Hmmmm..... losing it's appeal & charm!

As a family we have stayed at this lovely site many times, however we will have to think long and hard before returning again. The greeting from the wardens was as ever friendly and informative bar one vital ommission. No mention of the construction site on the old dog walking field. As per previous reviews noise and dust from 8am to 5pm each day, along with some colourful language was the backdrop to our stay. How sad that no notice of this work is placed on the CAMC website or acknowledged by the wardens on arrival. However not to be perturbed we carried on with our stay. Overall the site is badly in need of refurbishment. The pitches are in very poor condition and very tightly packed. The time is surely fast approaching when someone in authority the club, needs to grasp the nettle and decide to reduce the pitch numbers in favour of space. I fear however financial heads will keep things as they are, sacrificing space and safety for profit. If you are planning a stay, it would be advisable to avoid the weekends. Full capacity and feral children will detract from your enjoyment. I too am a father of a young child, however running through pitches, cycling round caravans and using the roads as a raceway are not something I would allow him to do. In this respect however I don't this this site is on its own. This all sounds dreadful, but a once lovely site is sadly losing its charm and appeal which surely must be addressed.

Irresponsible dog owners.

Great welcome from staff spotless facilities and excellent location. Chose a pitch and set up only to shortly afterwards have the peace destroyed by the ongoing works to install camping pods. The noise started at 8am and went on to 5pm and the dust given off by the landscapers using angle grinders without damping to cut concrete slabs etc. was horrendous. There should have been a warning on the website that works were taking place. The other issue was irresponsible dog owners allowing their dogs to defecate on the pitches, not their own may I add, despite there being a dog walking area. When I saw a woman using the pitch next door to exercise her dog I pointed out to her politely, in case she didn't know, that there was a dog walking area a mere twenty yards away. She replied " Im not using that! my dog might pick up all sorts from other animals". Its about time the club dealt with the irresponsible couldn't care less campers. When i reported a guy for cleaning his toilet cassette at a drinking water tap at Tewkesbury last year I was told "There's nothing we can do unless we actually see it" so I understand that its difficult for thecwardens to deal with those who abuse the rules because staff cant be every where.

First stay at a club site - fantastic

This was our first stay at a CC site and if all sites are as good as this then we won't be disappointed. Easy check in with friendly staff. Site immaculately tidy and clean. We had a great pitch that was quiet and tucked away. Toilets and showers were very clean, shop was handy for egg and bacon in the morning. Great location easy short walk into Moreton in Marsh. Loved it!

Good Site ...but....

We’ve just returned from 4 nights at the site and the location for Moreton is superb. The site wardens are very pro active, and advised us of the most suitable place to pitch up to get the benefit of both shade & sun during this recent hot weather. 👍🏻 - However the pitches are a lot smaller in general compared to most other Caravan Club sites, and more frustratingly for us was the very reduced dog exercise field now that part of this area is being taken over for wood lodges. - Sadly this led to far more dogs being exercised around the site which in turn created a lot of unnecessary dog barking. There is a large play area which during the time we were on site was used by only 3 children - Maybe part of this area could be utilised for dog exercise & consequently reduce the need for on site dog walking. Other than that the site is to be recommended.

Nice site, friendly wardens

I booked a couple of nights here for a stop over on the way to Wales. When I read the reviews just before setting off I thought I had made a mistake especially as I had a little dog with me. I needn’t have worried, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the site was always neat and tidy and although there were a number of other dogs about it was never an issue. I would like to return here and spend some time exploring Moreton. As my visit was during the heatwave we were happy to chill and relax.

Needs revamping

Been here recently, site near town excellent. Roadways inside site badly in need of repair, toilet blocks are OK, pitches are very small, caravan and awning on pitch and car going across front which narrows the roadway down considerably for others to reverse onto vacant pitches. Went on to another site further south and the pitches were huge. Now there appears to be antagonism against dog owners here, my dog is always on a short lead and only barks when disturbed, but this obviously is too much here. Kids go up and down, up and down roadways on bikes and skateboards making a noise upsetting my dog. Balls bouncing wonderful - not. Children are just as annoying as dogs if you don't have them, parents just set up, pour a drink and forget they have children with them. My dog always stays inside the caravan and is not staked outside, parents do the same and stop annoying others. Been on other sites and its like a race track.

Too Good

I don't want to give this site 5 stars, because it will mean it is even more booked up! Well worth a visit.

Busy site with lots of early arrivals and dogs but perfectly placed near the town.

This site with its many cul de sacs and twists and turns was very busy during our first visit and like all other sites the number of dogs and multiple dogs about and barking at each other all day is not very pleasant. Having said that the position within walking distance of the town and even across the fields to the arboretum and falconry centre is just about perfect. The toilet block was clean and tidy and in good condition and the wardens friendly and efficient. We messed up our leaving day and they were understanding and accommodating. There do seem to be lots of early arrivals but I guess being as busy as they are thats not surprising but a bit off-putting if your a short stay tourer arriving on stated earliest checkin time and on-spec with no booking. Would certainly stay here again and even try and get my dates correct. Some pitches are pretty small but you pays yer money and takes yer chances as always.

REALLY NICE SITE

Visited this site mid July, third time we have been here, we were greeted by a really friendly lady warden who was very helpful and made it very easy for us to find a suitable pitch. pitches are a nice size and very level, the facilities were always spotless and clean, plenty of water taps dotted around the site as well, all in all just right. Moreton is a nice little town and is only a short walk away, whilst here we visited Banbury Steam Fair, Banbury is an easy drive away and not hard to get to, the other Cotswolds villages are easily reached, making this site an ideal centre for sightseeing around the area, its also a good place to chill out if you do not want to do much. will almost certainly come back here sometime or other and cannot praise it high enough.
