Lovely Part of the World
We recently had 9 nights on this site. What a tranquil and beautiful part of the world this is. We were lucky with the weather only having poor weather on the day we arrived (after we had set up) and on the day we left. The layout of the site is not the regular regiment rows as on some sites. The pitches are off the main access road and in little "alcoves" or grassy areas. Although the site is quite busy with people arriving and leaving all the time it's not noisy and the pitches are far enough off the main road to ensure there is no road noise during the night.
The beach is adjacent to the site and it's only a short walk from the site with walk in either direction along the coast. The site is well placed for visits to Port Logan, Port Patrick and the Mull of Galloway. One place that is a must to visit are the Logan Botanic Gardens which are only a couple of miles from the site.
The local pub in Drummore serves good value food and drink but for a wider variety of venues a visit to Portpatrick is worth it.
It's a shame that we live so far away from this ite otherwise we would be using it a lot more.

Peace and quiet in these strange times
What a lovely site, peaceful and 'Covid-19 secure'. We have just spent 8 nights here, the weather was really good, just one night/morning when it rained heavy and boy did the wind blow. Enjoyed many walks on the beach with our dog and one day out to the Mull of Galloway lighthouse and Port Logan. We went for a change of scenery and some peace and quiet and that is just what we got. The facilities were excellent, always clean and I was lucky enough to be on my own each time I used them. Wardens very friendly, always happy and look after the site very well indeed. We could not fault the site at all, I am very sure we will be back.
Peaceful Stress Free Retreat
Great site for beach, walking , fishing and chilling out. We had to cut short our stay due to family reasons which was such a shame. The sites are varied and you can choose between on the 'front' to secluded and private. This was only our second trip since the sites reopened in July. What made out trip was the fantastic work of the warden team ( sorry didn't get all the names), we were greeted on arrival, facilities were kept immaculate in these crazy Covid times and we were treated with sympathy and understanding when we had to depart. The team are a credit to The Caravan and Motorhome Club,
Thank you Don , Angela, Mark and Natalie.

Great stay
Once again a wonderful stay at New England bay. Weather was kind which helps. It is a remote site but we like that. We have been a few times now so we are happy to walk the dogs on the beach and do little else. Site is well organised and clean. No concerns from us re current situation on covid 19. The toilet and showers system worked. As long as people remembered their bands ?? Not the sites fault that.
A gem of a site but be aware it’s windy!
This is a beautiful site for peace and relaxation. We did not use the facilities so can’t comment but there were a few sanitisers at reception. It was lovely and tidy and plenty of room around the pitches. We chose one at the back for more shelter due to the wind. There are a few very secluded pitches which the warden suggested when we were checking in as it was our first venture out after shielding. We felt very safe and always used anti bac wipes whilst filling up with water or using the bins etc. The ground is very hard but be aware that after a lot of rain (and boy did we have some) that the access grass to the pitches can get a bit churned up.
One negative comment is that the motorhome point had only one smallish drain and as our waste emptying tap was on the wrong side we had to position ourselves the best we could to allow it to drain. We did wash over the spilled water. As there is a one way system we could only come in one way but the warden said that we could have came in the other way so that we would have been able to position ourselves over the drain. As we all know rules are rules and I’m sure there would have been a comment if we had gone the wrong way around the one way system, so please make the drain big enough to access both sides of the motorhome.
If you are cycling to the Mull of Galloway lighthouse please be aware there are a lot of hills and even with an electric bike we had to get off and push on a few of them but well worth it in the end.

Recent trip
My husband and I have just returned from a week at this site. The location is lovely although the road from Stranraer to the site is quite bumpy. The site is quite large but subdivided with bushes. We found that the pitches were quite uneven and it was difficult to work out where one started and another ended.
The band system in the toilet blocks is definitely not robust. I understand what they are trying to do but perhaps having 2 toilet hooks, 2 shower hooks and 2 sink hooks may be a more practical approach and still allow 2 meter distancing. It does rely on the person remembering to take their band and on a few occasions they had been left behind and I had to go in after waiting quite a while. I would also recommend hand sanitiser being available in the toilet blocks and at the bin/water areas too.
Lovely area but not sure I would choose to return to.
Perfection
Loved this site. Enjoyed a front row pitch, seconds from the fabulous beach, great for strolling or just sitting watching the tides. All facilities were spotless and well managed thanks to the hard working site team. Biked to Port Logan with the cutest Telford designed harbour and fishing pond. Lunch at the botanical garden. Sad to leave the area.
Relaxing and quiet site right by the beach
We only managed to stay for one night because the weather turned bad but based on that I would return for a second visit. The site is close to the beach and had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The toilet and shower facilities were ok but there were no anti bac materials, apart from a soap dispenser on the communal sink, so if you want to be sure that you are suitably protected best to take your own. They were using a crazy restricted entry system in the toilet block so only two people could enter the room at any one time. This meant that if one was in the shower, and one using the sink you couldn't go in to use the toilet despite the fact that all three of you would be more than 2 meters apart! The system also only worked if people remembered to leave their wrist band on the hooks outside or remembered to collect their wrist band when they had finished.
Lovely stay
I had a fantastic stay at this site with my daughter over the bank holiday weekend. Due to the spacious layout of the site, despite being full, it felt very safe and never overcrowded. Very friendly, hardworking staff. Great place to stay. My only suggestion would be for the toilet pegs to be changed so there's 2 shower ones and 2 toilet ones... or maybe just 3 pegs ( with only 2 showers in use), often there was a long queue for the toilet cause 2 showers were in use.
I really appreciate the positive attitude to opening the sites, so it is just a suggestion, following a wonderful few days based on this lovel site.
