Looe Club Campsite
From the start this site really didn't do it for us as a family unit with a motorhome we arrived to quite an unwelcoming gentleman telling us we haven't pulled up to the line close enough on entering reception I wasn't greeted with the usual club site greeting at all but we thought it was sat and usually a busy day the site itself clean and tidy the pitches you pick your own so be early ! Are very tight the site wasn't in the best location for a family who use pubic transport when away as we have a big motor home and don't unhook your in the middle of nowhere in fact the place is actually called no man's land the buses well when they want to tum up that is only run every 2 hours that's not the club sites fault at all but when I enquired I just got told to look at the time table outside !again not great customer service the band system in place at the toilets does not work and only 4 showers for such a big site although I understand we lsd all living in different times at the moment and care is absolutely needed a little over the top I stood outside for nearly 10 minute with my little one no bands in the pot only to be told when someone came out that they were empty ! And if you like peace and quiet on a night steer clear of this site the kids were running in and out of vans and behind till nearly 10 we left 3 nights early ! Not great at all
Lovely 6 night stay
We’ve recently returned from a lovely 6 night stay in Looe. Although the hills to and from Looe are only for those extremely keen cyclists!! Lovely clean facilities, the band system in place worked well although some people did think that they could skip the queue especially when the younger girls were patiently queuing and abiding to the rules, my daughter was upset to the point she came to get me! A visit to the Coddy Shack is a must, the best fish and chips we’ve ever tasted. Millendreath beach was great for paddle boarding, Looe for crabbing and kayaking. Thanks for a great stay.
Well organised
First visit to Looe, fair walk to beaches and town, as expected.
Facilities and organisation of band system was excellent and well respected by most visitors.
An idea maybe to include a map of local area with site info as unable to access info room at moment but not a criticism.
Could have been better but spoilt by other guests
This was our first visit to Looe site and I don't think we will return. The site itself is in a good location and close to Looe, Polperro and other attractions in Cornwall. On turning up at 1.30pm we were told there were very few pitches available as people had been showing up from 9.00am and swearing at the staff. This was annoying as we had purposefully arrived after 1.00pm as requested in our email confirmation and so other people were not only turning up early to grab the best pitches but were then also abusing the staff! We eventually found a pitch in the top grassy area - we got on ok with our mover but the roads are very narrow and so larger outfits could find it difficult. The pitch was quite spacious and we were pleased until people started using it as a cut through to get to the facilities block. This continued throughout our stay - much to our annoyance and despite all the notices about not doing this (bearing in mind social distancing). We found a lot of the people on site converging in noisy groups and generally being extremely loud and children raced about on scooters and bikes with no supervision. The wristband system was openly disregarded - one woman said to me that she had taken all the bands away as they bleached her trousers! Overall this was not the type of atmosphere we would expect from a club site and we won't be back. We didn't spend too much time there anyway - Cornwall has lots of great things to do fortunately! Nearest beach is Millendreath - it has facilities and is a great beach for rock pooling, swimming and chilling out. Coddy Shack is good for fish and chips but be prepared to wait an hour if you arrive after 5.30pm!
Disappointed
Bad start to holiday sat nav took us and another couple to the wrong camp site. You need to continue along the road until you enter the 40mph limit and the entrance is by Dover House Bed & Breakfast. Arrived half an hour before 12 which brought rude comments from one male member of staff. Restrictions on access to toilet block (only 4 persons allowed) meant a queue outside for the toilet even if all toilets were available and the four inside were using the showers. A rethink on the system is needed. Likewise for the washing up area which had plenty of room for more than one sink to be in use. Tennis Courts were open but no other facilities which meant kids playing out around the site. We reported some noise from tennis court late at night which staff dealt with by locking it up at 9am. Ice cream and pizza vans were a nice touch. Been to better sites. Seaton was a lovely beach for family and dog.

Not up to CMAC usual standard!
This site should come with a warning. BEWARE!! OVERCROWDED NOISY AND NOT ENOUGH FACILITIES. Just returned after a week here. With the exception of luckily securing quiet “dead-end” pitches with my accompanying friends, and as long standing CAMC members we both felt this is a seaside resort site impersonating the usual CAMC high quality standard site. Too many young children unaccompanied wandering about, using toilets/showers etc unsupervised and paying no attention to Social distance rules. The central grass areas were extremely full and vans and awnings too close. Too many barking dogs. Too few water/waste/ service points and altogether extremely disappointing. Very little site management- definitely not the usual constant trim grass and ever present wardens. Altogether just another low quality site that we would associate with any other “club” not the CAMC needless to say we will not be back!
Great location for families. Great site
This is our second stay at this site and we enjoyed our stay- even more so as it was a welcome break in these COVID times. A little disappointed that the park and pool weren’t open- like the adjacent sites as the children have been couped up for four months and back to school in a few weeks in any case - but respect the decision made and grateful of the reduction in site fees
Wardens very pleasant and work very hard. The facilities were very clean and the ice cream van was a nice extra. The children were playing around the site- which was lovely to see. I didn’t witness any poor behaviour and all were very polite and respectful of others and rules. Site well situated for different activities, kayaking at Millendreath beach, walks, boat trips in looe, crabbing and the cody shack! A little further afield is the camel trail which also made for a great day. Would definitely visit again

Looe after the lockdown
After the recent lockdown it was a welcome bonus to be away. Check in was easy, facilities were as expected. Clean, and the control of people into the facilities was very good. The pizza and I've cream van was an added bonus. The only issue was children who were unsupervised by their parents. They went against the traffic flow, which when they come down a hill meant they were going a lot faster than 5mph on skateboards, scooters and bikes. We will use the site again, just not when children are on school holidays.
All the site staff were excellent and were busy at all times. Well done to all for having the site up and running.
Looe hasn't changed in all my years of visiting. Cream teas are a must try when here.
Disgrace
This site is not like a caravan club site, children are running about with no regard to social distancing, there are vans and sign written vehicle's towing caravans which I thought was not allowed on our sites. Feel very uncomfortable as a 20yr +member.
