Hi to All, just returned from a Weeks stay 26.5.2018 to 2.6.2018. Stayed on pitch 179, lower end of this section of site, due to traffic noise of the cars going over the Cattle grid. We were not effected by this, but those who did stay this end of this section of site, must of had a terrible time of it.
Facilities were otherwise great, the dog walks excellent for their freedom to venture. The play area is for the use for the under five's.
The large number of teenaged children during this week were abusing the rides and were disrespecting, to their use.
On a pleasant note; A thank you the wardens for keeping the site in perfect order, even doing night patrols up to 10.00pm.
For you the dog lovers, I have read previous reviews and not one as mentioned that there are FOUR areas of beach were dogs are allowed all year round. Areas are marked with a Blue dog sign for start of area and a Red dog sign where area ends, you'll be talking about a mile for each area. Starts at Southbourne up and after Boscombe pier. ALL SAND. Well worth the visit, there are tea rooms areas to eat etc.
Wonderful stay
We stayed here from 4th to 19th May and had glorious weather! Thank you to all the team who created such a lovely atmosphere this year and looked after everyone so well. We really appreciated all the hard work being put in to tidy up the Centenary garden and all the site looked beautiful. We were only sorry to have to leave on the Wedding Party Day. Hope you all had fun and thank you once again. Kind regards.
PS. Really appreciated the later time for cleaning showers etc as there were no queues and we could relax in the morning!

Wonderful stay
We found the site very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The shop was well stocked and the Information room was full of interesting things to do in the area. The toilet blocks were very clean as were all the service points situated around the site. We are looking forward to coming back.

Great Site in the New Forest
Firstly:-
I have only given a five star for peace and quiet but you can hear traffic noise from the very busy A35 if the wind is in the right direction - but it's not like being on the M5 or anything but generally this is a quiet site. On site there are places where it is quieter than others - the areas closer to the play park for example as you would expect are noiser than say Mustang.
Facilities are great - despite it being a bank holiday weekend there was no problem using the loo or shower. There are two blocks and I only used the one at Mustang end so can't comment on the other. I did notice the plug holes in the shower were a bit hairy but on the last day they had been cleaned. Good dishwashing and laundry area.
The site itself is large and spacious, it was totally full but we never felt over crowded or hemmed in. There is a barrier system to go in and out of the site, with a very well stocked shop (cash only for shop purchases which also includes bits of caravan spares, electric cables, waste pipes etc). There is a good selection of food and at weekends you can get baguettes freshly cooked, croissants etc.
There are two dog walks, a small one running along the drive way entrance and a field close to the play area.
There is a great children's park and a football pitch as well as the centenary garden. The site is great for cycling but we did not find the New Forest Cycle Route map that you can buy in reception for £4 particularly helpful if you strayed off their route. There were places marked that were roads (looked the same on the map as roads so you would think it was a road) and it clearly wasn't when we got to it, causing us to have to ride up the very dangerous A35 (DO NOT do this - it is VERY dangerous). The route down to Christchurch is down a very long hill, bear this in mind on the way back it's a long up hill. The Cat and Fiddle junction - take you life in your hands to cross it ! There are some quieter cycle routes and of course in the forest is restricted weight wise and speed wise so much better. The trailway from Burley to Brockenhurst is good with Homsley Tea Room for a break mid way - Brockenhurst disappointing, hardly anything there and to be honest not worth the last 2 miles on the road to get to it. Burley is sweet and within 2.5 miles of the site to ride to, touristy shops, icecream, coffees etc.
Christchurch and Highcliffe castle nice to visit, and Mudeford - did this all by bike, but not safe enough to ride with kiddies - roads are very busy a lot of the time - some of it in quiet lanes though.
This was our first trip to this site and we will certainly be back. We really enjoyed it, the wardens work incredibly hard - it's a big site to look after.
Plenty of walking locally, plenty to see, lovely location and all in all well recommended.
