Like being in a car park next to a main road

Just spent a long week at Moreton. Even though we arrived at about 12.30 very few pitches left so didn’t have much choice. (We found out later that quite a few don’t set up and wait for the next day leavers to go so that they can move away from the side of the park we were on). Very small pitches so have to park your car on the side of the road next to your hitch - so rammed in it looks like a big car park - not used to this on club sites. Very high trees so you never get the sun on your pitch - lovely if you like living in the gloom - and the main road is only about 30 metres away on the other side of the trees - lorries, cars and motorbikes roaring past all day from very early - luckily I had my noise cancelling headphones so I could actually hear my music in the awning. Clearly the location is the draw and the club charges premium prices for sub standard pitches. If you do go, I would suggest you don’t set up if you are forced onto the side of the site next to the road and wait until someone leaves next morning On the other side so you can get away from the road and into the sunlight. We will not be returning.

Great site, great welcome.

On arrival met by the wardens as a few motorhomes and caravans had arrived at the same time. Nice welcome, really friendly. Didn’t take long to find a good pitch (with shade) the site filled up quickly. The location is great, 10 min walk to town and a good footpath alongside the road. The toilet/shower block is cleaned to a very good standard and the site is using the rubber band system. 3 in a block at anyone time, if theres a rubber band in the milton cleaner receptacle you can go in. A lot of people are using their own sinks and showers but if you do use the block it seemed to be working fine. The site is well kept, lots of facilities and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Will visit again, thank you. Whilst we visited a mobile chippy and pizza was available 2 nights a week outside of the site.

Lovely site. Great wardens.

We spent three nights here and were lucky enough to pitch on a quiet, shaded spot as the heatwave arrived. The town is pleasant and has a number of shops, cafes', and galleries, some of which remain closed due to the virus situation. We used our own facilities, and thought other campers might have done the same, but it appeared most were continuing as normal and using the toilet block, and washing up sinks. The wardens work hard keeping the site safe, and tidy, and were always helpful and friendly. This was our second stay at Moreton-In-Marsh, we will definitely return.

Not our usual enjoyable stay

Another stay on this well run lovely site. Full site with it seemed 90% of pitches having one or more dogs. .No objection to them, but the barking was almost non-stop day and night. We then had a HUGE Winnebago arrive next door. A motor was running constantly, and in hot weather we needed to have windows open. Loud motor (for air con?) ran all night, disturbing our sleep. Other neighbours also commented the next day; we were glad we were leaving that day. Not sure what can be done about dogs, but it changed the usual peaceful quiet atmosphere of this lovely site.

Good site

Informative, friendly welcome. Facilities spotless as expected with easy wristband system which worked well. Walk to town about 10 minutes but very busy road. There is road noise from early morning until evening but we knew that before we booked. Well placed for exploring the Cotswolds and surrounding area.

2nd Site on Cotswolds's Tour

Stayed for three nights. Love the site and the village. Great wardens and facilities very clean. Not sure the band system works but that's not the fault of the wardens. Their job must be like herding cats 😁😆. Very transient site and it's evident there's a great demand for pitches at the moment as it was very busy. Quite a few children cycling around on bikes or riding scooters. We were pitched on a "cul-de-sac" and so unaffected to a large degree but we were aware that other holidaymakers were unhappy with the children racing past their units. The play area was closed and we found that adults and children were using the dog field to play ball games. We realise it's a difficult time but there is so much criticism of dogs, their natural behaviour and keeping them away from children, it did seem a bit unfair to curtail their off lead exercise when children were on the field. We won't hesitate to return but hopefully things will have settled by the time we next visit.

Lovely site but overcrowded

We enjoyed staying here again, however I did feel that the site was overcrowded due to "staycationers" during Coronavirus. I would have preferred that the site was not filled to maximum capacity but that a pitch was left empty in between each unit. We didn't use the facility blocks due to Coronavirus and felt that it would have been better if they remain closed. There surely must have been people on site who had Coronavirus but were asymptomatic which is why we stayed well clear of all communal areas. Luckily we had, by pure chance, got an awning pitch at the end of a row so we only had people on one side of us. I wont be staying again until the quieter months of autumn or until we have a vaccine. We also didn't think it was particularly fair on Moreton in Marsh locals that CAMC vacationers were inundating the town.

Lovely relaxing stay without Coronavirus worries

Just enjoyed a great 2 night stay. Fabulous wardens with a friendly welcome and easy to understand instructions re Covid safe stay. Toilet/shower blocks spotlessly clean. My only small criticism would be that perhaps 4 people at a time could use facilities rather than creating queues outside, as cubicles are safely screened from others to allow a slightly higher number of occupants at any given time. All campers were sensible & acted with care around site. Highly recommend for anyone searching for a quiet break with easy walking access to small market town. We will be back

July 2020 overnight

This was our second outing post covid lockdown and we were very disappointed having stayed at this site previously. There is a very confusing system of bands left in a dubious liquid with dead insects floating in it which you needed to pick out and take in with you to the toilet block and put back in as you leave. If none available then waiting outside was required. However it soon became apparent that customers didn't know whether this was necessary just for showers or for toilets too and when the showers were being used and noone in the toilets seemed daft to wait outside and people were then jumping the queue. Also the soap and sanitiser were found to have run out and we were only at the site for a night. There did not seem to be extra cleaning just the normal once a day which I don't think is sufficient currently especially when the dispensers are running out. Hopefully this is early days and a new system can be arranged which works better. Note also the shrubbery needs clipping on the roadway through the top of the site, was attacking our vehicle as we drove out.
