Our favourite site

This is our favourite site handy for the Village & Stratford & all the other nice Villages that make the Cotswolds, But Site didn't look the same the Hanging Baskets round the Office were Pathetic & it's the end of June, there not going to win any awards this year!

Moreton - who wants more?

Stephanie and I spent two nights here at Moreton-in-Marsh, and loved it. The site: if the season is fairly dry (as for our visit) it would be hard to beat Moreton-in Marsh as an excellent get-away place. Well maintained with accessible pitches, we encountered none of the issues reported in earlier reviews. The facilities: these are modern and well maintained, the wardens doing an excellent job. The town: this is delightful, preferable in character (we think) to Broadway. The Tuesday market is not to be missed, and even if not in the mood for shopping, you will be tempted by the plethora of stalls. We bought excellent steak for BBQ at the friendly Checketts Family Butcher 24 High Street. Attractions: take the walk to Batsford, and just before the arboretum visit the Cotswold Falconry Centre to watch Chris fly the raptors. This was utterly fascinating, and provides a highlight for visitors of all ages, with the opportunity to meet the birds hand-to-glove.

Don't normally do reviews but ....

We are here on this lovely site, and want to give an honest appraisal, firstly the good. The site is great for me having three dogs, lovely contained dog run, set aside from the play area, the cafes and bars have made us very welcome even when coming in with huge muddy paws. Local off lead walks are amazing. Wifi excellent. Now the bad bits: You will need a 25M long electricity lead as the posts on the pitches we saw are a long way from the pitches. We had to buy one for £38 from the shop. We had no TV reception but again needed a long coaxial cable which I doubt many would have. Again the shop will sell you one for £15. Looking at the number of new white cables going to outfits I would suggest that nearly everyone had the same issues. There are some more private pitches BUT mainly we seem to be packed in too tightly, with little room to manoeuvre in and out. Would I come again? Yes, but not in high season.

A Busy Site

We stayed here for seven nights in May, when unfortunately it managed to rain every single day! However, despite our hardstanding becoming a rather soggystanding due to water running off the road onto our pitch, we had a pleasant stay. It is a huge site and a bit like a maze. Facilities were good but my main issue is that there is a shortage of service points. In particular I had to walk some distance for the CEP at the toilet block where I had the dubious privilege of having to queue on three or four occasions to use it (at 8 am in the morning). In summary therefore the infrastructure needs improving to cope with the numbers on site. Loads to do in the area and it was nice to be able to stroll into Moreton where there were plenty of cafes and restuarants. The play area looked fun for youngsters and the dog walk looked good too.

Some areas need updating

As others have commented there are lots of positives about this site but also a few negatives. Some of the pitches are large and well spaced but in some areas they are very cramped with narrow roadways and because cars have to be parked in front of outfits it makes manovering difficult. The area we were on felt a little like a carpark. There is also quite a bit of road noise. The club are erecting camping pods at the back of the site in a quiet open aspect area which will be available to rent by members of the general public. I really feel that they should be improving facilities for members and not turning us into the Motorhome Caravanning and Camping Pod Club.

A Cotswold Gem

A lovely, well-maintained site. Staff very friendly. Very well situated for exploring the Cotswolds - especially as we have a motorhome and like to explore by public transport. The mobile pizza and fish and chip vans were excellent and very popular. Will certainly be coming again.

April Stay

We stopped here for 3 nights in April. Lovely site which is very peacefully and relaxing. A short work into Moreton in marsh. Less than 5 minutes where you'l find plenty on offer. Market days on Tuesdays are worth a visit. The site is within easy commute to Bicester, Warwick and the Cotwolds which we traveled to during our stay. The site has great shower block, a good size childrens play area and a crazy golf course. The dog walk is good with a large secured field to allow them to run about. I would highly recommend the pizza van which turns up on site. Top quality pizza!!