First Trip as new members
This was our first time using a caravan and motorhome club site with our new folding camper. The staff were friendly and helpful and facilities were very clean. The site was easy to find by following the HGV signs as recommended on the webpage to avoid Lyndhurst. We walked the hour or so into Bransgore seeing numerous ponies and had a pint at the Crown pub and then enjoyed excellent fish and chips from the van that visits thursdays and saturdays. Recommended if visiting the new forest.
Very quiet
We have visited this site annually since it opened, always during school holidays. We were surprised how quiet the site was with plenty of choice of pitches
For cyclists, there is a Sustrans route from the site to Mudeford Quay (maps available from site office). Although not suitable for young children, older children would be fine as it is mostly flat apart from uphill coming back to site.
Further afield, drive to Hengistbury Head and cycle to Bournemouth along promenade (not July or August) - recommend Urban Reef cafe at Boscombe to break up journey
We drove to Keyhaven and walked to Hurst Castle (£5 admittance for adult) which is approx 1.5 miles along beach
Gathering of the Clan
We visited this site 6th to 8th April 2018. We are 3 Brothers with entourage of various types and species. In all 13 live specimens.
We have 3 different Rigs from 5th Wheeler to VW Camper.
We had an excellent stay. Weather was questionable but we managed, met, forested and were merry!
Facilities and Staff were excellent.
The only thing, which is always an issue, is getting pitches together! All the pitches are numbered and on a Map. When we book we should be able to quote 'Other' booking refs and get Pitches reserved 'together'.
As it turned out we pretty well managed the 'First come first serve' thing and got 3 pretty close togther in a triangle. However, there was an 'Other Party' in the middle of out triangle!
I hope they had a good time being in the middle of 13 rushing to and fro.
I just wish some 'common sense' be applied when Clans book up en-masse to have the simple ability to 'reserve some pitches' - bit like a Hotel room - cna't be rocket science can it?
Anyway, great site, great location. great staff!! Thanks See you April 2019.
Lovely site
Spent 8 nights here during the artic weather, site only had about 25 outfits there so very quiet. Showers very clean as is always the case, we do love this site. Lovely friendly wardens, 4 of them we have previously met at Rookesbury in 2017.
Unlike the previous review we didn't see any wardens for 2 days when there was heavy snow, it might of been because of where we were pitched. The pipes were frozen for those 2 days & I had to get hot water from the the showers about 6 times in a watering can to defrost the pipes. It is not a complaint against the wardens it was just unfortunate.
We think the wardens do a marvellous job and we will definitely be back later in the year.
Short Break
We have been visiting the New Forest for nearly 30 years, and since the Centenary Park opened have used this site. Compared to the overpriced Forestry Commission site almost next door, with an extra charge to the 'friendly club', and cold shower block, this site is luxury.
We arrived in a blizzard of snow, which was an experience, and found the site not overly busy with plenty of spaces to choose from. As the white blanket of snow deepened all around us over the next couple days the ever vigilant warden's were making their presence known should we need help, alarmingly wearing shorts, I understand this is personal choice not something the Club insists upon, we were ready fight their case!!...... but hay ho each to their own. The wardens sorted out frozen this and frozen that but it only last a few days and we were back to our normal green and pleasant land. Ever drawn to the forest we will be back, again and again and again......thank you wardens for all your hard work!, you made us feel safe and supported in the Arctic conditions.
Lovely New Forest
This site is in a good position for visiting the New Forest and for getting down to the coast. We stayed Monday to Friday in early October and were very fortunate with the weather. In fact, one of the days, walking at Milford, I had to apply sun cream.
We have stayed on the site a few times and it continues to match expectations. You can walk or cycle into the Forest so you can leave your vehicle where it is, on the site.
The wardens are friendly and helpful. They keep the site clean and tidy.
It's interesting to see that the site is also expanding.
My only comment would be for the grass to be cut between bookings. Whilst we were on a hardstanding pitch, the grass on either side was quite long.
We will definitely return.
Recommend the café at the nursery, in Bransgore, on the Burley Road.
