Good for Winchester...

Stayed 3 nights over a weekend to visit family in Winchester. No need to drive or use P&R unless coming back after 8pm - just easy 10 min stroll to bus stop then 7 mins to town. I'm a light sleeper and traffic noise was intrusive - seemed to go into the early hours, but then that's the compromise with the convenient location. The facilities are just about OK, but as every comment in the visitors book said, it's high time they were upgraded. Surprised there was no response on behalf of TCC. Otherwise site is clean, staff friendly and efficient. Would stay again -with earplugs!

Nice Site

Stayed 5 nights including the weekend. Plenty of space between pitches. Lots of noise from the A31 over the weekend mainly from motorbikes. However, quiet during the week. Overall a very good site but toilet/shower block in need of a long overdue extension; Only 2 showers in Male and 2 in Female.

Nice quiet site

Visited for a 2 night stay, site was full surprisingly for end Sept.  Nice large grass pitches, could drive around and choose own pitch which we liked.  Nice and clean site, very friendly and helpful staff.  Chip van on Friday night. Quiet and peaceful except can here nearby busy road.  Definitely going to use again, only  2 showers could do with a couple more

Great location for a pre/post ferry stop.

We used Morn Hill as an overnight stop after a Portsmouth ferry crossing.  Booking in was performed with the usual club efficiency, being a one night stay a pitch had been allocated to us on the lower site, which despite being full was very quiet night.  Facilities blocks were in easy reach of all pitches and were clean and well kept.   Winchester is just a 10 minute drive from the site, with motorhome parking available on the nearby P&R.  Southampton, The New Forest and Portsmouth are all within 45 minutes, making the site a good base for visiting the area.  We would visit again.

Ideal for visiting Winchester and South Coast1

Overall a nice clean quiet site except for some noise from the main road nearby.  The toilets are clean but  I do feel that more showers are required. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Convenient Stopover

Very handy for southampton and Portsmouth ferries. Pleasant site and wardens were lovely. Very convenient for Winchester and Romsey which are both worth a visit. Facilities as usual were very clean, but so dated. Bit like going back 20 years. We stayed two nights on way to Isle of Wight and this worked really well for us as we were travelling down from Orrell in Lancashire. Will definitely use it agai for a similar journey.

Still well impressed...

Having visited Morn Hill six weeks ago in a hire Motorhome and been impressed by our first ever visit to a Caravan Club site we decided to return and stay for the first night in our new Motorhome. Just as previously, everything was just as you would want, great reception from the wardens, clean and tidy site with very clean facilities. As we said in our last review, the toilets and showers could do with a refurb but they were spotless with plenty of hot water. We have no problem recommending the site to anyone although we can't make any comments about it being family friendly as finally all of our kids have flown the nest....

Last Minute Change

We were originally booked in for three nights, but when it came to it we arrived two days early. The phone call to the site was met cheerfully and a pitch was available for the extended earlier stay. We chose the lower bottom field, backing on to why we thought would be a virtually unused little lane. Not so, used apparently as a rat-run, but not as noisy as the A31. This site is very well positioned for visits to Winchester and Alresford. Winchester for sightseeing and Alresford for pubs and restaurants. On the way to site the water pump (engine) went on our motorhome. The wardens put us in touch with a local garage at Alresford and a same day replacement was completed. We enjoyed the violent thunderstorms throughout one night, and we a bit concerned that we might 'float' our way to the lane. Although soggy we were able to leave two days later without any problem. I agree with the toilet/shower block needing updating, but very clean and maintained by the wardens beautifully. A lot of time spent on making the grass look good, but a few hardstandings would improve this site. First visit, but will be back.

September 2016

We booked four nights at Morn Hill, as we have family in the Winchester area. The site is in two halves, separated by a private track. There are no hard standing pitches so getting on and off a site can be a challenge in wet weather. Can't fault the wardens - helped me with a set of jump leads to sort out a flat battery. But the site needs some investment before I visit again - hard standings and motorhome service points on both sites required, as there is only one badly located service point in the upper field (ok though if your campervan/motorhome is no more than 3 meters long!). The site is also quite noisy, being under the flight path to Southampton Airport and the adjacent 'A' road seems to be a favourite race track for the locals. Upper field toilet block very clean but needs refurbishing.

Bit Noisy

We took advantage of the Clubs isle of Wight 4 night stay and used Morn Hill as a stopover for 2 nights. The direction signs need renewing and replacing. The book got us there but the signs need to be actually before the roundabout not tucked down the lane. After going round the island three time the wife spotted the sign and the builders place. Noise was an issue for us. Right by the A31 and it got a bit intrusive. We didnt venture far and the traffic over the weekend was very busy. Ideally placed for the IOW ferry which is about half an hour away. Bus into Winchester nearby and for the railway buffs a local branch line. Oh. Some writer or other has a house nearby and I was nearly murdered when the OH found out. I truely hadn't seen it. It was a nice place to stay, wardens as ever were excellent and very helpful, the site was under going some maintenence while we were there. Another one to revisit and maybe the powers that be will spend some of their pennies on the toilet block. Tired is the kind way of putting it but still clean and functional
