can’t wait to return.

Lovely convenient location right in the middle of the Broadd

Our first time in the Broads and it couldn’t have been better. Such a shame we were only there for a couple of nights! Next time it will be for longer as there’s so much to do and to see.

Norfolk Broads

Lovely site, very clean and friendly staff. Some nice walks into Ludham village and to St. Benets Abbey direct from site. The Dog pub is just down the road and is a great pub with good outdoor space also very dog friendly. You can also walk down to Ludham Bridge where there is a shop and bakery and you can watch the boats. A little further afield there's Cromer, Great Yarmouth etc.

Perfection!

My first Caravan and Motorhome club experience was very disappointing (I did leave a review). I'm not sure why we kept our membership but we are so glad we did. This camp site was absolutely perfect. Everything was spotless and the park was lovely with plenty of trees and shrub areas breaking up the pitches. The off lead dog area was very much appreciated by my two. The showers were hot and powerful and the garden areas were immaculate as was every area of the park. They happily organised an additional night for us. We would definitely recommend staying here, many thanks for a great experience.

Outstanding site with fab wardens

What a find. This site is clean, well maintained and in a great location for getting out and about on the Broads. The wardens Paul and Libby were amazing. Always there smiling and answering any questions. Local pubs great food. Very dog friendly area.

Superb visit

Superb well maintained site with extremely helpful staff. Facilities immaculate. Site location perfect for exploring the surrounding area, walking or cycling. Visit Horsey to the beach to see the seals, National Trust windmill and Poppylands cafe. Horning wonderful to watch the boats on The Broads. A fabulous stay.

LUCKY WITH THE WEATHER

Very friendly and helpful staff and toilet and shower facilities very clean. Be careful walking along the Main Road as the traffic does tend to speed along. The shop along the road to the river is very well stocked, and we enjoyed a meal at The Dog pub.

So quiet and great location

Really impressed with the site. Spacious, lots of green areas, and an off lead dog exercise area. Great, welcoming staff, who even came out in the pouring rain to check us in. Access to local areas of interest were more accessible than we'd thought, including fabulous walks and cycle rides, a good pub practically next door but others close by too. Can't wait to come again.
