My wife and I stayed at the site for 8 nights recently. This was our second stay. It is so beautifully positioned for Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth , Isle of Wight etc etc. It is a spacious site on the lower levels particularly and although the toilet block is dated it is well looked after and very clean as you would expect but harder work for the wardens I suspect. The staff are hard working and lovely and friendly and chatty and even on one occasion delivered our ordered newspaper as we went out early and got back late. You can hear traffic noise but on the lower levels at least is not particularly intrusive. We will certainly return for more stays. Incidentally it is very easy to find and access.
Excellent break
We needed somewhere for our Post Easter break. We wanted somewhere close to our grandson, daughter and son in law. Morn Hill provided a perfect location. We really appreciated the welcome and the peacefulness. In terms of location, fantastic for us, meeting our needs in every way. The site was super, well managed whilst retaining a rural ethos. Not too many manicured lawns. We love being able to pitch on grass, and we found the facilities to be adequate, yes perhaps dated, but adequate. We are so pleased a fellow caravanner recommended Morn Hill to us. We will be back. Thank you to the wardens who do a fabulous job keeping everyone happy, we were only sorry not to have taken up the offer of the Pizza. Next time
Graham and Angela.
A pleasant stay on a pleasant site with very friendly and helpful wardens.
The location is ideal for a base for touring but if you are a keen walker then be warned that there are no off road walks directly from the site, although there are plenty around the area.
We visited here for a quite few days whilst we familiarised ourselves with our new 'van, close to home in case we had forgotten anything.
Upon arrival the deputy wardens were extremely helpful. I asked for a quite pitch so our dogs would not disturb anyone. We found our pitch and all was well.
The facilities are a bit dated but are kept clean and worked fine for us.
The only problem we had was a couple of other visitors complained that our dog enclosure ( a professional quality product) was unsightly!! The wardens dealt with this in an excellent manner, just a shame some people can't enjoy their own lives without feeling the need to be petty towards others that are not affecting them.
I would suggest that the site is not overly exciting for children but is close to the motorway network for visiting other attractions and is ideal for those travelling further afield as a stop over.
Dog owners should be aware that the on site dog walk, whilst ok for 'exercising', is somewhat compact and walks from the site involve roads initially.
A fish/chip van visits on Friday evenings and pizza deliveries are also available some nights.
We will definitely revisit this site to explore more of the Winchester countryside and look forward to seeing the wardens again.

Short break
Lovely site, wardens very helpful and friendly. The fiacilities where kept clean but I feel four showers for this size site is not enough. Also the showers in the top area are really small very little room to move about in. Also the barrier to the lower area as broken and out of action. Apart from these smal points we enjoyed our stay and would use the site again.

Local Trip
A local-ish visit for us. Site perfectly adequate. Units these days have perfectly adequate shower facilities so left the site ones for the Tenters! Toilets clean so why worry - Wardens made us aware of Block issues when we arrived, so we knew about it.
2 comments I would make however, if you have a long motorhome with the drain on the offised rear its dificult to get on the MWP withough blocking the road - sorry to those who had to drive round.
Also being a fully grass site and with the new club policy of leaving the grass long its easy to skid with a largish motorhome especially when having to pull up onto ramps - think again on this policy please club! - less risk adverse and more user friendly (club, not necessarily site or Wardens)
Lovely site
Just spent the Easter week end (2017) at this site very good central location great to visit Winchester, New Forest and lots more,
Worsens very friendly and helpful only small gripe facilities need updating under stand this is in hand over all great siteđź‘Ť
Pleasantly Surprised
I was visiting family in the area for Easter and decided to stay at Morn Hill. The location is ideal, very close to the motorway network for those of us who prefer not to tow for miles around country lanes. The site is well maintained, and the welcome very friendly. The facilities are clean but do seriously need an update. The 2 showers in the top field are inadequate for around 50 pitches. Having said that, I only had to wait once for a shower to become available. I suspect most people must use their own facilities having read the reviews on here. The showers are also very small, with curtains that stick to your body as soon as you get in. I did not have an issue with road noise as I chose a pitch furthest away from the A31. Perhaps those people who complain about noise from birds need to find another leisure pursuit!
