Recommended Site.

We just spent 4 nights at this site during school holidays. as always we look at the reviews before booking any club site, and I must say the reviews do not do this site the recognition it deserves. upon arrival we were greeted with a smile and friendly welcome, we were advised to walk the site to choose a pitch as most roads are dead ends. this is for your benefit as turning will be difficult should you not like those specific pitches. normally i always use my own shower in the motorhome! but I must say the cleanliness and conditions of the showers and facilities were amazing, so much so that for the first time in 2 years I did prefer using the site showers, as did my wife. they are always locked and you are given keys for both Male and female. the staff are so friendly, I damaged the grass when reversing my van into position, I did go and inform the staff and their response was amazing. "dont worry sir, it will grow back. dont threat" the site is very well looked after, and even in February the grass was perfect. except for my tire Mark's!!! it is a short walk to the town and a 3 mile hike to Dunster castle, I would recommend using the back rd, it's more up and down but the views are incredible. also if you can, try Porlock and Porlock weir. these are amazing places. the pubs are amazing especially the ship in Porlock weir. the SW coast walk is also nearby and amazing. if you want exmoor, a car would be advisable but there are local cabs which you can get from the office, and reasonably priced. there were families on site with kids, and I must say that we never really heard them at all. compared to some sites we've been to, it was a pleasure. would we stay here again?? yes... without fail, just this time we would maybe like the car with us to explore more.

Members drive to fast on site

Lovely clean site, very handy for Minehead`s attractions. My only concern is that vehicles on site are not sticking to the 5 mph limit. With a young family I had to quickly move to the grass to avoid a car and we witnessed speeding on numerous occasions throughout our short stay. This is not going to be popular but it appears to be the more senior members who are not abiding by the 5mph rule.

excellent site, really close to Minehead Town , 10 minutes walk, we also walked to Dunster village which is about 2 miles. A few takeaways near if you dont want to cook. Lovely heated shower block. Would go again.

Enjoyed the experience

The site was easy to find and was about a 15min walk into Minehead centre. The pitches were well spread and level and we were allowed to choose our pitch. This was our first motorhome trip and if the facilities on this site are typical of all the clubs sites we will be more than happy. The toilet and shower block were ultra clean and warm. We had some waste water problems in our motor home so made good use of the excellent facilities on this site including dishwashing and shower block. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend visiting this site and in summer I imagine it would be ideal. Regards J & M

One of the best.

We were really impressed by the site, and although it was not full, it was busier than expected so it is clearly valued by other members It was quiet, peaceful, and extremely well maintained by the excellent wardens. The shower and toilet facilities were exceptionally clean, warm and welcoming. Dishwashing was also very clean and warm with plenty of hot water. The service points were well located and were kept exceptionally clean by the wardens. It was an easy walk into and from the centre of Minehead (15 mins max, gentle walk) which is worth a visit. Nearby Co-Op (5 mins) store seemed to stock everything one would need. We caught the 28 bus to Watchett and the free Hinckley Point C (HFC) community bus back to Minehead centre which gave us an inland trip out and a coastal return trip. We spoke to many locals on our travels who were very friendly and helpful. The bus to Porlock is two hourly at this time of year, so we did not take this, but drove out via the A39 via Porlock to Lynmouth and on to Barnstable. Our van is 6.34m, would not want to do this in anything larger or at a busier time of year as it was a bit scary in places, steep hairpin bends, single track etc. A really enjoyable few days away.

Immaculate & peaceful (& close to the most beautiful sights)

Arrived (18th/19th Jan 2020) to most warm & professional welcome - all the pitches were beautifully maintained & level - the warden was most helpful as I tried to figure out tripped switch on the electric hook-up & he instantly fixed the problem (thank you) - our overnight was most peaceful & tranquil (no road-noise at all) - we spent the next morning at Porlock Weir: simply so gorgeous that this has to be seen! the road down & back was no problem for our 7.1m motorhome but am not sure I take that road at height of season as is narrow in places - many thanks for a wonderful stay!

Super site with excellent wardens

Excellent site, and the wardens work very hard to keep the site spotless and extremely tidy. They should be congratulated on there hard work. The toilet block is old, but so well kept, even the shower curtains are washed and ironed. The taps and empty points are washed and swept daily. The flowers and site is so tidy, and even all leaves are swept up. Bird feeders attract many birds. They even paint the office. Wonderful, thank you so much for a lovely stay. Look out other wardens you have a lot to learn from the staff at Minehead!!!!

Will return

Our 1st visit to this site in our campervan. I am sure we will return. A nice site and although near the main road noise was not an issue, Set out in little no trough roads among wooded areas. Facilities clean and what you expect from a club site. Helpful. Wardens are helpful and friendly. Situated for coast and moor.

Walk to Your Heart’s Content......

We’ve visited Minehead for the third time recently and stayed 12 nights. Despite terrible weather, we still managed to walk every day with our dog. The site is so well located. It’s a relatively easy journey from our home in Kent and once on site, everything is positioned nearby. A Co-Op up the road, Fish and Chips in Alcombe nearby, the seafront a 20 minute walk away and a ton of great walks in every direction. Facilities on site are well maintained and clean and wardens friendly and very hard working. They keep the site looking really good even in winter. The dog walk on site is secure and good fun for the dogs and a special mention has to be made for the Wifi on this site as it is excellent; no problems streaming movies, sport and music at all times. Tv reception more difficult with all the trees. Already planning our next visit.......

A Little Gem

An absolute gem of a site. Easy to find with good access from the main road. Although situated on the 'Minehead bypass' this is a very quite well looked after site. On arrival the welcome and brief were superb. Note that after booking in you'll be asked to walk the site to find a pitch. There is good reason for this, each of the spurs on which the pitches are situated is a cul-de-sac.The facilities were kept immaculate during our 5 night stay and the site staff were always on the go keeping the site up the high standard they have obviously set themselves. What is nice the little touches they have brought to the site, bird feeders, planters and some nice touches in the bathrooms. Leave this site off your to do list at your peril. It's a gem.
