October weekend away

This is our first visit to the New Forest Centenary club site. We would definitely recommend it. As our visit was out of season it was mostly couples on the site. The wardens were very helpful, welcoming and always had a smile on their faces when we saw them about the site. As there were 2 shower block, there was always one open. The on-site shop was well stocked. The site is excellently placed in the heart of the New Forest, which is great for cycling. We stayed on the roads as we took road bikes. However, if you have mountain bikes or hire mountain bikes (there is a cycle shop at nearby Burley) we have been told that there are some good off road routes, including an old rail way line. We had a lovely relaxing break and would like to return to this site at some point in the future.

Better than I thought it would be

I expected a big, open site because it was an airfield. Not so, This site is well landscaped. Sectioned off in to smaller areas. Two good dog walks. Bit of a walk up the road to actually get on to open forest area but worth the walk and the verge is very wide. Poor mobilephone reception, as is all the New Forest. For easy directions just follow the brown HOLMSLEY Forest Camp site signs. CC site is just before the cattle grid. Lydhurst can be busy so consider coming off A31 at Picket Post and going through Burley instead.

Lovely Site

Just returned from 10 days in this lovely site. Lovely location , beautiful surroundings, good facilities, friendly staff, large size pitches. Was so impressed with the dog walks, large and spacey, it was a shame that some people do not appreciate what they have on this site as still do not clean up after their dogs, WHY ?? this site provided more than enough dog disposal bins, more than are on some parks, it still happens , it makes me so cross. We always adhere to arrive on the time the club asks . As we arrived just after the time we had to have a grass pitch as this was only availability, we do prefer hardstanding, maybe if we arrived like some visitors did before the said time we may have been able to have hardstanding, but we were still happy with our pitch, the weather didnt help with the grass as the weather turned for a couple of days. Why are there certain times for arrival if they are not adhered too? Overall a good find, we will definately return next year!

Excellent site - first time not the last

A really lovely location with lots to do without travelling too far. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel very welcome. Despite the weather (it rained at some point most days of our stay!) our first visit to this lovely site was memorable and enjoyable, a brilliant site, with a fantastic team of wardens. The site is deceptively large but with each area laid out into smaller site chunks, you don’t feel the site has 275 pitches. Facilities are excellent and two shower blocks ensure you don’t have to clock watch in the mornings to get a shower before cleaning starts. There is a Fish & Chip van that visited 3 times a week during our stay and should definitely be tried, the quality is excellent. Also available are freshly baked cakes and at weekends baguettes and croissants. The wardens all 6 of them were friendly, helpful and informative. Their friendly and highly professional service is second to none. Whilst this a very busy site and with the challenge of wet weather they manage to keep the site clean, tidy and well manicured. If you have bicycles, take them there are plenty of tracks through the New Forest. With access to supermarkets (there is a large Sainsburys in Mudeford and a Waitrose in Christchuch, both 10-15 mins car ride) and excellent beaches in under 15 minutes, and the New Forest on your doorstep. Perfect.

Consistently Excellent all round site deceptively large!

We made our 2nd visit to the site having first went in 2012 with friends who have a young son. It was excellent then, it's excellent now. If you have bicycles, take them. Not only is there an array of tracks through the New Forest, it's not that far to take the bikes to Christchurch on the car, and then cycle along the front all the way to Sandbanks in Poole. We did this 3 times! In the summer holidays, the traffic can be bad, especially on your trip down in and through Lyndhurst - this is a regular issue with caravanners and no doubt the local people in Lyndhurst - but don't let it dampen your enthusiasm for this site! The site is deceptively large - each area is laid out into ideal site chunks, so you are not seeing caravans as far as the eye can see. Two shower blocks makes it possible to go any time of the day. Facilities, wardens etc all excellent - I echo what others have said. A brilliant site and well worth a visit

First Timers !

Stayed here for 2 nights as a test trip for our new motorhome. Really lovely location and the staff friendly and helpful. The toilet facilities are immaculate. As mentioned by others, the Fish & Chip van should definitely be tried, the quality is excellent ! The dog walks are fantastic with lots of room for a proper walk. Will be visiting again for a longer period next year.

Recent visit

My wife and myself stayed on this site for 6 nights mid August 2017. We had a service pitch that was well situated for the facilities etc. but felt rather squashed in due to standard grass pitches being utalised between each service pitch! New arrivals were allowed on site to set up from as early as 10.30 am! This is unfair when people time their arrival for 12 o'clock. Good facilities, and toilet blocks kept very clean during such a busy time. Children racing around the site at a ridiculous speed on bikes is quite a problem at times. Site in excellent location for new forest, supermarkets, beaches etc.

A stunning site with an outstanding team of wardens - what more could one ask for!

We have been members of the Caravan Club for 28 years and have never come across such an outstanding customer focused team. Their friendly and highly professional service is second to none. Whilst this a very busy site, it it very imaginatively laid out and access to toilets is no issue, especially as the blocks are cleaned in the afternoon. It is a spotless and amazingly quiet site for one with 275 pitches. With access to supermarkets and excellent beaches in under 15 minutes, and the New Forest on your doorstep, you have all the ingredients for a first class family friendly holiday. Wireless and mobile reception is acceptable, and the fish and chips from the mobile van that visits 3 times a week in the high season, are to die for! A brilliant site, with a fantastic team of wardens made our week's stay with our 3 year old granddaughter, our most memorable and enjoyable stay to date. We're ready to book for next year, so look's like we'll be up in the early hours of December 2017 to secure a pitch! Awesome...

Heaven in Hampshire

Just had a week at the lovely Centenary Site, as usual the wardens were brilliant, always smiling and cheerful and happy to help or advise. We were pleasantly surprised as at the height of the school holidays the site still seemed calm and relaxed, the facilities were always clean and tidy and the two dog walks are good. What we like about this site is it is very well situated for visiting the various beaches and places of interest, we are definitely coming back, can't wait.

Great site & wardens

Great site and very friendly wardens. Its a busy site, loads of families with kids, but hey its August! We had a great weekend there, upon arriving the wardens were great until the moment we left. Our only mistake was walking to the village.... as someone was wearing sandals and came back with blisters! - At 3 miles to the village, its a bit too far to walk, can we hire bikes next time? Definitely will return again - very soon. our score: 10/10