All in all a very pleasant stay - hope the lease gets sorted out in order to allow further investment from the Club. This site, with improved facilities, would be great.
IGNORE OTHER MOANING REVIEWS, THIS SITE IS LOVELY!!
Having just returned from Morn Hill after a delightful 6 night stay, I would like to say 'do not listen to all the moaning and whinging of others on these reviews'. My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time here, first off the wardens are lovely, helpful and attentive, brilliant with the children, (thanks wardens for the use of the donut). The site itself is really well kept, beautifully mown grass, pitches are a great size and contrary to popular belief is easy to find. (You should always Google street view before travelling as a matter of course) with regard to the 'crows' oh come on! PLEASE NOTE This site is in the countryside! Next people will complain about the tractors ploughing fields. As for the road noise, we live in deepest Devonshire and are used to not seeing any traffic, and staying here never bothered us, in fact having a main road near by is actually a bonus as you have less travelling to and fro. Finally to biggest 'moan' the shower block, we stayed in the bottom field so can only comment on that one, but our biggest criteria is that the facilities are clean, which they are, spotless in fact. Who cares if they are 50years old as long as they work and are clean surely that is what matters. Bearing in mind most units have a bathroom if the facilities are not up to your standard, use your onboard ones and leave the showers for us unfussy types. To be fair there was a boiler problem but that can happen to any of us at anytime and the wardens were aware and it was in hand. So summing up, brill site fantastic wardens, clean, friendly easy access to surrounding areas. So don't be a sheep, ignore the moaners and trip advisers, make your own mind up, give it a go, you will love it here.
Good site for long weekend to rest and relax
We stayed here 7 - 11 April, as our first trip of the season. We didn't want to travel too far on this first outing of season, so Morn Hill only being 45 mins from home was ideal. First time at this site, but we were relatively pleased. Site is spread over 4 levels. We picked our pitch on 2nd level down as it as closer to the on site dog walk. Grounds are kept neat and tidy, but facilities blocks are not as good as other CC sites we have stayed at. Wardens were very welcoming and friendly. Site can be a little noisy at times, with the nearby main road (A31) and crows nesting in a nearby tree, but apart from this site is relatively peaceful. Ideally located near Winchester and St Catherine's Hill (great for walks with or without dogs, so good for our dogs), both only 3 miles from site. Would come again for long weekends for rest and relaxation.
What a letdown
A new season and excited about our first outing, we chose Morn Hill for its convenience to Winchester and lovely countryside. How disappointing.
The club have been reluctant to spend any money upgrading the shower block facilities on the site for several years now apparently due to their inability to obtain a longer lease. However, with the site pretty busy during the first week of the season, there doesn’t seem to be any justification for the poor standard of the facility and what appears to be a complete lack of any maintenance during the closed season.
The two miserable showers offered in the top block are commented upon in other reviews already submitted this season but what is unacceptable on the third day of the site opening for the new season, is broken floor tiles with pieces missing in one shower and an obvious gap along the full length of the second shower base, the base obviously having settled, not forgetting that one of the two showers was out of use on our arrival, I also understand that the floor tiles in one of the ladies shower cubicles are loose. These unhygienic floor areas should have been rectified out of season.
In the tight space offered in the shower cubical I accidentally caught the temperature gauge and was immediately drenched with near boiling water, is it legal to have shower valves without a temperature limiter these days? What if an unsuspecting youngster does the same thing without the knowledge of what had happened?
In the bottom field toilet block there was no hot water on the occasion I went down there. I was told that the temperature on the shower valves needed adjusting but as there was no hot water in any of the sink taps either who knows!!.
