Really nice stay at the sight in early April, however it really feels like it needs some investment. In the club site book it indicates that there are play facilities for children, sadly this is not the case which is a little annoying when you have children! Also the main topic of conversation on the site was the poor performance of the showers, the water pressure was unpredictable to say the least with people swapping cubicles mid shower to find one that worked. Such a shame as this site has so much to offer. Come on Caravan Club or whatever you're now called, sort this out its such a shame.
Needs Some Money Spent And Not On Pointless New Rebranding!
I have always liked Chirk and Lady Margaret's Park.
After not visiting for a couple of years it is clear that it is a now overdue an upgrade or some refurbishment, especially in respect of the somewhat dated toilet and washing facilities. When this is obvious, then money spent on a pointless and (dare I say?), ugly rebranding, just looks like an even worse waste of money than it obviously is!
I needed to move from upper wooded Dell area to the lower pitches to be able to get the WiFi access I had paid for. I was very annoyed that I needed to move the next day as this is definitely a faff in a caravan.
I was surprised that for all of the week I was at Lady Margaret's Park, a drinking water tap was hanging off my nearest water /disposal point. This seemed to point to the fact that maintenance is not all it could be here sadly.
Gripes aside it is a site in a lovely location. I love Chirk as it is a quaint, friendly little town. The Hand Hotel is a bit of a gem too. We enjoyed a very nice Sunday lunch there.
The nearby railway station is a great facility with hourly trains to Shrewsbury and Chester and beyond.
We enjoyed our stay and were lucky with the weather. The site is starting to look a little bit tired though.

its a lovely site this is our 7 visit always clean and tidy, including toilets which are a bit dated.wardens always helpful. last time we where there the kids play house had been put out of bounds now its gone, shame as i would not take my grandchildren there as nowt on site to amuse them, otherwise fine.

My wife and I stayed at lady Margaret's over the Easter weekend on arriving at the camp greeted by polite and friendly staff we found the site very well laid out good sized pitches great place to go and explore the great out doors before coming to this site I read some reviews on the site and I would just like to say that I found the shower and toilet block were immaculate with plenty of hot water and fully working we wouldn't hesitate in coming back don't be put off by some reviews

Great site with a few issues!
This site is located in a fantastic position for those that enjoy the great outdoors, there is loads of walking and cycling routes from the site as well as Chirk castle that is well worth a visit, Llangollen with its canal and steam train are a must, perhaps not a site for families with young children as there are no big tourist attractions and only a very small play area. We pitched in the wooded area at the top of the site and I personally found the 24 hour humming of the nearby factory quite intrusive, especially in the early hour of the morning, I feel the lower part of the site would be alot quieter. The toilet and shower block were kept very clean by the wardens but they are in desperate need of an update, during our stay we had no hot water at times, dripping showers and taps were the norm, this wouldn't take much to sort out. All in all we had a great stay in this lovely area.
Good visit
Other than being greeted by a grumpy warden asking to move my MoHo I really enjoyed the location, facilities and numerous walks straight from site.
Gentleman warden pleasant, knowledgeable etc.
Despite all the reviews ref showers/facilities I found it all in good order, spotlessly clean, hot water and plenty of pressure. Yes, they could do with a facelift but no way deters from the purpose. I have showered in a lot worse.
Definitely go back to explore the area.
Worst showers, ever on a club site
Although spotlessly clean these were the worst showers we have ever experienced on a club site in over 27 years of membership. None existent pressure and on one occasion no hot water at all rendered them unusable. Totally unacceptable for the club to waste money on rebranding but leaving facilities in this condition. A refund should have been made.
Rant over. Wardens working very hard to bring this lovely site back up to an acceptable condition but it has to be said " you can't polish a coconut "
Wonderful location with good walks in both directions along the canal and to Chirk Castle.
Chirk is a little delight having excellent butcher, green grocer and bakery, also a trout farm a mile or so away. Will return when the site has had a refit.

lovely site and the most pleasant wardens in the Caravan Club
This site is lovely, excellent location and beautifully maintained. As mentioned in the title, the wardens are by far the most pleasant, welcoming and helpful we've encountered (lifetime of caravanning, met many many wardens) The only minus point is the showers - little or no water pressure and showers always cold no matter what time of day we tried to use them, morning noon and night. They should just cut their losses and shut the block because it's a negative they don't need as the site, location and everything else is five star. Chirk castle on the doorstep, lovely days out to be had in the castle and particularly the gardens, the site is also walking distance from the station, trains to Chester and further into Wales. Eating out on the doorstep also good, Thai noodle bar and Indian both good.

All Fur coat and no ********?
New signs and logos resplendent on arrival, including The Wardens' Team with their new 'T' shirts. No expense spared on the corporate 'fur coat'?
As usual a very warm welcome from the staff on duty. This really is a green and pleasant site. Chirk Castle (NT) is within easy walking distance as is the small town, with pub, Post Office, cafe, Co-op.
Chirk Station is just down the road giving access to Shrewsbury and beyond. A canal side cycle path can take you some 11 miles to Trevor via the famous aqueduct.
It's all good - and then there is the toilet block! See all the earlier reviews. It must be an original and long overdue for a refurb?
There was no hot water in the block for the second night of our stay.
Yes, we have on-board facilities but the point is that we have paid for access to showers etc. Club sites are no longer a cheap option and Members can expect to have an element of 'quality' for their money, can't they? Okay, the Warden did his best, an engineer was on site all evening to fix the boiler but by all accounts this was not the first time.
Come on East Grinstead! This is a popular, busy site. Please spend more of our money on 'knickers' and less on 'fur coats'!
Appalling shower block.
Recently stayed on site 10/4/2017. Wardens excellent, site good with exception of shower block which was awful. Tiny cubicles, no water pressure. Worst block I have visited on network and I have been to most. Do not think I shall go there again.
