Great site, great location!

If you own a motorhome you do tend to rely on the site being close to amenities or at least a cycle ride away. Here the site is just on the edge of Moreton in Marsh and is accessible with a short walk along a well lit pavement. This is great for evenings or pub visits. I am sure that any visitor will love the little market town as a nice place to be. The site is currently having work completed to the East shower block and some pitches. However, this is all quite discreet and should have no effect on your stay apart from the open part of the site feeling quite full. The pitches are on the small side with some caravanners struggling to park their cars. The main road is great for access and quite busy but did not present a noise issue. As always the site is beautifully maintained and all the staff are warm and friendly people. It all adds up to a great base for a fantastic holiday in the Cotswolds. Have a great time!

Lovely part of the Cotswolds

This was our first visit to this site in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds. A very large site, the wardens were very helpful and the shower block was warm and clean. We have a large caravan and found the pitches very small - although we were on a hard-standing with awning pitch, if we had erected the awning there would have been nowhere to park the car without encroaching on the road. Due to heavy rain, parking on the grass would not have been a sensible option. Also, the gravel on the pitches was a very thin layer, insufficient to stop the pitch being waterlogged and muddy. I think we were unlucky in having a very noisy family pitched behind us. It's the first time we've experienced that on a club site. Would we go back - maybe. I think overall we prefer the Broadway site.

First Stay at Moreton in Marsh

Although we joined the Caravan Club in July when we purchased Mable, our first motorhome this is the first time we have used a CC site. We were so impressed with our greeting on arrival by the site staff, all the facilities were clean warm, and welcoming. As we have a dog it was great to have an area to let her off the lead and became quite a social event for dogs and their owners. Everyone we met (canine and human) were very friendly. The walk into Moreton in Marsh is short and as said before " ideally on walking back at night although there is a good path you need a torch as there isn't any street lighting". As my husband and I are novices at setting up, every trip we learn something new, but thank you to our neighbour after hooking up electric, which didn't seem to work , checked are trip and fuses (sounds like we know what we are looking for 🤔) he came and told us "we needed to turn the adapter on the post" and then there was light !! So thank you. Also a very BIG thank you for all who work on this site as it is a credit to them. As this sight is only just over an hour from home I can see us being regulars.

January stay at Morton in Marsh

This was our first experience at a Caravan Club site and it did not disappoint. Having only just joined the club it was all new to us, and all good. Made to feel very welcome at reception, nothing too much trouble and everything explained very well. We chose our pitch in a quiet corner enjoyed peace and quiet, a stunning sunset and birds feeding outside our MH in the morning. The shower block was excellent and spacious, hairdriers and separate showers, basins as well as toilets and all very clean and warm. The service points were easy to use and refuse point had many dustbins for recycling waste. All in all, a first class experience within easy walking distance lovely rural Cotswold town.

Christmas at Moreton-in-Marsh

Had a lovely Christmas here in a beautiful area of England. The site is large but we tucked ourselves away in a corner and thoroughly enjoyed meeting our neighbours - lots of sheep! We really enjoyed our stay, the site is clean and the wardens were helpful and hard-working. There are lots of terrific restaurants, shops and pubs in easy reach of the site. One of our outstanding highlights of the stay was winning the 'Best decorated caravan' competition! Thank you for that. I think we will be back soon. Almost forgot - we loved the Oscar-winning cat and hope to see him next time we come.

Christmas at moreton

Just returned from a week in Moreton .A lovely clean site close to Moreton in marsh, plenty of walking oppotunities to Batsford and surrounding areas. We arrived Boxing Day to a cheerful and warm welcome from the warden. They even put some entertainment on on New Year's Eve although we did not go I am sure it was enjoyed by those who did. Moreton is a busy site and only critisism would be that the pitches are small and could do with some tlc but we will be visiting again this year we thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Perfect

This was our maiden voyage in our new Motorhome. Only an hour from home in Northamptonshire, we wanted a site not far away with all facilities considering it was December and our first trip. Everything from calling to make the booking to departure after a perfect 2 night stay. Super friendly helpful staff, thank you. Location perfect a very short stroll into town, little tip take a torch, thankfully we had remembered, it was rather foggy so that didn't help. Moreton is a lovely little town with plenty of great places to eat and drink and a few independent shops. Bonus was the band in The Bell on Saturday night, great fun and the Works Christmas party group were very entertaining. We managed a couple of bike rides, great for me, 10 mile flat circuit ideal for the beginner. Will definitely be back in the spring summer to see the Cotswolds in all their glory. The on site Facilities were so clean, better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in big thank you to all the staff, amazing job.

A good winter base

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Moreton over a weekend. When we pulled in to the site we were met with a fantastic display of illuminations for the Christmas season. Well done to the wardens for providing the Christmas cheer. Site was quiet because of the time of year and so there was plenty of space and we didn't feel overcrowded by others. A nice easy stroll into Moreton helped for some Saturday Christmas shopping with a craft fair in the town hall and a brass band playing in the Budgens supermarket. All the shop owners were very friendly and welcoming. Facilities were all kept excellent as mentioned in several other reviews and sensibly during the coming week, because of low numbers predicted on site, the wardens were closing one of the toilet blocks to reduce their workload slightly. The site proved ideal for us as a winter getaway with hard standing and heated facilities but even though we pitched towards the back of the site the road noise from the A44 is quite prominent. Probably wouldn't bother some people but we do prefer somewhere that is more peaceful without the constant noise of traffic in the background. The TV link from the hook up bollard worked well for us and was very welcome with a wet Saturday afternoon and long evenings. Well done to the wardens for keeping the grounds so tidy which can't be an easy job during the winter with so much rain, leaves, mud and wind.

Great for exploring the Cotswolds

We had no problems with TV (our friends did, we have a directional aerial), didn't use Wifi (our friends did with no problems on Iplayer). We were in a pitch close to the entrance and were no affected by any road noise. Wardens are very friendly and helpful. Moreton is a short walk away and is a very pleasant little town. (I only gave 4 for good for families as we don't have any kids but the playground looked big enough for a game of football/rounders/rugby). Very centrally located to visit the real cotswoldy (sic) Cotswolds. Will stay here again.

fab little site

Stayed here in November - what a gem of a site. 5 minutes walk to the town with lots of dog friendly pubs :) a nice dog walk on site (for a quick run and toiletting) and a lovely 3.5 mile round trip across the fields which ends up back in the town. The washrooms are spotless and lovely and warm. There is a little road noise but it didn't bother us at all. The reception for the TV is very poor, but we used an aerial (purchased on site) to plug into the bollard and this cured the problem instantly. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with any query - will definitely stay here again
