Great short stay.

Just visited this site and found the welcome on arrival a good experience. Warm and friendly, informative staff very willing to assist us nubbies. Unfortunately we picked a plot under the trees and our rig got covered in bird pooh. Not the sites problem. I got splattered by a big fat wood Pidgeon - supposed to be lucky!!!. My brother joined us with his grandchildren who enjoyed the treasure hunt, crazy golf, and children's play area. Pizza and fish and chip vans were fantastic value. . Staff work long hours and still keep very customer focused. Will deffo be back. Well done Moreton in Marsh team. Nigel Hall

Great bank holiday

What a fantastic break, we visited Moreton on the last Bank Holiday. On arrival we were greeted by the staff and were given very clear guidance on what pitches were available and how to navigate round the park. We found a fantastic pitch on the Grass which after reading recent reviews thought might be a bad idea, but thankfully the pitch was firm and we got the trailer tent set up quickly. The kids went off to explore the playground which is still in great condition and I walked the dog on the huge dog walking fields. The facilities were excellent and clean as said in other reviews it seems like a few members don't know how to mop. The site is nice and quiet at night only spoiled by the noise from the road. Having the Aldi in the village now is fantastic for shopping and we were really impressed with the range they stocked, also having the tesco express and co-op is great for those late night / sunday essentials you forgot. While at Moreton we visited the Cotswold wildlife park a fantastic place to visit our only advice is the roads get clogged on busy days and our 30 min trip there took 2 hours. So go early

Good but now needs some money spending

We have been going to Moreton in Marsh for years and numerous times a year. I have to agree with the below and while the wardens do a fantastic job, facilities etc are spotless, the club now need to invest some money into what is a very popular site. More gravel on pitches for a start. Great site though and we will be back as always. Oh - and the tree trim/removal seems to have made such a difference - Top work!

Bank Holiday Break

Have just spent 5 enjoyable nights at this sight. We have to whole heartily agree with everything the previous reviewer has said, the CAMC most definitely have to sort the size and condition of the pitches out considering the price they are charging.

Hardworking Team

We spent 5 nights at this site and can’t praise all the staff enough. Everyone was friendly , helpful and welcoming and work extremely hard to keep the site up to a good standard. Facilities were alway well kept as was the site. This site is nicely placed for exploring The Cotswolds, with quite good bus links and a good rail service too. Lots of lovely places to eat and shopping as well. We were unlucky with the weather but didn’t spoil our break. Thank you and well done to all staff on a job very well done. My only criticisms are not in any way down to staff, sadly some down to members. I never understand why some people find it so difficult to mop the shower floors after use, on a couple of occasions shower floor and cubicle were covered in talcum powder......no excuse ! Around the site were several signs asking us to avoid damaged grass areas as they had been reseeded, not only did some members drive across them but many just walked on repaired sections. The site staff are trying to keep site in good nick for us!! I have to say that the CAMC need to have a look at the pitches on this site, many , in my opinion , are much smaller than other sites we have been on , in some cases not much difference between awning and non awning pitches! Come on CAMC, this needs addressing as does the state of surfaces on many pitches, in some cases almost no gravel was present, just weeds and soil, resulting in flooded pitches after rain. I do realise it has been a very wet start to the season but certainly the state of pitches needs addressing this year. It is unfair that site staff have to be answerable for lack of maintenance beyond their control.

As neat and tidy as expected from a Club site BUT ......

My wife and I arrived without having pre-booked and we were accommodated very well. Moreton-in-Marsh site is beautifully located near to the town centre and is very well managed. We were told to pick from any pitches still unoccupied and we chose Pitch 31, just across from the "facilities". Great!! Until evening and then night came - and so did the wood pigeons which chose the tree over our pitch as a loo!! We heard splatting all night long and were horrified by the mess that we saw when morning arrived. We were unable to drive off until we cleaned off the windscreen. I spoke to the site wardens who were very sympathetic but were at a loss as to what could be done with the birds. Eventually we arrived home and spent a merry 4 hours cleaning the mess off the roof of our motorhome. So ..... I suggest that you don't pitch up on Pitch 31 at least (while cleaning off the windscreen, other people said that they had had a similar experience but not as dramatic as mine) unless the Club has been advised how to manage the bird problem. Good luck to them!! Perhaps the problem is due to the time of year - we were there in April, 2018.

Filthy showers

At 1pm today most of the showers were muddy and unusable. It seems to me that a few members do not bother to leave the showers in a state they would like to find them. There is no excuse for leaving a shower muddy. The showers are not for cleaning boots! Tonight at 9.30pm again two of the 5 showers were not useable unless you wanted to clean up after other members. There was enough talc in the one to start a business and enough mud in the other to have a bath or grow potatoes. This is not the fault of the staff, this is the fault of fellow members disrespecting the facilities, other members and the staff. Please if you use the showers use the squeegee to clean them. It is not difficult. Rant over!

Disappointed

Visited this site many times but I am sad to say I was disappointed on my last visit. I know we have had a wet winter and sadly a wet start to autumn but despite that I do feel that the site is missed some general maintenance. This pitches are dirty even the hard standing, the paths are muddy. The showers had mud in them something I have never witnessed before. In my opinion the pitches are too small , outfits are getting bigger hence grass is getting churned up due to difficulties getting onto pitches.

A Pleasant Weekend

This site was recommended by friends and we spent one of our weekends here. It is just over an hour from our house along the Fosse Way and is within easy walking distance of the town. Facilities are great and the site is well maintained by friendly, helpful staff. We walked to Batsford Arboretum and had a fabulous Sunday lunch there as well as a walk round the trees. It would be nice if there was a pathway to the public path to the arboretum without having to go right around the site but I suppose it was good exercise. The aviation museum is worth a look if it is open.

Small, Scruffy Pitches

Moreton-in-Marsh site must be long overdue a major pitch refurbishment from what I have seen on this visit. Okay, admittedly it has been a wet Easter, but it doesn't excuse flooded pitches, mud and filthy puddles everywhere you look. I don't know when the site was built or last updated, but it definitely represents an earlier age of caravanning. Pitches are much too small to accommodate modern, generally longer caravans and the large SUV's needed to pull them. Cars are parked at the front of pitches with two wheels often trespassing onto the service road. The service road looks narrow in places too. This makes towing a caravan around the site quite difficult. Perhaps none of this would matter if the hard standing pitches were all well maintained, but they aren't. Most are bare of a stone surface and various greenery and weeds are growing through what little decent surface is left. It all looks very scruffy and untidy. But that's presumably okay because we can all proudly say that we are now The Caravan and Motorhome Club with brand new colours and badging. Money well spent when so many club sites seem like they are languishing in some degree of neglect.
