Lovely part of Cornwall

This was our final stop in Cornwall before moving on to Dorset and it was quite a change from the rugged and sometimes wild coast of the county. It is a beautiful rural area well worth a visit. Coastal paths are within easy reach with good paths & dog friendly beaches. St Mawes is an upmarket, friendly resort with lots of places to eat & enjoy a pint, the pubs & even the odd restaurant/cafe all being dog friendly. A good if not terribly frequent bus service is available. We walked to St Mawes then got a bus back, it was packed but everyone was squeezed on. Truro is within reach by bus, dogs travel for free, and is a very nice City with plenty of good shops and pubs/eating places. Don't be tempted by the park & ride option if you have dogs as they aren't accepted. Supermarkets are a challenge for Motorhomes, the Aldi car park is small & cramped & the Sainsburys car park has height & width restrictions. We went to the new Waitrose which is an excellent if pricier option but there is plenty of parking & has an impressive adjoining Taste of Cornwall Deli. The site itself is well kept, clean & friendly. It was very busy when we visited & some people switch pitches as better ones become available. Levellers are a necessity. Dog walking area is excellent if a little distant from some pitches. All in all a lovely site which we will definitely revisit.

Just Perfect

We have been coming to this site for more years than we can both agree on,but in any event its a long time.Stayed here for 3 weeks in September and the site has never been better maintained the hard work and dedication of warden team is outstanding.A throughly enjoyable time in a beautiful part of the world. The stay here more than justified our Club membership alone and we are away for about 12 to 14 weeks every year.Well done.PS didn't see a single dog poo!

An overnight stay

We were a bit late on arrival, however information was left for us on the Notice Board at the entrance. The site was rural, but pleasant. The Lady of the house duly greeted us minutes later and gave us options as to how we might park up, and highlighted the power outlet point. The following morning I met her husband, who couldn't have been more helpful. All in all, a Very Pleasant Couple, with a nice little site. I wish them both well.

Noise

Radio2 in toilets unacceptable. We should not be forced to listen to it. Increasing number of members with two or more dogs which inevitably foul the site. The owners should be rigorously policed and if their dog pees on site they should receive a life ban. The walks along the coast path to St.Anthony Head and Nare Head are wonderful.

Worth the driving!

Roseland Peninsula is a gem of an area in Cornwall with it's very own distinctive character. The draw back is you need to negotiate the narrow 'A' roads. (Motorhome owner). However it is well worth the effort and, if you can make use of the two hourly bus service (September), you can get around. The walk from the site onto the coast path is well worth the effort as it opens up some great stretches of paths.

Great site

This is a great site in a lovely area. Friendly wardens and very clean facilities. However, a personal bug bear of mine is music playing all day in the toilets. It was playing in both blocks but much too loud in the newer block. I dont want to listen to punk music blaring out at 0800 when I'm having a shower. I have noticed this in a few other club sites I just hope this is not a new club policy that is going to spread to all sites. Could I ask the club to comment on this. Thank you.

Cornwall Tour 2016

Excellent location for the Roseland Peninsula with good easy walking, even directly from the site. Very busy when we arrived 14th Sept but soon dealt with by friendly and efficient warden. Luckily we were able to find a quiet pitch (95) in the large grass field beyond the very overcrowded and unappealing (we like space) area in the main section, our feeling was that these pitches were such that there was little privacy and driving to your pitch entailed weaving between other vans. We like dogs but in some cases we saw couples with up to 5 dogs ( a little excessive) but on average it appeared to be 2 per van. Difficult to control but dogs did relieve themselves on site but owners were responsible and cleared up after them, however our concern is where it is not easy to clean up thoroughly, will some areas be infected, especially where you may pitch your van and erect your awning. Facilities excellent and very clean.

A great site in a fabulous area.

We stayed at Merrose Farm in mid September. All aspects of the site are kept in smart order by the hard working wardens. The traffic light system controlling the flow of traffic through the entrance road is a really good idea. The surrounding area is really pretty and there some great places to visit. We particularly liked the foot ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth, especially as the ticket had a £5 discount voucher for Rick Stein's fish and chips at his place in Falmouth.

Lovely site

Spent one night on this site on a tour of Cornwall. We had a friendly welcome and were given a choice of pitches. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. Can't advise on children and families as we were there in term time so no children around and none with us! Would visit again.

6 Great nights

My wife and I recently had a '6 great nights' stay at Merrose Farm. The facilities on site are perfect, We both enjoy coast walking and the location was ideal for us. The Warden and Assistant Wardens could not have been more helpful if they tried. We are recently retired and did not have our Grandson with us and as such we cannot be certain of the children's facilities. We would warmly recommend the site to anyone.
