Staff friendly and helpful. My tarp blew dangerously in a strong wind while I was off site. Club volunteers made it safe and pegged it down to protect car from damage. Site staff contacted on mobile phone to advise of the action taken. I was grateful and staff and volunteers so nice. I enjoyed my first trip of season and also liked fact that there was TV aerial link up. Melrose is a lovely place and the site is in the heart of it. would have appreciated a clearer road sign on main street to direct into the site.

Excellent town centre site

The site is right in the town centre of picturesque Melrose which has exquisite eateries bars restaurants and food shops and of course the ruins of Melrose Abbey A bakers is just around the corner beyond an excellent co-op supermarkets with a wide variety of food stuffs, bits and pieces The site is next to the local school so expect the sound of children playing in thd grounds. It's opposite Melrose rugby ground alongside which you can walk to the Tweed passing the chain bridge and back up past the abbey ruins to the top of the town for a great early morning dog walk, collecting freshly baked breakfast rolls on the return Many different walks from flattish along the Tweed to the viaduct, slight incline to Rhymers Stone or more challenging into the Eildon Hills with a well signposted circular route via St Boswells- stunning views from the top but very muddy As usual, a well run site with good clean facilities and helpful informative staff

Melrose Gibson, a relaxing few days.

A wonderful site with good facilities, well situated for walking along the river Tweed and a little stroll into Melrose for one of the good quality bars and shops. Good for families and pets.

Early season break

Found this site by accident whilst looking for somewhere to stay out of season, Gibson Park is well placed for a relaxing break, situated within the town of Melrose, many small shops and places to eat, local bakery can't be missed and the butcher makes very impressive pies, supermarket just near to site entrance, local bus services frequent and accessible, lots of lovely walks in the area and along the river Tweed, certainly somewhere we would go to again, the facilities were well kept, clean and warm, even though we did have some snow, site wardens very helpful kept the place spotless. it was a long drive from our home but well worth it, can't wait to return.

Most enjoyable stay

I booked this site as my first stay in a recently purchased caravan. Staff welcomed me and provided me with essential information. The facilities onsite were excellent, with the town of Melrose within walking distance for additional resources - shops, bars, restaurants, etc ...... It was easy to travel around on local transport, with one bus taking me directly to the home of Sir Walter Scott at Abbotsford. I spent two enjoyable evenings in my caravan at this site, and it was very peaceful. I must commend the attention and assistance of the Warden, Mr Smith, who provided me with practical advice when I encountered a problem with the tow hitch of my caravan on my departure. I would thoroughly recommend the campsite to all caravanners and motorhomers. Being open all year visitors would have plenty of opportunities for exploring the lovely Borders countryside in all weathers. There is definitely something for everyone nearby, and I know I will return soon.
