Some areas need updating

As others have commented there are lots of positives about this site but also a few negatives. Some of the pitches are large and well spaced but in some areas they are very cramped with narrow roadways and because cars have to be parked in front of outfits it makes manovering difficult. The area we were on felt a little like a carpark. There is also quite a bit of road noise. The club are erecting camping pods at the back of the site in a quiet open aspect area which will be available to rent by members of the general public. I really feel that they should be improving facilities for members and not turning us into the Motorhome Caravanning and Camping Pod Club.

A Cotswold Gem

A lovely, well-maintained site. Staff very friendly. Very well situated for exploring the Cotswolds - especially as we have a motorhome and like to explore by public transport. The mobile pizza and fish and chip vans were excellent and very popular. Will certainly be coming again.

April Stay

We stopped here for 3 nights in April. Lovely site which is very peacefully and relaxing. A short work into Moreton in marsh. Less than 5 minutes where you'l find plenty on offer. Market days on Tuesdays are worth a visit. The site is within easy commute to Bicester, Warwick and the Cotwolds which we traveled to during our stay. The site has great shower block, a good size childrens play area and a crazy golf course. The dog walk is good with a large secured field to allow them to run about. I would highly recommend the pizza van which turns up on site. Top quality pizza!!

Great place to forget the car.

Great weekend, friendly and very helpful wardens, like the way they suggested available pitches to suit my caravan and needs. Great place to forget the car as everything is in walking distance. Great for both long and short walks, with easy acess from site for the family and the dog. Finishing off in the village for a few refreshments from the welcoming pubs. Can wait for our next visit.

Watch out for the birds

We have stayed at this site on several occasions in the past so I was looking forward to visiting here again. A warm and cheerful greeting from the wardens on our arrival was a good start. We had planned to get two pitches together as other members of the family were joining us. We chose pitches 17 & 18 as these were reasonably close to the toilet block and would present no problems to my OH whose walking abilities are limited. For me pitch 18 was a bad choice as it was partly underneath a large Oak tree. For the entire stay (8 nights) we were being hit by small branches falling from the tree. I really believe this tree would benefit from some tree surgery. I realise that in these times of austerity some cut backs are inevitable, smaller pitches were obvious everywhere on site since my last visit, but don't cut back on safety. When we got home the worst was yet to come, bird droppings everywhere on the roof of the van and the awning. What a mess. An hour and a half's cleaning still did not remove all of it. I don't hold the club responsible for that, birds will be birds but at he end of the day it all adds up to a spoilt holiday. Whatever you do avoid pitch 18.

Nice first weekend of June

We try to visit this site at least once a year as we are only 50 miles away, it is a very pleasant site and you have easy walking distance to Morton. There is a busy market on the right day, supermarket, a lovely fudge/sweet shop, pubs, restaurants, takeaways and a chip shop all you could need close by but far enough away to not be intrusive. The shop owners and pub staff are very friendly and helpful and the town feels very welcoming. Bev had a mishap with her glasses at work on the Friday and the local optician sorted it all out for her at minimal cost. There is a bus stop outside if you want to go further afield making it ideal for motor home users and this shows, there is a high proportion of motor homes always on site. The facilities are clean and tidy but when site is full they will start to show their heavy use later at night and in the morning before they are cleaned again. The Dog walk is excellent lots of space to let your 4 legged friend of the lead and nice short grass. There are some comments here about some pitches being a bit cramped and I must admit that would be a fare criticism. Having the caravan tow cars parked across the front of the van rather than the side adds to the feel of everyone jammed in when site is full. There are lots of birds and rabbits abound which I find a nice touch, (but that’s just me). It says a lot when we visit at least once a year it is a fantastic site and if you can get past the slight feeling of being cramped on some pitches you will love it there.

Excellent Wardens - but pitches cramped

Our first visit to this site and the Wardens are excellent. Well done. The site was full and it was midweek and not in school holidays so it must be a very popular one. The pitch we managed to get (only choice of 2 when we arrived) was very cramped and sideways onto other caravans on a slope, so consequentially the caravans opposite were overlooking us so no privacy. The pebbles on our pitch were sparse and the hardstanding itself was very tiny only just enough space to get our van on. Facilities were kept clean and once we found the dog walk it was a good one. Bought a pizza from the pizza van on our second night and the man serving was one of the most miserable people I have ever been served by. Needs to go on a customer care course. Also £6 for a 10" pizza which was burnt on the bottom - not very good value for money. Very easy access into Moreton which is fantastic, and has a lovely market day, and good dog friendly pubs. We would visit again but would hopefully have a better pitch next time.

Dogs and children not under control

Wonderfully located site within walking distance of Moreton. Site wardens and staff very welcoming and main areas well maintained. Feel there are not enough showers for an almost full to capacity bank holiday weekend and had to queue at times especially as you pay extra for this period! I also wish the wardens were as zealous with noisy dogs and children cycling round and round access roads as they are with enforcing the 5mph speed limit? On Friday someone's dogs were yapping every twenty minutes each time people passed their pitch, setting off all other dogs in the vicinity. Why bring your dog if they can't behave properly. The other tragedy is the abundance of Wood Pigeons who droppings littered the roadways and pitch areas. This gets trodden into the toilet blocks and into your outfit to. Shame, it should be a five star site.
