A pleasant first stay here

A pleasant, well-laid out site in three adjacent loops. Some pitches at the top of the loops have generous grass areas next to pitches - nice for children or for tying dogs out. Dedicated dog walk. Warden very welcoming and helpful. Ludham Bridge is a 5 min walk from site. Picturesque place for watching boats go by. Take a chair if you want to stay a while - no benches here. Small boatyard here hires out boats at a cheaper price than larger companies and will give a Club discount. Staff very helpful when we took our dogs with us on a boat. Leave your car on site as there is no parking in boat yard. Gift shop on the walk to Ludham Bridge sells basic foodstuffs too. Café adjacent serves meals through the day (not evening). Gallery and craft workshops were closed during our summer stay. Ludham Village is a 5 min drive from site - pub and small shop here. Off-road footpath near site for walkers. Wroxham has larger shops, including a supermarket, mostly belonging to 'Roy'! Boat hire available here, too. Potter Heigham Bridge has boat hire, cafes and a massive shop called Lathams which sells alsmost everything - rather like Wilko! Coast is about a 30 min drive away. Winterton beach is popular, has parking (£1 per hour or £5 per day), toilets and a café. Caistor beaches quieter. Great Yarmouth is a traditional seaside town with two piers and a funfair. We preferred the quieter Northern end by the water gardens and there was plenty of parking on the road by the 'front'. On site we had some disturbance from an extended family having unnecessarily loud day-to-day conversations and also from a little dog with a pronounced barking problem, but this could happen anywhere and is not a poor reflection of the site. We would not hesitate to return if we were in the area in the future.

Lovely site

Our second visit to this site and we only live 20 minutes away but visiting friends in Ludham makes it very handy for an overnight stay. Warden, lady from Barnsley, was very welcoming and friendly. There is a cafe nearby called The Wayfarer that serves food from 8-4.30 and The Dog pub is open all day, is dog friendly and food and beer are good? The site has a dog walking area and some owners still didnt clear up!! Lovely showers that stay on and are nice and hot, very clean.

Lovely site

A lovely site located near Ludham Bridge, we only stayed for one night so didn't get much of a 'feel' for it.   First impressions - greeted by a lovely friendly warden, didn't get her name but she was lovely. Site was fairly busy which was expected in August. Facilities generally clean as you would expect at a CC site, though someone had been in the ladies toilets and left a terrible mess (that's all I am saying!), shame they couldn't respect the wardens hard work and other campers and clean up behind themselves. Will definitely visit for longer in the future.

Another first!

Seems to be trending right now - our first trip to Norfolk. We're normally attracted to lakes and hills but tried out The Broads after careful scrutiny of the 5 day weather forecast (wouldn't like to be in this area when its raining!) Site was just to our liking - quite open, plenty of trees but not so big as to make it shady. Toilet facilities were very good. It was quiet, even in mid-August, so had the feel of an adults only site. Shop/newsagent just 200 yards from the entrance so handy for getting supplies. We were able to easily cycle to Horning and Potter Heigham. The only disappointment was in not being able to hire a day boat by just turning up (tried on two successive days). But, as I said, it was mid-August so we should have anticipated and pre-booked.

First outing to Norfolk Broads

Site is well located near Ludham Bridge with a shop and lovely riverside walks.  The Dog Inn is dog friendly and fairly basic pub food but nice atmosphere.  Worth visiting Horning, pretty village further along the river.  How Hill is also attractive, nice tea rooms and walk back.  St Benets Abbey worth a visit but a long walk and the return walk along the river has been closed so you have to re-track. Good site

Our first caravanning holiday

Nice site extremely clean and tidy. We were here during school holidays so quite a few children but still very quiet. The little shop and pub on the bridge was extremely handy as only a few minutes walk . Lovely walk along riverside . A larger dog walk / play area would have been useful. We did make use of the boule pitch. Will definitely come again .

First visit to Norfolk

Great site with great wardens, had problem with electrics first night which warden was more than happy to sort out. Great location for biking & walking with near-by shops & pubs all within walking distance. Wroxham is the nearest main town with river-side pubs etc plus added bonus of train station for stress free transport to north coast or Norwich which was great for shopping & history.

Great Sigte

We used this site for its easy access to the Broads. Hired a day boat from the Marina next to the site and it was a vintage from the 1950's. A great boat and a great day, I would recommend this site for anyone who wishes to visit the Broads, Great Yarmouth and Norwich.

Good site

Great site, Great wardens always busy keeping site clean and tidy, well stocked shop just down the road at Ludham bridge easy walk from site, collected my news paper there every morning, and sometimes stopped for breakfast at the cafe next door, then walk the dog buy the river, brilliant location for visiting the broads, there is even a beach called Sea palling 20 mins drive from site that allows dogs, Bewilderwood adventure park is great for entertaining the kids, hired a boat from ludham bridge and wroxham as you do can't visit the broads without hiring a boat, both times very friendly staff and no hastle, best way to see the broads, found some great family pubs, visit the Ferry Inn huge pub with Bouncy castles and large play area for the kids we sat in the bear garden watching the boats go by, very reasonably priced food. Will visit this site again.
