We just has a 6 night stay at Melrose Gibson Park. The wardens were so friendly and very helpful. The facilities are a little dated compared to other site but they were spotlessly clean and the site was very well maintained. Nice little village on the doorstep and two small supermarkets within few minutes walking distance. Plenty of pubs and eateries in village and lovely walks alongside the river tweed. Great site will definitely use again when visiting the borders.
excellent base
Visited Melrose beginning Sept 2016 for first time, very busy site but what a superb location for exploring this part of the country, very clean, great wardens, we visited nearly all towns and the train from tweedbank is only 5 mins away with free parking and goes straight through to Edinburgh. We had a great time.

A good choice
Arrived just after 1200hrs and were surprised to find only 2 service pitches available, it turns out this site is very popular. It's location so close to the centre of town is ideal this is however tempered by the school next door but it is only term time and school hours. The site itself is kept very well by the excellent wardens and the facilities block although dated was kept spotless. Pitches are a little on the small side for a big outfit but overall a very nice site and we will definitely return.
Second visit
Enjoyed our stay at this site, took in local attractions, used the local shops. Staff friendly.
Best site
This is our favourite site, wardens are so friendly and helpful, so handy for the town and lovely walks for the dog along the tweed. Going again next week. See you soon.

Melrose Perfection
Well what can I say,100% for this site, and for the village of Melrose.
Site was spotless, best CC internet signal, great for Pubs,Hotels and Rugby and a beautiful river side walk, all in Melrose Gibson park.
Can't wait to go back.
Great stay
The site is very well looked after and quite, the only negative is a nearby construction site that is a bit noisy

Excellent site but hard to book
We used the site for just one night and found it excellent in all respects. There is an easy five-minute walk into town, plenty of dog walking (across to the river is good) and all facilities.
The fact that the site was fully booked highlights the lack of caravan sites in this area. The CLs were all full too, so pre-booking is essential. Perhaps out of season there wouldn't be a problem.
The prices are in keeping with other sites and these are generally too high.

Good if pricey!
Very nice site with excellent facilities and cleanliness. Very hand for the lovely Town of Melrose.
Did think £28 a night for 2 people a bit pricey though.
Pretty as a Picture
The flowers around the site at Melrose were lovely thanks to the hard working Wardens. The town itself looked lovely during Melrose in Bloom. The wind tried to ruin the displays - but luckily did not suceed.
Caught the train to Edinburgh on the new Border Line, station is fine (no fee for parking) but alas no facilities, toilets or anything. (Steam trains run from here now and again). Lovely place and lovely site.
