Spent 2 nights at the site and really enjoyed it. Site was clean and quiet with just a little road noise. Not far to walk to the village and found a cycle friendly road along the loch. Nice meal at the coach house opposite the site entrance.
Lovely Site
Stayed here in August really clean well kept site
You can easily walk into the little village from site to get all your essentials
Massive field just out of the site where the dogs can run play ball etc
We had to leave 2 days early due to personal reasons... Barbara and Ian the assistant Wardens were fantastic thanks and hope to see you again

Great Site - Facilities let it down
This site has a lot going for it. Set in a natural valley with a dramatic mountain backdrop and the river Dochart running by it. Great walks from the site out to Loch Tay and beyond.
We arrived to a warm welcome from a helpful warden and had a very nice pitch. The site and pitches are well maintained. Killin is a small village but has all the amenities you will need (shop, restaurants and pubs).
I normally would not complain about the facilities but on day 2 in the male toilet cubicles one was blocked the other was in a state that would challenge the strongest of constitutions. I can't (and don't want to) imagine the acrobatics required to leave it in such a state. I informed the warden who unblocked one cubicle straight away and I assume set about cleaning the other (I didn't stay to find out). OK, I hear you say this could happen anywhere - true. However, shortly after the loos had been cleaned that morning, someone discarded used toilet paper on the cubicle floor. This was still there the next morning. We lost confidence in the facilities and would not use them - left two days early.

Good site
We stayed 5 nights at Maragowan and found the area beautiful. The views of the hills from the site are good and the Loch, about a mile down the road is lovely. Killin has a good Coop which is well stocked and gets very busy. My husband and daughter hired a kayak which they enjoyed for a couple of hours. Kenmore, which is at the other end of the Loch is worth a visit but don't bother with the cafe which is right on the front. Lovely location but food very average. Drummond Hill has really good walks in the forest with an amazing viewpoint at the top, our dog loved running around here.
The site is okay, but the toilets blocks are now looking dated compared to many and there was a lot of road noise. There's no direct access to a dog walk and you need to walk about half a mile before you reach anywhere they can be let off lead. The wardens were friendly and we enjoyed our stay.
We had a lovely holiday here
I booked this last minute for may half term, it was a fantastic holiday. The site is well kept and lovely scenery. We took bikes and had a few bike rides from the site, and we took kayaks which we used from the site on the river which leads to Loch Tay.
The co op is close by, and there a several pubs.
Would recommend visiting Kenmore and the Crannog centre, very interesting.
I don’t normally use site facilities but as we were quite dirty after kayaking with muddy feet etc I decided to use shower block. They were clean but I felt they were a bit dated and grubby, but having said that I don’t normally use shower blocks so not sure what the norm standard is.
Staff were lovely and helpful. I read other reviews that mentioned excessive grass cutting- I did not find this.
Will be returning! My two young kids had the time of their lives meeting other kids on playground etc.
A great site
We've been here a few times and it is a consitently great site. Clean tidy quiet. With lots to do round and about. Staff are informative about local attractions. Tv hook up is brilliant!! Make sure you bring a long cable or buy one from the shop. Very reasonably priced. No negatives at all..
Lovely weekend at a lovely site,
Visited here last weekend for two nights and was very impressed with the place. Clean, tidy, friendly and well spaced pitches. Lovely walks starting from just outside the grounds, or a five minute wander into the village. Will definitely return.

Beautiful, peaceful and well situated
We visited on a cold March weekend and received the warmest of welcomes. The warden on duty was so lovely, friendly and smiling.
Gorgeous mountain views from all over the site, with lots of riverside pitches. It was quiet when we were there, and felt very spacious.
Facilities were clean and fresh. There’s a drying room, great for drying coats and boots if you’ve been out in the rain.
There’s a nice play park on site, but with the site being right on the river, children who’d use the play park would, in my opinion, need to be accompanied at all times. It’s not a site where I’d be happy allowing my ten year old to explore alone.
The site is situated just a few minutes easy walk on a pavement to Killin.

Great Site
Our first visit to this Site but it won't be our last. Friendly and efficient Staff. Not far to walk into Killin and also a nice walk down via Pier Road to the Loch. Just outside the Site , almost across the road from the entrance, there is a friendly wee Hotel/Pub where we had good service from friendly staff and a good meal too - there is a cheeky parrot in a cage who loves getting the top of his head rubbed!
A real gem
This was our first time at this site, and it won’t be our last! It’s a small site located on the banks of the river with lovely views of the surrounding hills. It’s about fifteen minutes walk from the centre of Killin, where there is a handy Co-op supermarket as well as other shops and cafés. If you’re active, there’s lots to do in the area - walking/cycling/kayaking/fishing etc. We collected walking leaflets from the Information board at the far end of the main street, and there’s a National Trust Office there with local Information too. The site is well kept with friendly wardens who helpfully pointed out which pitches became waterlogged in the rain.
