Stayed for a week early September before moving on. Such a relaxing site. It was completely full during our stay which put a little pressure on the facilities but nonetheless they were kept very clean. Also fantastic hot water - what a pleasure! As previous reviews have said, plenty to do in the area. Well done wardens for your hard work. Fish and chips very good too!
Easy to find and a beautiful clean and peaceful site.We had sunshine all week and enjoyed a few boat trips.Easy to get to other places and we will be back
We stayed here for four nights ,what a lovely site facilities were excellent and the wardens welcoming .the area near the site is so pretty an easy walk on to the broads and fun watching all the boats. Some lovely walks along the river but you definetly need good weather which we were lucky to have , will be back next year .
At last a site with wardens who spot the n in their title and not think it's an r! Well kept site in a wonderful area. The walk to How Hill in baking September heat and the discovery of fantastic beaches at Winterton and Sea Palling was nectar to a Cornwall advocate. The Seals just off the beach at Winterton waved to us and urged us to come back again. The journey back to Hampshire was frustrating but can't wait to do it all again.
We love the Norfolk Broads and have been coming here for many years, spending our holiday on a boat. We are getting too old for that now so thought we would give this site a try. We were greeted by the friendly warden and found a nice grass pitch at the bottom of the site. The river is only a short walk away with a lovely walk along the river to How Hill, great for the dogs as the site dog walk is not very big. Toilet and shower block exceeds what you normally get on club sites, always clean and quite adequate for the size of the site. Easy drives to all the broads villages to just sit and watch the boats. Good pubs and restaurants a short drive away. Five minutes to Horning in one direction, Ludham in the other, ten minutes to Wroxham. My advice is if you use this site is to explore The Broads. Hire a day boat and get out on the river. There are sites closer to the coast if that is what you want. We will be back next year, and for a longer stay. Fantastic site with, while we were there, fantastic weather.
This was our 3rd visit to this site (we seem to go every 3 years, why? goodness knows) and it is one of our very favourites. We had 17 glorious days when we saw virtually no rain and scorching temperatures. The site is very well kept, the wardens were tireless in their efforts to make sure everyone had a pleasant stay. Dog walk though small ideal for first and last thing and much better without the hedge. Dog walking brilliant from site and also loads in the locality. Went to the beach at Horsey Gap and stunned by the number of seals swimming close to the shore - well worth the walk. We had a serious problem with one of our dogs who we nearly lost but found an exceptional vet (Hilary Warner, in Stalham who didn't fob us off as holidaymakers but went into great depth to find out what was wrong and our dog is now restored to us (albeit on expensive drugs). This really is a wonderful site in a lovely area; we will of course be back hopefully sooner than 3 years!
Lovely site, well maintained and very friendly staff. We picked this site because it seemed ideal for cyclists. A new cycleway into Horning has been built but it's a couple of miles up the road along a busy stretch which you wouldn't risk letting young children ride on. We had access to some specific cycle maps and bought an ordanance survey map but still didn't get on well from a cycling perspective. Other than that, a lovely part of Norfolk to visit.
We turned up on the off chance on Sept 8th as we had a last minute opportunity to get away. The site was full, but Pat the Assistant Warden, was brilliant. We were just about to go when someone had to leave early and Pat fitted us in. She was really helpful in may ways and had good knowledge of the local area. The facilities, as usual were excellent and very well maintained. We will certainly go back again as we could only stay one night. Well Done Pat and all the staff that look after the site.
