This site is beautiful to look at. It is well laid out with excellent flower borders and the fishing lake is a wonder. The pitches overlooking the lake (which we were lucky enough to get into) have a fantastic view. However, what they don't tell you is that the A1 is only about 75/80 yards away and the noise is constant. We were lucky enough to be there during the recent good weather but couldn't keep the windows open at night for the noise as the wind was in the right/wrong direction and brought it straight in. The toilets at the top of the site are spotlessly clean but a bit on the small side. Only 2 showers, no privacy cubicles and no hairdryer in the gents. They could get a bit congested during summer months. No kids play area as such and with such a deep lake close by kids will have to be closely monitored. Dog walking is very good. Out of the site, along a lane and into open fields or you can stand and watch the trains go by on the main East Coast line (about 10 every hour or so) as it's only about 400 yards from the site. No local shop or pub so make sure you have everything you need when you get there, although right next door is a great little micro-brewery which does terrific ales. With it's proximity to the A1, the site is ideally situated for those travelling North or South to further areas for a one or two night rest break. That's what we'll be using it for in the future.
So chilled
Another chilled out weekend at such a fantastic site. Stayed on pitch 63 over looking the fishing ponds. Facilities block, again spotless all weekend. We will be returning very soon.
What a find!!!!
We had Milestone recommended to us. Went on Friday 9th until Sunday 11th. On pulling into the site we thought... oh this looks nice and tranquil, but when you pull to the pitches do you see the sites real beauty. Pitches are maintained to the highest standard. Facilities are good, but small with only 2 showers in the top block, but were absolutely spotless all weekend (And we had plenty of rain). Holiday lodges scattered around the perimeter of the site, with all the grounds again maintained to the highest standards. Fishing lake is well looked after...I had 41 fish in a 3 hour session upto 2 and half pounds biggest fish. (Others had bigger ones). All in all a fantastic weekend away from it all, and yes you can hear the trains and A1 Traffic but after the first ten minutes you switch off from it and it never bothered us. Well done to all the wardens especially Keith and Pam for keeping such a wonderful park for us caravanners to visit. see you all next weekend(Yes it was that good, we cancelled next week at York to go here again).
One of the prettiest of club sites
This is a lovely place to stay. The site is very pretty and beautifully laid out. The pitches are large and many have little hedges and trees between them making them quite private. We pitched away from the pond so we were not bothered by the road noise. The camp site is very convenient from the A1 and easy to find if you follow the instructions in the handbook. There is no wi-fi. All the facilities were very clean and the site was well looked after. There is some mess on the paths from the ducks but it was nice to see them. This is one of the nicest club sites that we have stayed on.

beware
a nice well kept site, however our pitch got noise from a1. also east coast rail line. now beware -we followed book instructions travelling from the south up a1, instructions said to turn off behind hgv garage. which we did, and came to an abrupt halt behind a cue of hgv s waiting for fuel. to be stopped on that slip road and have hgv s coming off a1 at speed behind you is an accident waiting to happen. recommend you take the next turning after the garage.

5th Visit
we have just returned from our 5 th visit to this site. Staff very friendly, the only down side is if you have to have a pitch at the far end you do get some noise from the busy A1 but it should not put you off as you soon get used to it. You will need good strong hard standing pegs as they are very hard to put in the ground. Plenty of Fishing to be had also on site. We will be returning again very soon. Big thanks to Keith & Pam and the rest of the team during our stay.
Attractive
Stopped here for just a couple of nights and enjoyed it. Site is level, well laid out with good sized pitches. Those who enjoy fishing will get the most out of this site but the lakes and surrounds are designed to be attractive to all, with benches to sit and watch men with rods sitting and watching! There is some road noise but as we were near the reception end this was acceptable. The nearer to the lakes, the noisier.

Little gem
What a find, this site is an example of what the club should be targeting for all sites. As we pulled through the entrance, we marvelled at the initial appearance of the site, with the warden commenting that we must have had a good journey judging by the smile on both of our faces, we corrected her and complimented her on the wonderful first impression of the site. Once booked in we toured the site for a suitable pitch and was in awe as we rounded the corner and spotted the lakes and a vacant pitch overlooking the same. This site is an absolute gem, with wide pitches, well spread out and the grounds are pristine, despite the recent downpours. Whilst not anglers, this site must be a haven for those members that are, and is also situated conveniently off the A1, for overnight stops that may well turn into two or three nights. We moved from Nottinghamshire last year and have family still there, this site will be a regular stopover from now on when visiting our sons, albeit 20 miles from them. Well done Milestone!
Nice and Quiet, good Location by the A1 and for Newark.
Love this site for location for Newark especially for the Antique fair. The site itself is just by the A1 so easy access and no noise from the traffic as there is a large grassy flat top mound built around the lower side of the site that keeps the noise out and doubles up as walking area for dog owners and over looks the site and the beautiful fishing lake in the middle of the site. Good areas in and around the site for dog owners to give your dog a walk or with mine a run.
A few miles drive away from the site is pub which serves up great food and pulls a nice pint.
Very well run and maintained
After a long journey, we arrived after dark to a very warm welcome by the two wardens. They even gave our children some sweets! We were soon parked on one of the excellent hard standing pitches. There are also a few grass pitches but these were not in use due to the time of year. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The wardens live on site and obviously take great pride in their site. We were a little concerned about the close proximity to the A1 but this did not affect us. Admittedly, we were on the opposite side of the site and there was little wind, but it is well screened, none the less. The only addition we feel the site could benefit from is a play area. There were many children staying when we were there and a play area would surely get well used. In summary, we were made to feel very welcome and grately enjoyed our stay.
