Superb site

Lovely site, very peaceful, easy to find wardens very friendly and day before we left the warden said he hoped we wouild be back soon which is nice. We try to visit different sites every year but we did say me we may come back next year. My wife said this is the best site we have have stayed on. It is a very handy site for lots of places and I do not think there was a day where we could not find some where to go. If you like Wildlife there are some good reserves to visit nearby including the Osprey's down the road at Foulshaw Moss.

Great location

Warm welcome. Quiet, relaxed site with good toilet block facilities. Great location for exploring just outside the National Park and the Southern Lakes. Grange over Sands is a delightful pretty town without all the tourist bustle you get closer into the National Park. Lovely views across Malcombe Bay. Plenty to do for a week or more if you like cycling, walking and exploring etc.

Great Place Great Stay

We have just returned from Meathop Fell and it was a great 2 weeks. The camp staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are no less than 1st Class. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area come rain or shine. I would recommend a visit to the Transport Museum and a lake cruise. The site has a great information centre with lots of ideas for all ages and a safe play area which our grand-daughter made good use of. We wouldn't hesitate to return again and cannot recommend it highly enough. This was out first visit but it won't be our last.

Great site

We had a two night stop over here and would highly recommend this site. Wardens are fantastic and so are the amenities. A great location for access to the lakes. Will definitely be back.

Peaceful quiet site

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Meathrop. The site is nice clean and quiet. The nearby town of grange over sands is a lovely little town with nice shops and the promenade is lovely for a walk but if it's beach your looking for then this is not for you. The beach is not safe for walking on and has lots of thick sandy areas which you sink in and is quite scary. The sea is also a long way out. I would recommend for caravanners looking for a quiet peaceful break but not much for the children. We visited Morecambe which was much more of a seaside town nice but wouldn't go again.

Very Enjoyable Stay

This was our first caravan trip for almost 20 years. It reminded us why we were members of the Caravan Club all those years ago. This site is immaculately kept and we received a friendly welcome. The other visitors on site were all friendly and helpful as we reaquainted ourselves with caravanning. We would love to be back soon, but there are so many other club sites on our 'to do' list!

superb site

This was our third visit this year, boring I know but we just love this site, the wardens are exceptional and it is so easy to get to the heart of the lakes without encountering heavy traffic. I've just booked again for Aug. bank holiday weekend.

Great site

Lovely peaceful site toilets and showers immaculate although it could do with another shower and toilet block down at bottom. Hard standing could do with some tlc and maybe bigger as car and awning left no room for sitting outside so had to sit on side of road friendly site staff would go again

Hdden Gem

We wandered through the narrow country roads and found the site. The instructions were spot on but we were sure we were wrong. It was worth getting to. A warm welcome and a beautiful place. The wardens directed us to the site they thought would be most suitable for us. We have a porch awning and there was hardly room for our car. (Caravan Club rules were followed.) This was a common problem. Perhaps larger pitches would have been a good idea? The local area was new to us and we had a lovely time exploring. Beautifully kept and clean.

New friends from Germany

The site is nice, beautiful and silent. The wardens,( espacially Mrs. van den Bos) were always very friendly and helpful to us. They gave us tips were we could go and told us about sights and shops in the vicinity. The facilities were always clean and some of the best we saw on our trip through England. There is a small shop were you could get everything you need for the day. Also you can find a playground for the children. From this site we started some great trips to the beautiful landscape of the Lake District and we enjoyed our holiday at Meathorp Fells.
