Dull few days at Moreton

Whilst we have loved this site in the past we have slightly fallen out of love with it this time.   The town is lovely and the location of the site is an easy walk into the town.   The trees on this site spoilt our short holiday.   We were under an oak tree and on the two hour spell when we had sun on our pitch we were bombarded with acorns, the rest of the time it was very dark and our awning and caravan are now covered in bird deposits, also pitches are very, very tight.   Having said that we had a lovely day out in Stratford, caught the 9.30am bus outside the site entrance (using bus pass!!)   Came back on the 3.05pm bus.   There isn't a 4pm bus, the next one is 5.05pm and I imagine you cannot use your pass to return as it may be peak time.   Walked down the river to the "Dirty Duck", couldnt believe we had a pint of beer, half a lager and lime and two haddock bakes for less than £17.  To sum things up we feel we don't want to return until some daylight is let into the site.

Trees in need of pruning

Have just returned from a lovely week at this site. My criticism is that there does seem to be a lot of trees overshadowing the pitches and cutting out precious sunlight, looks like they could do with a good prune back. A real annoyance when it rains heavy and pine cones etc are playing a tattoo on the roof of the van. Majority of pitches are under trees so creating damp conditions, (unless you are lucky enough to get one out in the open, mainly on the left side of the site). Also the screening trees around the edges are very tall and again cut sunlight out, maybe they could be trimmed at the top. I know this is a lot of expensive work, but it will only get worse. Having said all of this we have always enjoyed the site, the team are very friendly and helpful and everything is always clean and tidy and handy for town and visiting the area.

Busy Moreton

This was our 4th visit here and we have enjoyed every one. We forgot how tiny the pitches are. It was rather busy this September, almost full in fact, and had little choice than to choose a pitch that backed on to the A44. Thundering lorries and traffic all day and through the night often preventing conversation. Anyway the site is pretty and central for the north Cotswolds. If you can find a pitch away from the road noise then this would be bliss. The wardens are very friendly and helpful, toilet blocks spotless. Excellent dog exercise field, and kids play area. Moreton-in-Marsh town is a few minutes walk away and is a typical quaint Cotswold village. This is one of our favourite sites to visit at Christmas/New year, so will be back again sometime.

Great location

Lovely site with the high standards that you come to expect with Club sites. Morton in Marsh is a 10 min walk from the site & there are plenty of shops & pubs. Also a great base for exploring the the Cotswolds towns such as Broadway which is approx 20 mins drive. There is a large dog walking field here & plenty of dog lovers if your that's your thing. The site also allows a mobile pizza van to visit regularly. We are 2 days into our trip & feel that we made a good choice.

Five days away

We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Morton. The site was clean and friendly. We were on pitch 120 which was directly underneath power cables - the pigeons loved to sit on the wire and poop on our roof - amazingly noisy and messy. But otherwise, an enjoyable stay in a central location - lots of beautiful cotswold villages within a short drive. The Tuesday market was good too. The site is big - around 180 pitches which are relatively close together - but we would certainly come again - just not on pitch 120.

Great Site

This was our third visit over a number of years. Great site in lovely condition with a wonderful group of wardens. The location is great with so many places to visit without having to drive miles. One of our top sites and no doubt we will visit again in the future.

Excellent site

This is an excellent site in a very pleasant location. Unable to comment on family need as we avoid visiting sites other than during term time as bicycles and badly behaved children are an off put. Sorry, perhaps I should say badly behaved parents who do not control their offspring. The site is well maintained and the wardens are really helpful. Loos are immaculate as expected. We will certainly revisit this site.
