Perfect start for our first outing, except for the storm. Good winter venue

Selected this site as we were looking for somewhere open in February and not too far from home for our very first campervan adventure. The site is small but perfectly located in the very centre of Melrose with easy access to pubs and restaurants, and the supermarket. The owners were lovely and extremely helpful. When they learned it was our first time out and with a toddler they bent over backwards to help us settle in and give us the advice we needed. They even russled up an old gas canister we could use to get on the exchange. Storm Ciara meant we didn't get the chance to enjoy the surroundings but we did enjoy the pubs. Recommended for a winter location.

Quality all round

Great site right in the heart of this lovely, upmarket little town. Locals are very friendly and seem to genuinely appreciate having visitors around spending money in their shops and cafes. Can’t fault a thing.

Great Site

This site has it all , for me. Great location, very well maintained site and facilities. The staff are very cheerful and helpful. Anyone finding fault with the fact that there is a school nearby needs to get a life. Peter Dawson

Great winter break site

We regularly visit this site in Spring, Autumn and winter as it is easily accessible from the NE of England. The town is compact and has lots of interesting facilities and places and is a few minutes walk from the sile. There are lots of good walks directly from the site and Abbotsford House is well worth a visit - about a 3/4 mile walk.

Ideal location for walking

Recently returned from a 4 night stay at Melrose. I've been here many times before, and the walks direct from the site or just a short drive away are fantastic. The circular route across the chain bridge, then along the banks of the Tweed is excellent, as is the route out to Newstead and return by the Tweed. Good local shops and a co-op 2 mins from the site. Good friendly staff, and a the usual first class facilities. Yes, you can hear kids playing at the school next door, and the floodlights for the tennis courts outside the site also illuminate an area of the site really brightly. Only suggestion I have is that the staff should be equipped with a means to grit the entire site, and not just around the facilities. The ice on the roads on the site was 'lethal'!

Noisy, sandwiched between a busy school playing field and backing on to a housing estate!

In my humble opinion this is a pop by site, its fine for stopping off on onward journeys, it's close to a walkable town with restaurants but you either have to pitch backing on to or looking at a rather ugly housing estate, just the kind of view you don't want when you open the blinds or like us park back on to a busy very noisy floodlit playing field. The overly lit site itself seeps into your caravan through every orifice never mind the noisy over lit playing fields being mown and tended 1st thing. We stopped over for few nights, sadly with hindsight we wish it had been less. Otherwise nice helpful staff, well maintained. It's horses for courses and depends on how you like it.

Lovely site for stopovers to and from Scotland

This is a great little site within a few minutes walk of the town so easy access to shops & eateries. We stayed for 3 nights en-route to Scotland and they were very busy and only had tarmac hard standings available which were fine as we didn't need our awning. The normal pitches are large and level so if you prefer an awning pitch, book early. As with most CMC sites, the facilities were spotlessly clean and the site itself well maintained.

A Gem of a Site

This was our second visit to Melrose. As before we found a first class site, well maintained, and in a convenient location. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of lovely walks around without having to drive. Good for dogs.

Summer Holiday 2019

Stayed at this site for two nights towards the end of our holiday. First time here and impressed by the location and closeness to the town of Melrose. Being a motorhome owner we look to visits sites with good facilities and public transport links nearby. This site has this in abundance, the town has numerous interesting shops pubs and good eating place nearby. The local co-op is just outside the site entrance with good opening times. We were there the last day of the open championship and I spent 5 hours in the Ship Inn watching it on Sky Sports and chatting to the locals in the pub. If you like tennis there is a club close by the site and they welcome visitors to make use of the excellent three courts there. Having only stayed two nights we were limited in what we could do but we will certainly visit again. Our one comment would be the toilet block could do with upgrading to the new club standards we experienced on other sites we visited this trip. The shower area is quite cramped and still has the white square stools which are not as common on club site now, for this reason only we gave it a 4 on the facilities option.
