Top notch

This was my first few days on my own having picked up a new van so I had lots of questions . Zoe was most helpful , friendly and welcoming ( I think my gorgeous whippet helped!) The site is immaculate with spotless facilities and lovely planting everywhere. There is plenty of space on each pitch and it was lovely and quiet. Its a 20 minute walk to the beach and there is loads to do in the area. I will definitely be back to this well run site

Great Site, wonderful location

Attended here in June, for a week. Weather was kind, so that was a bonus. We love this site, as it has everything we love about Motorhoming - great site & facilities, great location for getting around, be it walking, cycling, easy to catch local transport, and many places to visit. We walked via the back lane route to Dunster, and back again along the A39. We walked from Minehead across the moor on the SW Coastal path to Porlock, which is a great walk on a nice day - we caught the bus back to Minehead. On another day, we cycled to Minehead, taking in the Harbour, sea front, then onto Dunster Beach, where we stopped for tea (had a great tuck shop there). We cycled then from Dunster Beach on the walking/cycle path to Blue Anchor. This path runs out before you reach Blue Anchor - you could walk your bikes the short distance into Blue Anchor, as we've done before, but we turned around, and cycled into Dunster village. From the village, we took the back lane route back to the site - a really nice cycle ride. On another day, we took the open top double decker bus to Lynmouth/Lynmouth - which was a great day out. Good fun going up Porlock Hill & down Countisbury Hill (and vice versa) on a double decker bus !! We had a lovely Thai meal at the Queens Head Minehead on one of the evenings - which we would recommend. The wardens were wonderful - helpful, friendly & accommodating. Everything was clean and well kept. The only issue we had (albeit minor), whilst setting up our awning, was the hardness of the hardstanding pitch, which was like concrete - think I broke around 5 or so pegs ! We love this site, and the area, and always look forward to visiting there. Fingers crossed, back again in December.

Frequent Visitor

Most of our trips are to CL sites, however Minehead CAMC is the exception. It has a great layout, is easy stroll into the interesting town of Minehead wit its harbour and old town area (it's not all about Butlins!). The walking from the site is exceptional and it is only a short car drive to the wilds of Exmoor. The site wardens are very friendly and facilities are well maintained. We visit at least once a year and you can see the numerous walks we have done in the are on my blog site https://twodogsandanawning.co.uk/site/minehead-camc/

Don't Assume Check

I agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewer regarding location to town and the great wardens. We had never visited Minehead before and had a pre-conceived view of what the town would be like. Anyway we thought we'd have a look for a couple of days. Well what a surprise, great little town, wonderful harbour and just a tad further up the coast we saw a dolphin. Some lovely little cafes, and restaurants along with what looked like good pubs (never tried one). We will be going back for a longer stay. The only drawback is the A39. Not so much a road more a track, not good with my Bailey's big ears (wing mirrors).

Lovely

Stayed for a 4 night break in early May. The site is in an ideal location for so many things; 20 minutes to the town, beach and nearest pub. Local shops include a well stocked Co-Op, bakery and post office. Two take-away restaurants and a fantastic Chip shop. The site is managed by Zoe and Sam who were brilliant, very helpful and always had time to talk and answer any questions. They kept the site running smoothly and very clean, thank you. Look forward to a return trip in the future.

Great site

I love this site. It’s small. Has great sized hard standing pitches. It’s in a great position. Takes about 20 minutes to walk in to Minehead and the beach. There’s a great chip shop about 5 minutes walk along with a CO-OP. Spent the BH weekend here. It was full but quiet at the same time. Will definitely visit again. I’ve had to submit the review with the family review. It wouldn’t let me not! I don’t have kids, there’s no play area but shouldn’t take a family long to get to the beach.

First trip

Stopped here 9 nights in April. Great site for easy access and good pitches. Easy walk into Minehead and some good walks on the common just behind the site. The dog walk is great for the first and last calls of the day. A good selection of takeaways within a short walk and a Co-op. The site was well kept by Zoe and Sam who were always friendly and approachable.

Good site for exploring Minehead and Exmoor

Spent 4 enjoyable nights in mid Oct in our caravan. Lovely smallish club site in an old quarry, now attractively wooded to help screen from nearby road. All-weather pitches across several level terraces. Facilities v good and clean, as you'd expect on a club site and Covid precautions were in place. Toilet block also has a couple of separate additional single loos at back, plus dishwashing room (1 person at a time at the moment). Very well cared for site. Small parade of shops nearby (nice meal at Alcombe Tandoori). Mobile signal was fine, can't comment on TV reception. Road noise didn't seem intrusive to us, except possibly for a few pitches nearest the margins, but site is mostly well screened by trees. Town centre and sea front walking distance, and great location to visit Dunster, Exmoor and beyond. Likely to choose site again as only 2 hours away.

Great for motorhomes

Changed our plans when South Wales closed due to Covid restrictions. Ali was good when I booked by phone, and Rob showed us to our irregular shaped pitch (only one available). Site is very clean and tidy, and toilet facilities are spotlessly clean. Site is in a great location with a Co-Op within sight of the site entrance, with a fish and chip take away, Chinese take away and Indian Restaurant (recommended) which also does take away. Easy walk into Minehead, and coast walks to Porlock, or the other way to Dunster Beach or Blue Anchor Bay. Attraction of Blue Anchor (accessible by road from Carhampton) is free sea front parking and toilets (very clean) maintained by local volunteers. Would certainly visit again.

Great location

We had 3 nights at this site and enjoyed our stay very much. This was mainly due to it's quiet location being within a short walk of the town and seafront, and close to a convenience store and various take-aways, all making it ideal for motorhomes. Some of the pitches including ours, are quite uneven, making it necessary to ramp up three wheels. We never managed to get quite level and found the list a bit disconcerting! Access is a little tight in places too. The covid-19 precautions are good, and the hand sanitiser stations were always supplied. We can't comment on the toilet/shower block as we're using our own facilities until this awful virus becomes less of a threat. The wardens went about their business efficiently and cheerfully, though we didn't have much need of their attention during our stay. Minehead is a nice place to spend time, and the seafront provides a nice walk, with the harbour at one end being particularly pleasant and with ample parking for motorhomes. Nice site, will return.
