Cold welcome

Arrived at site for 3 nights August to a member of staff in reception who just managed to say hello and gave a cold welcome ( obviously not enjoying her job ). Thought she must be having a bad day so set up to enjoy a few peacefull days. Well the grumpy staff bug must have been catching as the staff member cutting the grass on our pitch couldn't even say hello and moaned as he had to move our electric cable. Real staff issues here!!  The site is bang in the middle of static caravan sites who unlike Cc sites don't do quiet time so expect noise to the early hours.  There is no dog walk on site why I don't know, so you have to take your dogs onto the single track road out of the site but be aware no paths so keep your eyes open for cars flying down the lane. Not the best site and again one that needs an update which is long over due so come on Cc spend some money Won't be returning sorry

Here's to Hurn!

We stayed for six nights last week. This is the first proper club site we've stayed at, and I've got to say it more than met our expectations! The pitches were immaculate along with the toilet and showers. Our children loved the playground too! Unlike other members we found the warden extremely helpful, she couldn't do enough for us. Also I liked being able to pick my own pitch, we stayed near the playground and wasn't asked to move the van at anytime! The site is nicely situated close to the beech and only a short drive to some nice pubs and restaurants. All in all we'll definitely return. 10/10

Shame about the waden

Stayed for 3 nights in august and rained the whole time. Apart from that the site clean and tidy.  Tumble dryer in laundry was a bit of a rip off. Brean theam park and pool was good for kids. The one thing that let the site down was the warden she looks down her nose at you, not a nice person and very false.

Aug stay 6 nights 2015

We enjoyed our stay here as there are many places to visit nearby, Weston super mare being one of them especially as they allow dogs on the beach past the pier all year round. We also visited the sand sculpture exhibition on Westons seafront and got a discount for being caravan club members and the dog was welcome in their too! The only issue we had which disappointed us was as we are relatively new to caravanning the on site staff handed us a map and said drive round and find a pitch then come back and tell us the number. We did this and set up exactly as we had on the previous 2 sites we had visited and then 2 hours later we were asked to move it over slightly, which we did. Only to then be asked again another hour later after having hooked it all up to the car and then moving it and setting up again to move it again! It should be made very clear when you arrive exactly where you want the caravan parked or escort people to their pitch like others do on caravan club sites.

Need a dog walk on Site

A lovely site but it so needs a dog walk area on site. This time we watched as people walked there dogs around the site and the wardens having to ask them to take their dogs offsite as they had had complaints from members. There are some great walks nearby and the beach which is dog friendly is only about 1/4mile away but to get to it you have to walk down Hurn Lane which is quite narrow with no path, car drivers tend to not want to give way or think people might be walking it’s a wonder there has not been an accident.

Nice stay again

Second visit to this site with our grandkids. Very friendly folks running the site. Easy access via the eastern side of Hurn Lane. Some noise from the other site but not intrusive, very busy site - but hey it was August, so expect it. Toilets and site were very clean and well cared for. Dog walk would be useful but we understand this will happen soon. Easy access from M5 jtn 22. Thanks Hurn lane we will be back

Very very good site bar a few small things

We just came back from a great weeks holiday at this site, taking in the beach and Cheddar Gorge. The site itself is great for kids, the playground is designed for slightly older kids (Not Preschool) and there is a football/basketball court. Staff we fantastic, really friendly and helpful. 2 Toilet/shower blocks, both clean, the one near the grass pitches slightly older but still fine.  We pitched near the playground which was perfect for our 7 & 10 yr olds and it was ideal bar 2 points. 1) the wifi is dire, could only pick it up on some devices and its not good enough to stream and barely good enough to use web - we used it to access tide info etc and it took an age. 2) The noise from the holiday park next door - whilst not overly loud it was constant from mid morning to early evening so did spoil a little the relaxing time outside but was bearable. Overall we gave the week 8/10 and would happily book again if we are visiting the area.
