Needs revamping

Been here recently, site near town excellent. Roadways inside site badly in need of repair, toilet blocks are OK, pitches are very small, caravan and awning on pitch and car going across front which narrows the roadway down considerably for others to reverse onto vacant pitches. Went on to another site further south and the pitches were huge. Now there appears to be antagonism against dog owners here, my dog is always on a short lead and only barks when disturbed, but this obviously is too much here. Kids go up and down, up and down roadways on bikes and skateboards making a noise upsetting my dog. Balls bouncing wonderful - not. Children are just as annoying as dogs if you don't have them, parents just set up, pour a drink and forget they have children with them. My dog always stays inside the caravan and is not staked outside, parents do the same and stop annoying others. Been on other sites and its like a race track.

Busy site with lots of early arrivals and dogs but perfectly placed near the town.

This site with its many cul de sacs and twists and turns was very busy during our first visit and like all other sites the number of dogs and multiple dogs about and barking at each other all day is not very pleasant. Having said that the position within walking distance of the town and even across the fields to the arboretum and falconry centre is just about perfect. The toilet block was clean and tidy and in good condition and the wardens friendly and efficient. We messed up our leaving day and they were understanding and accommodating. There do seem to be lots of early arrivals but I guess being as busy as they are thats not surprising but a bit off-putting if your a short stay tourer arriving on stated earliest checkin time and on-spec with no booking. Would certainly stay here again and even try and get my dates correct. Some pitches are pretty small but you pays yer money and takes yer chances as always.

REALLY NICE SITE

Visited this site mid July, third time we have been here, we were greeted by a really friendly lady warden who was very helpful and made it very easy for us to find a suitable pitch. pitches are a nice size and very level, the facilities were always spotless and clean, plenty of water taps dotted around the site as well, all in all just right. Moreton is a nice little town and is only a short walk away, whilst here we visited Banbury Steam Fair, Banbury is an easy drive away and not hard to get to, the other Cotswolds villages are easily reached, making this site an ideal centre for sightseeing around the area, its also a good place to chill out if you do not want to do much. will almost certainly come back here sometime or other and cannot praise it high enough.

First but not last

This was our first visit to this site, on recommendation. We were very impressed indeed. Lovely welcome from the hosts. Wonderful undisturbed sleep. Within easy walking distance to Moreton-in-Marsh itself, which is a pleasant town with several individual shops, restaurants and pubs. Great market on a Tuesday morning. Shame about the bus service which is rather intermittent, big gaps between the services. Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway not to be missed. Looking forward to another visit.

Disappointing

We have visited many sites over the years but never been met with such a rude attitude and to jump down my throat making me feel very upset whilst walking through the park to get to exit with my dog. It was uncalled for and not sure I will return to the site whilst they are wardens, which is a shame Broadway and Cirencester are far more friendly and a much cleaner environment to spend our weekends away.

Below par

We have been visiting this site for many years and it's usually an enjoyable experience. As previous reviews have stated, the wardens are very friendly but sadly that's not enough to keep members coming back. Poor standards throughout the site and the wardens looked very dispondent. Tight and scruffy pitches. People cutting through pitches, including the wardens -not setting a good example! Early arrivals and I mean EARLY. We were there's for 9 days and vans we're arriving as early as 10.30am and being let on site. Wardens can't use the excuse of queues and congestion because there might only be two outfits. It wasn't a one off either, it happened most mornings. Speaking to a chap in the laundry he said it was a regular occurrence and fairly common knowledge now hence his arrival the day before at 10.15am. I've been sent away from sites for being 10 mins early after a 200 mile journey, so this is setting a precedence which is quickly getting out of control and unfair to other members who try to abide to the rules.

Not quite as we remembered it but still a good site.

We stayed the weekend after May bank holiday 3 nights early June ( Fri - Mon) in our motorhome along with my parents who stayed in theirs. Having spent weeks trying to get into site at weekend as it’s so busy, I have to say as our first visit to this usual favourite site, this year we were somewhat disappointed. Not with the wardens who were as ever friendly and helpful and we received a warm greeting on arrival as we have so many times before. The standards of cleanliness and repair and upkeep of the site were somewhat of shock. The toilets, showers and washing up areas were clean but could do with a spruce up and lick of paint. The disappointment came from the poor state of the pitches, hard standing pitches which were lacking in hardstanding in places, squeezed into some tight and unusual places, it felt cramped which we have nevertheless experienced before. The grass was in desperate need of cutting, I appreciate it Waac a wet May, however we had three very dry days and in that time saw no grassing cutting, up a hive activity “hovering pathways & the roads”. Tree’s in desperate need of a trim and cutback, as this too made the pitches seem very small. My mother in law had dog faeces oh her pitch that had clearly been there for a number of days and is graded teabags - simply what we expect from th CAMC. Overall standards seemed to have dropped, children charging around on bikes on the roads completely ignoring the bike & scooter policy, at times I was sure there was going to be an accident with a car or motorhome. People cutting through pitches rather than walking around, not something the wardens can do anything about but irritating none the less. Also there was building work being completed on site, and we had hoped this was for new possibly larger fully serviced pitches, but alas no this is for glamping pods...not sure about that...unless we are due another name change Caravan, Motorhome and Glamping Club CMAGC 😂😂 Still a good site and very well located, perfect for a walk into Moreton, great local facilities with restaurants, bars and pubs a good selection of local shops and super markets. A cheese shop to die for. Just a little sad that the frequency of the buses had changed and were running less frequently to both Stow on the wold and Bourton on the water - a sign of the times I’m afraid.

Love this site, but could do with a lift..

Moreton-in-Marsh is one of our favourite sites. But is not without its faults.. you do at times feel crammed in, the pitches are on the small side and the toilet facilities are getting tired. However the ambience created by the hedges and trees help to give the feeling of space. The facilities are clean it’s a shame that other customers don’t clean the shower after they have been.. The location is lovely the cotwolds on your doorstep.. we will be returning...

Not the usual standard

Just stayed on site over the bank holiday for 3 nights Sunday - Wednesday. Very cramped where we were. We only had Caravan and car and had nowhere to sit out. Imagine my surprise when a motor home then came to use what little space there was, near the toilet block behind us. I couldn’t believe this was a designated pitch. Overgrown grass and a general run down feeling like some of the rougher commercial style sites. Electric went off on first night. We were only watching tv, no other electric in use as still light. It was 9 0 clock ish and couldn’t find a duty warden sign anywhere on warden caravans to get assistance so my husband spent half an hour with a screwdriver fixing the setup himself. It wasn’t a simple ‘ switch back on’ situation. Not offered or told about toddler wash room despite having twin toddlers with us. Found out about it off another member who gave me the code. Now on Broadway, up the road, and it’s miles better. Much more what we are used to.
