Fine for over night stay...

Wardens were very friendly, This is a very quiet site so not much going on for kids. We stayed here breaking our journey up traveling from Devon so it was ideal stop off.. wouldn't want to stay much longer with kids though. site clean and tidy, for such a large site only 2 showers is crazy, such a queue to wash and you feel very rushed when u know people are waiting. The shower block is really dated too!

Noisy and dated site

Appart from the lovely welcome by the lady in the office ( sorry i forgot to grab your name ) i find it difficult to be positive overall about this site. When we go away in our motorhome we do this to escape the noise and trappings of modern life. Unfortunately the location of this site so close to the very busy A31 there is constant Road noise even in the early hours alot of heavy Lorry and bus traffic and we were on the lower level of this site which is considered to be quieter. Both the upper toilet block and the lower block are really very dated, infact my partner refused to use them. I used the terribly desgined shower as i was drying myself someone turned on the shower in the cubicle next to me and the floor suddenly flooded with water. I was persuaded by the lovely lady on arrival at the site to just the Caravan Club - but to be honest am considering cancelling the membership after this site visit. To add to this and certainly not the sites fault but not one person spoke on the site, the usual 'Good Morning' as you pass people on the site was either met with a grunt or people ignoring us.

2nd chances

This is my 2nd visit to Morn Hill having vowed to find somewhere different. However, this stay was much better. The staff were friendly and we stayed on the upper level at the end where things were very tranquil and peaceful. OK so I used my caravan shower again as the facilities are a joke for a site so large...come on club, everyone is commenting on this! Any 1st time user MUST google the access off the roundabout. It is a treacherous entry/exit onto a busy road.

Too Many Moaners

Just spent 5 nights at the site. Having read the reviews before we booked we did wonder if we had made a mistake. However the site is fine - toilets and showers not the most modern but do the job. Wardens very helpful and obliging. We were on the upper section of the lower site and you can hear the noise from the adjoining road but it's not as bad as some would make out. Overall we think it's a good site so don't take too much notice of the moaners - I suppose you can't please all of the people all of the time !!!!

Tranquility

This was our second stay at Morn Hill as we found it a perfect location for exploring the New Forest and surrounding area. First thing to note though is lack of childrens facilities, this means that children including our own grandkids, end up playing around the caravans.....sorry for any noise they caused!! Secondly as others have mentioned, the showers are getting a little old and would definitely benefit from a refurb (higher shower heads a must!!) Otherwise, this is a beautifully well maintained site, and very little noise from the nearby A31 (there was more noise from planes using the nearby Southampton Airport!!). I will certainly be back for more family adventures to Paultons Park, Winchester and other wonderful locations.

Unusual circumstances

We stayed forv3 weeks because our daughter gave birth to twins 2 months early in Basingstoke and we live in Devon and my wife needed to be on hand Not our usual type of sites but 'busy' and open on four levels  We started on the top level which is basically like staying in a big field but got to move to the best pitch on the site for the last 10 nights which was great bearing in mind that of the 3 weeks I spent over half the time on my own my wife flitting back and forth for a few days here and there and so I wanted to ensure I had good satellite cover to watch cricket, golf etc which we don't normally worry about No wifi, toilet blocks with two showers each serving probably 75 units per block, very dated and could be noisy if near the road Yet overall we had a very good time in difficult circumstances mainly through the magnificent help of the wardens and the area around the site, lots of great walks, buses in and around Winchester, lovely villages and country pubs so whilst a bit of a transitional site for people getting ferries from Portsmouth and Southampton and people moving on off all the time the 3 weeks passed quite quickly and enjoyably The club needs to update this site ASAP but thanks for the help will use it again when visiting the kids

2 sites in 1

We stayed as a base to begin walking the South Downs Way, ideal location, easy walk into Winchester from site.  Site staff were lovely, always cheery and eager to help, we saw one warden direct a caravan driver to reverse onto a peg who clearly needed a lot of guidance.  Site is in 2 parts, top part clearly feels almost like a transit site for people only staying for short breaks but the lower tiered site has a lovely calm, relaxed holiday feel to it. Site is kept very clean but flat upper site could do with the loo block being updated. Pitches all level and easy to access.  Would definitely visit this site again to spend a weekend exploring Winchester itself.

Handy for the Motorbike Grand Prix

Very well laid out and kept site. Ideally situated for South Coast visits and Winchester. Unfortunately toilets and showers let it down probably should have been updated 10 years ago. Our pitch was as far from the A31 as possible but was still troubled by the sound of the traffic including lots of roaring motorbikes. The bus service into Winchester and Alton were very good with the bus stops close to site. Better signage on approach to site would help.
