Great Winter site

Just returned from Lady M's, we usually have three winter breaks here. Never lets us down, great dog walks from site, short walk to a small selection of shops inc. excellent butcher and fruit/veg shop. Trains to Chester and Shrewsbury, station short walk or bus to Oswestry for day trips out. Hope the site does'nt change much with the planned re-fury.

Winter place to be

This is our favourite place to come in winter time. Easy to access from the main road. We have been coming to Lady Margaret's Park for some time now, it is a great base, lovely walks from site, local shops and pubs, however the site itself is looking a little tired, a little TLC/upgrade is overdue. i.e. pitches are lower than the road, TV signal is not good in an evening. Even saying all that the wardens are lovely, friendly and do a great job, keeping the site clean and tidy.

One of our favourite sites.

We've just come back from 4 nights at LMP. We have been here before. The site is in a great location particularly for walkers (and Dogs). Right next door is the grounds of Chirk castle which has acres of parkland & woodland to walk around. Whilst we were there we were told that the site is closing in October for a refurb. Top of the list must be the facility block and putting TV hook up on the bollards. The facility block is dated and the water pressure low, with regard to the TV signal it's very poor & needs a booster system on the bollards. This site is open all year and in the winter months when its dark early in the evening people want to watch TV but they can't because the TV signal is so poor. Whilst we were at LMP the wardens were relief wardens covering for the regular warden and they were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were a credit to the Club. Given that the Club are closing the site I so hope that they get the refurb right & listen to members who use the site. This is a great site and we will return.

Just spent Christmas at Lady Margaret site, fantastic area, brilliant staff, don`t understand some members gripes about facilities ok not the newest but kept clean and tidy at all times, staff really on the ball and pleasant at all times. We will be back at this wonderful spot in the future.

brilliant

This site is a First Class site, clean, great facilities and what friendly wardens, from the warm welcome to the friendly advice it will be hard to beat. Recommended Previous comments about the facilities seem unfounded, we found them clean, spacious with lovely hot showers you didn't want to get of. This was our second visit and we will certainly become regular visitors here when we can get away

Great site....... But

This is our 2nd review of Lady Margarets & its a site we really like. Right next door is the grounds of Chirk Castle which has acres of parkland and woods to walk your dog and bird watch etc. Less than a mile away is the Shropshire Union Canal which offers a lovely 3 mile walk to the World Heritage site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which was built by Thomas Telford in 1805. The walk is dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. Back to the site, I have put a "but" in my title because there are 2 negatives about this site. 1st the TV signal is poor to average & the Club should install TV hook up on the EHU bollards to remedy this. 2nd the toilet block is dated and the water pressure for a shower isn't great. However the block was clean and mostly warm but it does need a refurb. To sum up we love Lady Margarets & will return again, we visited in November and the site was full throughout our visit. If you visit LMP then if you do nothing else then take the walk along the Canal to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct its a wonder to see.

A site in decline

The signs of neglect on this once great site were obvious from arrival. Pulling up at the arrivals area it was difficult to see the worn out road markings and the ramshackle fencing around the staff compound opposite was being held up with props - this rather set the scene for the entire visit. There were road signs with large growths of fungus on them and the hardstanding pitches were more moss, weed and mud than gravel. The service points and other structures were all needing attention and the information room did not seem to have been updated for a while. The facilities were old and in need of refurbishment but clean. Along with other club sites they have moved to the larger skips instead dustbins which are difficult to access, especially for those less physically able. A real pity as the site is in a great location.

Lovely, quiet atmosphere on site.

Stayed for 3 nights during last week of October 2019, this was my first time at this site. A friendly welcome on arrival and quickly booked in. I was a little worried when I was told there were only 4 pitches left to choose from, but I need not have, I found a nice quiet pitch out of the way, ideal for me. Great to have onsite laundry facilities, especially as I’m currently living in my motorhome. Surprised that there is no onsite shop, even just for the basics. Lovely walks and cycle trails along the canal. Pitches could do with some TLC, mine was mossy and muddy in places. Overall, this is a peaceful, well placed site and I enjoyed my stay.
