Stayed here for two nights, staff as always friendly and attentive. But the pitches are not really up to the usual standards, certainly the one I stayed on could barely accommodate a car and caravan (two berth). They also appear to much closer then normal, we could here the couple next door. The roads all need relaying and hopefully raising a little, I admit the rainfall was torrential but there was a great deal of standing water.
Not a good example of a refurbishment
Arrived in heavy rain, despite being closed for six months and site being upgraded we were very disappointed to find most of the site roads flooded and full of pot holes. The upgrades seem to be adding serviced pitches which just seems to be a reason to charge more. They are also adding more glamping pitches, taking more of the children's play area which will surely just result in more children playing around the site. The standard of new hardstanding pitches is very poor looking very amateur.
The best thing about this site is it's location to the town and I am sure that is the main reason it is so busy.
With more thought the improvements could have been so much better and the site improved much more.
Come on CMC put more thought into what you do on sites and show more consideration for your members
Good base for the Cotswolds
This is an easy site to get to from main roads, it has been recently upgraded and a lot of it looks nice and new. Be aware that pitches adjoining the main road are pretty noisy, especially if you want to sit outside. The older pitches (nearest the town) are looking a bit tired, but the newer ones are fantastic, as are all the facilities. Staff were excellent, phoned us because we were delayed and stayed open past closing time to welcome us at about 8.20pm. Seems to be a busy site so recommend you arrive early to get a good pitch.
Just what we needed
Just what we needed, a change of scene and a peaceful break away. 6 nights onsite without using the car as plenty of walking opportunities and choice for food shopping in the town.
The only criticism is a secure gate is needed to get out to the Monarch's Way / Donnington Way / Moreton Eight path that runs along the rear boundary of the site. One like the Wickham Gate at Rookesbury Park would do the job.
Can't really comment on the suitability of the site for families.
First Day Open After lockdown
April-12th. First trip out since September.
A good site well maintained and very friendly staff. Great location just a few minutes walk into the picturesque town of Moreton. No complaints just a lovely few days relaxing in a different location from Lockdown. Well organised check in organised pre arrival as I was told 150 Vans were arriving on the first day of opening. Toilets open but no showers seemed a fair decision considering the current situation. Excellent Site
Well done Caravan and Motorhome Club
We arrived on the first day of opening on 12th April. Having been contacted in advance to pay before arrival, we were greeted outside by a friendly warden (on her first day) and on checking our number plate, greeted us by name and opened the barrier for us - a very smooth and quick check-in on a day of 150+ arrivals.
After setting up without incident, we were impressed how well the wardens ran the toilet blocks and visited frequently to make sure everyone was abiding by the rules. We felt safe and well looked after. Also, well done to the CMC for lobbying the government to allow toilet blocks to open. Yes, we had to use our own shower but as a family of five, we appreciated the use of the other facilities. Many non CMC sites are not able to do so yet, I gather.
The site is very well positioned on the edge of the town and with plenty of lovely walks and places to visit nearby.
The only aspect that may affect some people is the work going on close to the pods. We were out much of the days but for those close by and wanting to sit quietly outside their unit, it might become annoying. It won't last for much longer though.
All in all, another lovely stay at this super site. So good to be away after five months of hibernation.
Good winter break
Enjoyed our week long stay. Due to Covid and perhaps ongoing works site was not too full. Will definitely return.Lots of walks to do from site.
Just a pity some fellow club members failed to observe Covid safety precaution of picking up a wristband as asked to so on entering washing/toilet facilities. On more than one occasion I went to toilet block and 5 bands were in little pot of steriliser. 5 max number allowed in block yet when I got in block there was already at least one other person in there!
We all need toadhere to the safety precautions which have been put in place.

Lovely Site
Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived at a very busy time and the staff were very organised and efficient at ensuring we could get off the road and onto the site safely. The facilities were clean and there was plenty of hand sanitiser for dealing with the COVID requirements, including a cueing system for check in etc.
The site is in an ideal location for walking in Moreton and exploring the lovely Cotswold countryside.
We had an issue with the electrics on the caravan and the site staff pointed us in the direction of Paul Winter of Kidlington Caravans. I could thoroughly recommend him. He solved our problem very quickly and even though the weather was pretty poor he went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with the repair and checked a number of additional associated items to leave us feeling confident to set off.
Not up to usual C & M site standards
I like this site, and I will give it another chance, but basic hygiene standards were poor for a C&M site (no hand soap in shower block for 2 days. no warm water in washing-up area for 2 days.).
Site fell well short of other C&M sites & CL site in my experience regarding covid requirements.
Site was poorly managed whilst I was there.

Lovely weekend
Have just come back from a weekend at this site we were welcomed at the gate by a cheerful warden who explained what to do the staff in the office took payment and explained the Covid rules we found a pitch the site can be a bit noisy if you are by the road but if you can get on a pitch away from the main road it is a lot quieter the pitchers can be a bit narrow but ok yes as in some of the other reviews the pitchers could do with a good clean up but overall a good clean and well run site
