In the eye of the storm!

This normally quiet, relaxing site was transformed on the arrival of storm Ciara! The warden was vigilant during the storm, checking around the site. Despite this we had a mostly enjoyable and relaxing stay. The facilities were very clean, as we have grown to expect from other club sites. Yes, some of the pitches were troublesome to access for longer vehicles, partly due to the very wet conditions which meant grass was churned up in places. Service users need to be sensible and access pitches as intended, not driving over grass that should not be used as access because they cannot reverse successfully! Staff were, as on all of our previous stays on club sites, polite and efficient.

Winter Break

Lovely site, convenient to walk in to Moreton. Have been many times and will go again. However it's very disappointing that so many caravan and moterhomers have no understanding to keep off the grass. The grass has many ruts where this has happened. If wardens were to mount a large notice ' Keep off the Grass ' it might help. Also, pitches would benefit from a gravelled run in, as currently it is almost impossible to reverse onto pitch without using the grass.

Getting tired

This is a site we have used on many occasions and now we store our van nearby it will always be one on our choices for a short break. On first arrival, entering the site office I thought there had been a burglary - nothing at all on the shelves and only some milk in the fridge. Our last visit was in late October and we were met with the same scene, the wardens then told us they had just taken over and had not had time to re stock (I must admit, I was unaware that the wardens stock the shop from their own pockets and hope to make a profit by sales). This may also be the case on this occasion so I will only state this as an observation as I did not have a conversation with the current wardens). I agree with comments from others ref. state of pitches and ignorant/impatient and maybe incapable drivers running across grass and verges. Many of the pitches are small and hardly big enough for van car and awning. The site has lots of vegetation, trees and bushes and in winter is usually very damp so this was expected on this latest visit - Jan 2020.. The wardens do a great job of keeping the toilet blocks clean and these also seem to be respected by the members. I do wonder if the new Glamping pods are taking the resource and the finance from the site although again I do not know how these are run/financed so will not make assumptions. We will continue to use the site but it will not be our first choice in the area until the Club helps the wardens create a top notch site, this will also give them more pride and make their job more enjoyable. I am normally very positive and complimentary but on this occasion I have to be honest and leave an overall negative review.

Nice location but needs attention - will not return in the near future.

Stayed Monday to Thursday. Visited may times but will now not return again until the site has had some loving care. Pitches require attention, most are looking tired. Hard standing is compacted and lack definition many have weeds and grass growing through the compacted stone. For me the site is over populated with small pitches possibly because this is such a popular location. Satisfying the needs of members and maximising the revenue of the club. Roads and paths were muddy due to many users having driven across the grass whilst entering or exiting the small pitches. Facilities were spotless and well maintained. Staff were as always fantastic and friendly. They also seemed frustrated by the condition of the site. Finally the Wifi reception as poor as it can get. I could detect the signal but it wasn't strong enough to log in. This despite a booster point less than 25 metres away from my pitch. Not acceptable for what we pay!

Still A Good Site.

We haven't been here since 2018, but enjoyed the site as much as ever. Location for the town is excellent, toilet blocks always clean and well maintained, and the wardens extremely helpful and friendly. The only two negatives we found was the 'tired' appearance of the pitches, they desperately need sprucing up,when we were chattng to the wardens they told us as they've been putting their concerns in to senior management at every possible opportunity. The second issue was down totally to inconsiderate Caravanners/Motorhomers who'd been driving across the grass to pitch up rather than reverse park. -- Just Unbelievable!!! ---We're definitely returning again later this year/

Nice location, filthy pitch, surrounded by Dog Pooh, pitches need work

Our first visit didn't go well. Arrived in the dark, joined our friends. The next morning we woke to find our pitch had no less than 11 piles of Dog mess around it and on it. Consequently we had trod it into our ground sheet etc on the awning. Not very happy. Pitches are tired, need work,. Roads have random spots of slippery mud on them. Shower block nice and warm and clean. Wardens very quiet Not a brilliant experience. I'm afraid we won't return.

Welcoming New Year.

A lovely site central for the town and Tuesday market.plenty of coffee and tea shops and pubs. The information centre packed with things to do and how to get there. We had a nice pitch tucked in the corner and a lovely decorated outfit to guide us to van. The wardens organised food and drinks in the information hut for New Year celebrations ,a great opportunity to chat to other visitors.A lovely way to see the New Year in especially as I didn’t know what to expect. Shower block very clean ,no mud . Looking forward to our visit again next year. Thank you to all the wardens for their hard work and cheery smiles.

Our New Year stay

We stayed here for a week over the New Year. This site is amazing, cannot fault it at all. Staff are lovely, always out cleaning, emptying bins etc. They held a New Years Eve get together with food and drinks. Music and karaoke was great fun, we mixed in with other members, staff, and wardens we were dancing really enjoying the night. This was only our second time there and can't wait to return. A big thank you to the staff and wardens who you cannot fault, amazing place.

Pleasant Fun Family Site....if a bit Muddy!

Arrived in a caravan on Sunday before New Year. Welcome was pleasant and information provided about toddler room etc. Invited to the New Year’s eve get to together and told about pitches available (only 20 left!). We drove around a quite narrow circuit to the right and found ourselves going round a few times before selecting our pitch. There were a few dead end pitches and not suitable for caravan manoeuvres; ideally I would liked to have walked before hand and selected etc but they were busy and caravans were threatening to stack up outside. We were advised by reception not to drive on grass so we used the motor mover; which was essential anyway due to the position of our pitch. It was easy to avoid the muddy patches when sticking to the paths etc but I do agree with previous reviews about a need for some regravelling or tidying up when the weather gets better. A pitch near us was totally unsuitable for anything other than a small motorhome due to a soggy side and covering of moss / grass.... not sure what you do about it though! It’s been awfully wet this Autumn / Winter. The facilities that we used were wonderful but you just can’t escape the muddy boot / wet shower cubicle / muddy footprints etc. Maybe they can supply shoe covers for winter months like at swimming pools? Would help to have less mud in the showers etc. Dishwashing facilities good.. if a little cramped ... but never seems to have hot enough as id use at home water...this is a comment i’d make about all sites. I do like to think my dishwashing water is hot enough to kill germs etc. Play area good.. one area out of use... as identical with another site we’d used recently so not sure what’s going on there. It’s the rope net access to the slide. Boules area available and crazy golf... all off limits due to weather and leaves but would be fun in summer. We never went to the other facilities to the left of the entrance and didn’t fancy some of the pitches there due to over head wires / electricity / phone lines? Overall a good site ... fab wardens.... a wonderful NYE party needing some preventable solutions to the little details. Another thing that would help is better lighting maybe; I couldn’t see the bin lid writing early evening as it was too dark to see which litter bin to use etc. Location next to town is great! Busses are easy get to local towns (we did Bourton). The Arboretum near by was fab! A very good base for exploring that part of the Cotswolds. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!! In our personal reviews in our Caravan Diary... this fell into the “Very Good” category. 73/100 :-)

A little disappointed

Moreton In Marsh site is in a lovely location ideal for a short walk into the centre of Moreton. Site needs some updating and pitches lacked maintenance some regravelling certainly wouldn’t go a miss. Not a reflection on the site but some of the visitors have some disgusting habits and don’t have any thought for other users of the facilities or indeed the wardens who have to tidy up after them.
