Standard of site

We spent last weekend at this site which is excellent and must be one of the best on the network! The bistro is a credit to the site although we had to wait a little while the food is cooked fresh to order, the staff are very attentive and give there all to service. Would highly recommend this site

Quiet November Break

We’ve just spent 2 nights here, our second visit. As you’d expect from a CMC site it is excellent, everything has been thought of, even a toilet for use when the toilets are being cleaned, great idea. The whole site is well cared for and the toilet block is clean and warm. We ate at the Wanderer Bar and Bistro, which is on site and had a lovely meal, steak and ale pie was the pie of the day and it was delicious, served with chips and a selection of fresh vegetables, there is something for everyone on the menu and also a specials board, we couldn’t manage pudding but the selection looked tempting. We thought the prices were reasonable and it is really useful to have a place like this to go to on site. There are 3 bus stops outside the site entrance, we caught the bus to Knaresborough, York or Harrogate services also go from these stops. There is a pub which serves food 10-15 minute walk away. Can’t wait to return

Will return

A really good site walking distance from Knaresborough, or you can go on the bus. Very friendly helpful staff and we will return. However we were disappointed with The Wanderer Bistro, I couldn't read the menu as the lighting was so dim and my meal was disappointing. Will probably try it again when we return as it is a really good facility to have on site. I'll take a torch next time! And hopefully choose a better meal, I had the vegetarian option and these are often underwhelming. Lots to see and do nearby, even in November. Lots of dog friendly cafes with good food. There's also a roman site at Alborough with mosaic floors that is worth a visit.

First class site

The site improvements speak for themselves.... facilities are super.... particularly in the new main block. The site is well laid out and pitches spacious and mainly level....rock legs needed though for awnings. The site staff are super. Location is a little too far from the town but nice all the same. Our only reservation is the bistro which is practically empty....and is dog friendly and so we will not use it.

Fab week away

Fabulous site. The alterations have been done to an amazing standard. The new look bistro is a wonderful thing to have on site. Sampled it on our last night and couldn’t fault it. Food was excellent and the staff so attentive. Third time staying on this site and I’ll be back again! Lots of things for the kids to do nearby.

Brilliantly situated and suited to All types

We have stayed here twice this year. This time for a little longer than last, but we still have not exhausted the places to visit around here. Site is well run and efficient, with good facilities, and a wonderful place to eat on site. I would say if anything though, it does not lend itself to families, but more to adults and couples of any age. Bus outside to Harrogate one way, and Ripon the other. Full marks from us

Lovely site with friendly wardens, access good, facilities excellent, although quite a lot of vans in a smallish space the layout makes it feel very spacious and not overcrowded

A very good site

It's clear that a bit of money has been spent on this site recently. It looks clean, fresh and has its own on-site restaurant which mainly operates in the evenings. The pitches are wide and well laid out with good gravel coverage. They seem to drain well. It's in a good location (but currently major road works affect access from the south. It backs onto a static caravan site but for our one night stay it was very peaceful. Good for Harrogate and other parts of N Yorkshire
