Just had a weekend here as always a warm welcome spotless site ease to get to and a short drive to grange where we had a lovely walk finished off with a cream tea near the old open air baths wish they would renovate them fully recommend a visit weldone to all the staff
great site
This site is a little out of the way but ideal for a quiet break. Facilities spotlessly clean and wardens always doing something around the place. They were building an insect hotel when we stayed. Next door is a small hotel which seves good food and well worth a try. For walkers its 1 hour into Grange over Sands, which is easy. Grange is well worth a visit and has a lovely peer.
Would recommend this site. Definitely visit again

You wont be disappointed
Wonderful site. Peaceful and quiet with individual little groups of pitches rather than one big open site. Very friendly and welcoming wardens. Very clean and well maintained facilities. Office has a small shop with essentials and there is a delivery most days of fresh bread and milk. You can even order fresh croissants, pork pies and sausage rolls for the next day. Nearby Grange is worth a visit to stroll around the artisan shops.

Paul & Sue
We had a very enjoyable stay on this site and would recommend it to any others who fancy a nice quite time with like minded people. Nice and well maintained facilities the staff are very happy to help with any problems that may arise. The pub is 5 minutes walk away Grange is a 20 Minute walk where there are a number of shops and a lovely walk along the front.
Short break
Just spent 3 nights here, lovely site, very dog friendly and relaxing. Quite a steep driveway in, but looks worse than it is. The warden we met was super, a lovely friendly face after a long journey. Thanks also to the two new wardens who helped us find a good spot for us and our friends who were joining us on their way home later. Altogether an enjoyable stay, will definitely return.
Lovely Methop Fell
Just love this site in a beautiful part of England. Lovely friendly wardens the best there is . We have just returned home after the third trip this year and we are returning in 3 weeks time .We love it !
Have stayed here plenty of times, and love the site
I have stayed here plenty of times and love it.
I did have an issue with a grumpy site warden ( as did others) but he has long gone and things have improved 10 fold.
Wifi is an issue here, but hopefully this will get sorted out.
The site is clean, toilets spotless, and lots of walks to go on out of the site. Remember your caravaners......... Get the boots on and take an adventure, the wardens will help you with routes... just ask.
I booking again for this week, so will be staying Wednesday and Thursday night. See you again.
Redressing the balance?
Whilst understanding the points raised by recent reviewers, we come away to get away from technology so wi-fi is not an issue and we don't have a dog, just enjoy other people's! We had a lovely week with the advantage of superb weather and enjoyed the peacefulness and pleasant surroundings on site. Our bird-feeder provided entertainment for our next door neighbours as well with regular visits from coal, blue and great tits, nuthatch, chaffinch, robin and even a pair of jays one day. Facilities immaculate.
Disillusioned
We have used this site on three occasions and whilst the site itself is clean and tidy there is a significant issue with the WI-Fi.
The Wi-Fi service on this site is very very poor. On each occasion we have visited we have been told it is out of order not just for a day - but for the whole of the three week duration of our stay. In this day and age the service is not good enough.
Please be aware there can also be an issue with barking dogs as it is a 'dog friendly site'.
