July 2016

We stayed for a week at this lovely site. All the facilities were fantastic, clean and tidy at all times and not far from any pitch you have. The pitches had plenty of room and did not feel squashed. All the staff were very helpful and polite. The site is fantastic for accessing the beautiful New Forest and surrounding area. We will certainly stay here again. Thank you.

We will return

We have just spent a lovely few days at the New Forrest site, this was our first visit but we will be returning. There are lots of things to do and see in the area, and much better if you have transport. Lots of nice place to eat, villages and towns to visit and lots of walks and bike rides. The facilities and shop are great, although the wash rooms could do with a bit of a revamp, some private sites do leave the Carvan club in the shade.

3rd stop on our sousouth coast tour

Unfortunately we didn't have particularly good weather but it didn't stop us getting out on our bikes. The facilities where excellent and found the warden's very helpful. This was our second visit to this site the last one being in 2014 with the grandchildren who had a fantastic time here and made a lot of good friends and still staye in touch. The wfii is still not very good which was the same in 2014 and the mobile signal .Nexterm stop Start Bay in Devon

Good Location

We spent one week here end of June. Everything is very well kept, including the grounds, pitches and amenity block. Staff were OK,our only concern was when we booked in we were asked quite sternly, what we were going to do with our Motor Home? (This being our Tow Vehicle on this occasion)We explained that there was only two of us and a dog but felt that we was under suspicion that we were going to use the Motor Home to Cook, Sleep, and use the electricity. We also explained that we informed we would be towing with this Vehicle when we booked the holiday.

Highly recommended

This was our first experience of a CC site, and we were very impressed; it more than fulfilled our expectations. The pitches are of a very generous size; the site is extremely well-maintained and clean; the staff were fabulous (especially when the elderly chap in the next caravan had a medical problem); the fresh cakes were delicious, and the fish & chip van an excellent amenity. The location is central for Ringwood, Christchurch and Lyndhurst and all onward routes, but we didn't really get the feeling of being in the New Forest. However, there are a couple of negative points: as others have said, O2 mobile coverage is non-existent (very frustrating) and the wi-fi was expensive and patchy, requiring logging in every few minutes (assuming you could get a signal at all). We would gladly return, and recommend the site to others.

Almost Perfect

We spent one week here. Everything is very well kept, including the grounds, pitches and amenity block. Staff were  great and made you feel at home. So what could I complain about? Only two small points: 1: You do not get a "New Forrest: feeling when you are on site. The site is excellent, but could be anywhere in the country. So if you want to camp amongst the ponies this is not the place. However, if you can cycle or drive or even walk a short distance, you can enter the New Forrest proper. 2: The O2 mobile phone coverage on this site is zero. However my friend had no problems with Vodaphone.  Sorry for those wingers, but I have run out of things to complain about.  Will I be back. Definitely.

Fantastic site

Stayed at this site in the New Forest during the May half term holidays. Lovely site, with great pitches. Very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go there again. Great location for visiting the New Forest.

Good for families

Good for families... but where are all the families?

We visited this site for a weekend with children as it was a good family site with play ground. The site is clean, big pitches, plenty of room. The facilities were of the usual CC high standard. The site was full when we were there 257 ptiches and only one other family with kids. The playground felt loney as there were only my kids playing in it. This is our 3rd CC site and we would recommend. But I do not understand why I do not see families at these sites, is it the CC membership does not consist of many famiies? We also looked at another favourite new forrest site, tis AA award winning and 5* and it had pitches available and a play ground and a games room (that this CC does not have) it was cheaper than this CC site. Perhaps that is why families do not go? As a family we can visit a site with other families, which is what kids prefer, and cheaper with more facilities. That said this is no critisim of this site that is beatuiful, clean and friendly staff. Its perfect for anyone who has no young children and wants peace and quiet.

GREAT SITE

We stayed here for a week and had the most enjoyable time. Great local pubs, walks and places to visit. Lovely welcome when we arrived and found an ideal pitch close t facilities. The wardens work hard to keep the site in great condition.  One down side. We should have stayed longer. Well done Caravan Club.
