Morn Hill

We had a pleasant few days at this club site. The staff are excellent and as always very hard working. The facilities are immaculately clean but definitely in need of upgrading. There are no hard standing pitches, which as we found on our last visit to the site at Easter is a problem for motorhome owners, many of whom needed to be towed from their pitch. There is also no internet access available at the site. Overall a good site in a great location in need of a bit of an upgrade

Well impressed...

Our first ever visit and stay on a Caravan Club site (new members this year) and I have to say we were impressed by the whole experience.  A fantastic welcome, lots of information about the park and the area provided at check-in, clean shower block and well maintained parkland.   Ok, you could say the showers could do with a refresh but they were clean, everything worked and there was plenty of hot water. We stayed on the site on the Thursday and Friday of the Boomtown Festival and were not disturbed by the noise, even the security guards at the entrance to Morn Hill were friendly, helpful and very polite and wished us a safe onward journey when we left. We had hired a motorhome for the first time (never caravanned) for the week and had a great time and already are planning our next trip out which will no doubt include a return visit to Morn Hill.

Tranquil oasis

We stayed here on 12th August 2016 at the same time as the pop festival nearby. Never heard any music etc. Only heard fire brigade when there was a fire in their car park. The staff at the site were very helpful and soon had us placed on a lovely pitch on the lower level. All the bathrooms etc were pristine although the site was around 75% occupied. This a delightful site and up to the very high standard we have come to expect on Caravan Club sites. Only thing we missed was no WIFI which these days is a must. We have no hesitation in recommending Morn Hill.

Morn Hill review

Stayed for two nights recently and only moved because of the music festival which was about to start nearby. Apart from that it was a very good site, quiet and peaceful. The facilities are kept very clean but the showers are rather small. We stayed on the upper level but I believe there is another facilities block on the lower level which is better again. The wardens that I dealt with were very helpful and friendly. There is a frequent bus service to Winchester which only takes about ten minutes. I would definitely stay here again. Winchester is a very nice town.

Ok for a short stay but:-

We stayed for five nights. The site is well laid out. To amplify what other members have said, the toilet blocks are dated and scruffy, but were found clean. The restricted number of showers and toilets is not really adequate for the number of pitches this site has. Busy times will have you waiting or chancing your luck later. TV reception from the lower part of the site was poor through the bog standard saucer aerial and amplifier. I found O2 3 and 4G signals weak in areas. Both issues that may or not be important to you. Access to Winchester is a doable walk down the road which has got a pavement, or partially through the conservation area before picking the road up. Alternatively the bus service is every 30 mins and a return £3.80. Bus stop is five minute walk from the camp sight. As others have indicated, the road noise is pervasive and continuous for the best part of the day and evening. Sitting quietly and reading a book is not the escape you hoped for, unless of course you live with traffic noise normally. We would stay again to see more of Winchester, but I hope the toilet blocks have at least had a coat of paint by then.

Fine for over night stay...

Wardens were very friendly, This is a very quiet site so not much going on for kids. We stayed here breaking our journey up traveling from Devon so it was ideal stop off.. wouldn't want to stay much longer with kids though. site clean and tidy, for such a large site only 2 showers is crazy, such a queue to wash and you feel very rushed when u know people are waiting. The shower block is really dated too!

Noisy and dated site

Appart from the lovely welcome by the lady in the office ( sorry i forgot to grab your name ) i find it difficult to be positive overall about this site. When we go away in our motorhome we do this to escape the noise and trappings of modern life. Unfortunately the location of this site so close to the very busy A31 there is constant Road noise even in the early hours alot of heavy Lorry and bus traffic and we were on the lower level of this site which is considered to be quieter. Both the upper toilet block and the lower block are really very dated, infact my partner refused to use them. I used the terribly desgined shower as i was drying myself someone turned on the shower in the cubicle next to me and the floor suddenly flooded with water. I was persuaded by the lovely lady on arrival at the site to just the Caravan Club - but to be honest am considering cancelling the membership after this site visit. To add to this and certainly not the sites fault but not one person spoke on the site, the usual 'Good Morning' as you pass people on the site was either met with a grunt or people ignoring us.

2nd chances

This is my 2nd visit to Morn Hill having vowed to find somewhere different. However, this stay was much better. The staff were friendly and we stayed on the upper level at the end where things were very tranquil and peaceful. OK so I used my caravan shower again as the facilities are a joke for a site so large...come on club, everyone is commenting on this! Any 1st time user MUST google the access off the roundabout. It is a treacherous entry/exit onto a busy road.

Too Many Moaners

Just spent 5 nights at the site. Having read the reviews before we booked we did wonder if we had made a mistake. However the site is fine - toilets and showers not the most modern but do the job. Wardens very helpful and obliging. We were on the upper section of the lower site and you can hear the noise from the adjoining road but it's not as bad as some would make out. Overall we think it's a good site so don't take too much notice of the moaners - I suppose you can't please all of the people all of the time !!!!
