Another first rate stay at Morton

2nd time we've been this year, and whilst the British weather did its best to damped our spirits. We had a really enjoyable time.   The site well maintained, and the facilities are well maintained and clean. The wardens are just wonderful. Very helpful and pleasant.   Only minor issues were, at times the water in the washing areas was not as hot as I'd like.   My daughter who was also staying in her van was shouted at by a senior member of the community about bringing our granddaughter into the toilets ( she's two and toilet trained )  Saying children shouldn't be allowed in the toilet block and should be confined to one area of the site.  What an idiot.  The site is ideal for children. Good play area and child washing facilities  The pitches near the road side can be noisy, and at weekends the site gets very busy.  But overall this is a gem of site

Disappointing for us!

We tend to agree with Alfiesmom! The Pitches seem very small. By the time we parked our 7.5m caravan, then a porch awning there was very little room to park our Insignia which ended up only just on the pitch in front of our outfit. Therefore our view was our car! The pitches are not really suitable for todays size caravans and cars The only pitch available was near a noisy road where people race along at max speed, especially the motorbikes! The staff were lovely and friendly and the site was a short walk away from the lovely Cotswold village, Moreton- in -Marsh. We wont be returning until the pitches are improved which I hope the Caravan club take on board these comments, although as it is a very busy, popular site I'm not sure they would feel the need to do this.

Chose the wrong pitch

Last time we visited this site was about 13 years ago. Site is only 40mins from home, so ideal to have a break in between 10 hospital appointments over 12 weeks for my husband, who needed a much needed break. Unfortunately for us we chose the wrong pitch as it rained every day and night heavily off and on all week. The inside rear of our awning flooded every day, it did drain when rain stopped but as soon as rain started again it flooded. We noticed many pitches were also very wet. We will not be returning as we feel pitches need attention, such as more gravel to make them higher and more level. We felt this well need break was more of an endurance exercise, which we didn't need. Wardens were really friendly, very clean facilities, and very easy, level walk into a lovely market town with lovely shops and places to eat, the Black Bear Inn is very reasonably priced for food of good standard and portions. Would return if caravan club choose to spend some money on much needed attention to excessive wet pitches. We also found pitches were narrow and cars had to be parked across the front of the pitches which made it look more like a car park, which is a shame as the site has plenty of room to make improvements.

Wet Week

My wife and I have just had a perfect holiday at Moreton-in-Marsh. My wife is partially disabled so a flat pitch near the toilet block is preferred. All the staff were excellent and site immaculate. I don't know how they do it as the site seemed full all the time. Keep up the good work. We will be back hopefully on a dryer week.

Returning

This was our consecutive 3rd visit to this site and would return again. Always friendly and welcoming with easy access to all the cotwold attractions and villages. Short walk from Moreton In Marsh village where you will find lovely local independent shops and cafes including a fantastic toy shop. Very clean well looked after site and always a pleasure to stay. I would however like to see more small children friendly equipment in the play area. The shower blocks are clean but could do with a few more loos and showers by maybe sacrificing 2 or 3 sink cubicles which never appear to be used. We will definately revisit as we have found this site to be one of the best the caravan club have. Highly recommended.

Revisit

We stayed at this site last year & thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as we were lucky enough to get a pitch in the middle of the site which is much quieter. However, we revisited again this week & as only a few spaces were available, we had to pitch by the road which was very noisy until late in the evening & started again about 5am. The facilities block now needs some upgrading, the shower curtains that wrap around you are so outdated & anoying, although clean, not really up to modern standards now. On a positive note, the wardens were extremely friendly & helpful as per usual, & we walked from the site into town very easily which is very useful as we have a large motorhome.

First time at Moreton

Our first stay at Moreton for a long weekend; we had previously stayed at Broadway because we like the Cotswolds. The site is very close to Moreton probably a 5 minute walk.  The facilities are very good and considering the size of the site the shower blocks never seemed to be overbusy.  Ideal for the north and east of the Cotswolds.
