Room with a view

This was a pretty large campsite but had the advantage of offering pitches with views, pitches with privacy or pitches with a bit of both. The pitches on the front, whilst enjoying uninterrupted views were more open to the elements and any movement on site. We chose a pitch at the back of the site where they are quieter and largely screened by gorse bushes. To the front of our pitch was an open area of wildflowers leading up to the hillside. It was idyllic.

Perfect for nature

Four nights at probably the best club site we've visited. Been a member for seven years and loved the site. Perfect for nature lovers and dog walkers. Well worth a visit.

Great beach site

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of April. Great site, spread right along a sandy beach. There are also more secluded areas set back from the beach among the broom. We chose one of those, and had a magnificent view of a bluebell covered embankment at the back of the site. Loos were clean (as ever with CAMC), although the ladies on the closest block seemed to have some flooding problem which was being worked on. There was another block further along, so just a minor inconvenience. There are rabbits running everywhere here, which is fun, but if you have any great hang-ups about rabbit poo, this might be a problem... Just leave your shoes outside!

Great holiday.

Beautiful outlook over the sea, very neat and well laid out pitches, either overlooking the sea or tucked in amongst the gorse.

NEW ENGLAND BAY TOP MARKS AGAIN!!

We've just returned from a 8 night stay here on this site and its just how it was when we stayed there 5 years ago, the wardens were very friendly and helpful, its perfect for dog walking or the kids straight on to the beach, toilets and showers were spotless as usual. This site is faultless and we would highly recommend this to all caravaners, 10 minute drive and you are in Stranraer, and other nice places to visit such as Portpatrick and Port Logan, and a nice pub just 5 minutes drive away which serves lovely meals is the Clashwannon Pub in Drumore.

Fabulous!

Got home today from 4 nights at New England Bay. We did not want to come home. The site is very easy to find following the website directions. The welcome at reception was warm and friendly and we were told we had a good choice of pitches as 20 pitches had been vacated that morning and of course the end of September is a quiet time of year. We got pitched up along the front overlooking the beach. Trip up and you almost land on the beach it’s that close! The weather for the most part was lovely. We were treated to the most wonderful sunrise everyday and watching the harvest moon rise and reflect on a calm sea was magical. There is very little light pollution in the area so we would try and return when there is no moon do some star gazing. Galloway is of course a dark sky site. We had a good time exploring the area and we will certainly be back. There are some very nice beaches around the area and most places have parking places so it’s great for jumping out and having an explore before moving on somewhere else. On Tuesday evening there was a chip van on site which served the nicest chips we’ve had in a long time. Another evening a van selling fresh fish drove around the site. We are already trying to work out when we can return.

Fantastic site if the weather is on your side

Spent a few days hear earlier this year, A one minute walk to the beach, spotless toilet blocks, super friendly helpful wardens, plenty wildlife right on site, we saw stoats , rabbits and numerous birds. We always take a bird feeder with us and nowhere have we had so many birds coming to visit every day :-) Fantastic location and we had fabulous weather too, but if the weather turns nasty i can imagine its a totally different kind of Holiday, having said that part of me wants to stay here when the rain and wind are coming in horizontally from the sea...... One thing to be aware of is the amount of jelly fish washed up on the beach every day, wasnt a problem for us but its something to keep an eye out for.....didn't stop the kids going for a swim in the sea or the dogs having a good old time on the beach.......

Great site, but......

Fantastic site, great location, staff all amazing and helpful. Only really one minor issue, for a family site the children’s play area is somewhat lacking. At the moment there is only a small slide. No swings, no roundabouts etc etc. A little money spent here would make such a difference for the kids. That all said would revisit.

June visit

This is a lovely quiet site on the Mull of Galloway which my wife and I have visited for the last five years with our dogs. There is plenty to see and do within the local area.

A lovely relaxing site

My wife and I recently spent 7 nights at the site and we were very happy with the location and the facilities. The stretch of coastline is breathtaking and there are a number of beautiful places to see and visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful and they always had time to say hello. This part of Scotland is a well kept secret and peaceful. If you are unlucky then you might get stuck in rush hour traffic of maybe 3-4 cars. There are lovely walks along the beach and into the nearby countryside straight from the club site with a number of route guides in the 'information centre'. Further afield there is stunning countryside in the mountains and if you decide to venture to Castle Douglas area then you can go to the Red Kite feeding station..... Well worth a visit to see these beautiful birds and have a return journey back through the mountains rather than the main road. The Mull of Galloway is well worth a visit, as is Port Patrick (closest thing to a seaside town, but quaint) and one of the nicest beaches we have ver been to at Killantringan (about 5 minutes drive from Port Patrick. There are no facilities here and it is a steep climb down to the beach, but as the tide goes out you are treated to a lovely crescent shaped sandy beach with rock pools and several places were you can set up in the rocks without being overlooked by anybody. Access to the club site is very easy and there is a good range of pitches from open pitches to secluded. We would certainly stop here again if coming to the area. We actually cut our stay short by 3 days as we went to meet somebody in a different part of Scotland. We had to stay on a none Caravan club site and whilst that site was friendly and nice, there was no comparison to what we have come to expect from a Caravan club site.
