A 'gem' of a site, so well situated, quiet, clean well organised, family friendly, dog friendly, thank goodness it's open! We're booking again
Nice location next to castle and town
We stayed here for 2 nights. Myself, my husband our 14 year old daughter and our dog. There is a lovely walk up to Chirk castle and a short 10 minute walk to the town. The site is a nice peaceful site. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Return Visit
Our 3rd visit to the site this time a little different as the facilities were closed due to COVID. A first for us totally using our own facilities but we coped. The site was busier than expected Full in fact on most nights but still very peaceful. Great for visiting further into Wales, Walking and Cycling. Not really for younger children.
As with all CAMC sites we have visited it is clean and well run by the wardens.
A welcome slice of harmony during very sad times
Simon and team doing an outstanding job during this awful Cov-19 pandemic, disinfecting taps etc. The place is immaculate and peaceful, nice walks and a village nearby that has all you need. Excellent friendly hosts and made to feel very welcome here even in my old hymer. Shall be back for sure.
Just Perfect
Location is perfect. Not only is the site itself lovely, but you are surrounded by nature with great walks, places of interest and a really nice well provisioned small town. We bought some bird feed from a local supplier which we used on one of the bird tables and were treated to an abundance of wildlife including grouse, woodpeckers, blue tits, robins, chaffinches, rabbits and squirrels - all of whom enjoyed the feast! ... this is one of our favourite sites as motorhomers, as there is so much to do which is easily accessible on foot (or bike) rather than having to use transport/taxis. Can’t rate the facilities as we generally use our own but five stars for everything else and the staff in attendance were really lovely. So happy we can carry on camping despite Corona!!
Enjoyable
A very pleasant five day stay, site a little tired but the location more than made up for this, even the high winds, rain and hailstone didn't put me off as you could still have an enjoyable walk through the nearby Country Park, definitely another site to add to my list of favourites.

Winter at Lady Margarets
We always enjoy our winter breaks here usually about three weeks between Jan to March. Great for dog walking, canal or Castle. Although facilities are dated and some pitches more moss than stone I hope "they" don't spoil this spacious site by over developing, It's lovely just as it is.
Excellent. Site
This is a fantastic site with warm, friendly wardens. Always a smile and a kind word these are really exceptional people. Whilst the facilities need a bit of a refresh they remain clean and functional. Excellent dog walking field which for once is a decent size for our two big dogs. Lots to do in the area including big the wonderful castle and impressive viaduct. All in all a little gem.
Lovely Winter Break
This was our first visit to this site but wont be our last, the Friendly welcome and advice on arrival was second to none and made us feel welcome and settled in straight away. the facilities are very good but the site could do with some TLC to bring it up to to the Standards of other sites we have been to. the staff are excellent and so friendly. the walks direct from site are lovely and there are so many different routes you can choose from and the village is a easy 15 mins walk away if you are going at night a torch is essential as the lanes are quite dark leading to/from the site. the locals are so friendly and helpful there are lots of places to eat from fish and chip shop to Indian restaurant to pubs and there's a couple of mini supermarkets and a great local butchers and local Greengrocers both with quality produce, cant wait to return here
Very much a favourite site
We spent a winter weekend here, as we do a couple of times each year. Its a good location, being close to the main A5 trunk road and less than an hour from home.
There are great dog walks locally and a few shops and places to eat nearby.
Wardens here have always been very friendly and helpful and this time was no exception.
There are a couple of downsides though. The toilet blocks are showing their age now being a little dilapidated and dated looking. In some areas the pitches, even though they are gravel, are on too much of a slope and have a fair bit of mud on them from the moss and algae growing there. I also think its time that a site as popular as this had proper serviced pitches as an option. Apart from these disadvantages, this is a great site and, apparently, there is a refurbishment taking place in October 2020 so we will wait to try it out once this is complete......
