Excellent

First time out after a break of many years from caravan holidays. Superb situated site with good facilities, friendly staff and lots of places to visit in easy reach. Would happily come again.

Lovely site, lovely wardens

As title suggests what a lovely site. We first came here 3 weeks after the site opened. It was lovely then but what a difference 10 years make! The vegetation has grown and makes the site feel good. Ideally situated for the New Forest and Bournemouth. Recommend the chip van which comes Monday and Saturday. Wardens were lovely too. Facilities immaculate. We’ll cone everyone

Ideal for families wanting to explore the New Forest

We stayed here with our 2 children for 2 weeks mid August and thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in the countryside not far from the A35 between Lyndhurst and Christchurch, you are a stone's throw from the heathland with horse roaming free but also near local villages, beaches and amenities. The kids loved the big play area on site as well as the football field next door. Despite it being a pre-dominantly family site, it was not noisy. The facilities were excellent - as is to be expected with club sites. We particularly loved the mobile fish and chip van and the wood-fired pizza van that visit the site twice a week on different nights - very yummy. During our stay, we visited different beaches no more than 20 mins away (Avon Beach, Mudeford) as well as doing lots of cycling and walking. I'd recommend buying a pub walk pocket guide - some great walks of varying lengths and ideal with kids. The cycle map of the New Forest area is also a must - you can follow pre-planned routes or decide your own ones using the way-markers and just parking up for free at one of the many free car parks on the heathland / woodland itself. It's a great way of appreciating the New Forest's beauty and seeing its livestock up close! If you fancy a change, visit the Beaulieu Motor Museum, Furzey Gardens in Minstead or Bucklers Hard. Will definitely return again!

Love this site

We have visited this site twice this year and once last year and really enjoy staying here. It is a lively site and I enjoy seeing the kids riding their bikes/scooters around the site. They don't even let the wet weather stop them! We went on the playing field on our last visit (playing soft tennis) & it was a lovely atmosphere, with the kids in the playground and on the field, playing football and all the dogs in the dog walking area. My boyfriend was disappointed that the pizza from the pizza van that comes to site, took ages to arrive, but, it was nice when it did. Excellent, clean facilities, great showers. Only thing that lets it done is the wifi is rubbish. You pay £2.50 and then you can't get on it half the time, even if you are in a stronger wifi spot. Will definitely be returning next year.

Overall a good stay

We stayed for the late Aug Bank hol weekend with our new & nervous dog (were also new to dog ownership) but have 2 dog walks that were fenced in was superb. We could let our Lurcher pup off lead (it a good job they are big!). I was on pitch 30 & my 25m power lead just fitted when following the checkin instuctions by the site staff. I even had to make my neighbour aware as his car was very close. Why dont the tell you or provide a longer lead. The closet toilet block only had 4 working loos as one was "bunged up" & the water pressure was very low so refilling & flushing was very slow. The Wifi was so intermittent/bad i was using my phones hotspot (Vodafone 4G) but my wifes (shes on 3) had no signal at all.

Second Visit

Our second visit as we like the area and wanted to re-visit. Everything was good - cleanliness, staff, shop, dog walk - but . . . I like children having had three myself and umpteen grandchildren, but I was irritated by youngsters racing around on their bikes and scooters with no regard for anyone else. If parents could be reminded that they are responsible for their childrens' safety and asked to ensure their offspring behave courteously, I would have been a happier camper, but tripping over bikes left abandoned by the dog walk was not what I expected.

Well up to usual high C&M Club standards.

Facilities on this site are exceptionally good: washing/WC blocks, dog walk area, children's playground, pitches, shop etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location very good for New Forest walks and bike rides. A bit far from the nearest pub or restaurant, probably at least 45 minute walk but easy by car of course. I could not find an off road footpath to the nearest village and road walking a bit dodgy. There may be a safer path that I missed though. Handy for Christchurch and Bournemouth with all the events etc. A very popular site, deservedly so.

Excellent Site

Stayed here for 4 nights and were impressed with the facilities and the well run site. Pitch size was adequate and close to facilities and reception. Disabled shower room was well thought out and there were two available. Two dog walking areas which were great to allow off lead exercise. Everywhere was clean and tidy, fairly quiet apart from the constant cycling and scootering round of children. Appreciated the lack of curfew! 24 hour access was available.

well what a site. best site by far.

well i must say that this has got to be the best site i have stayed on so far. And as for the STAFF well you could not get such a nice bunch. very friendly and and could have a laugh and joke with them. best 2 1/2 week i have had nice and peaceful in the evenings. And to be able to access the site late at night after going places with no rushing back to a locked gate. very clean and friendly site well worth the visit. And will i go back there i most certainly will. do i have any bad points about the site NO about the staff NO great site i will see you next year. and one last thing the fish and chip van twice a week visits the site with good sized portions and taste nice unlike some of the shops near by that charge more and taste awful.
