Ideal Beach location

The facilities and cleanliness of the site were as you would expect from a club site. Welcoming staff greet you upon your arrival. Situated amongst a number of sites however, we found the noise had a tendency to travel over at times. A nice stroll down a country lane leads you to a large expanse of beach ideal for everyone from couples to families, to dogs who like to run free.

Great time

Yet again we had a fatastic trip to Hurn lane: Staff are fantastic, site is fantastic, We really couldn’t fault it in any way. Unfortunately other members we can they just didn’t respect the facilities, such a shame we have members like this.

Fantastic site but avoid in the summer

Firstly, it needs to be said that this is a lovely site, amongst the nicest we've stayed at. The wardens we dealt with were so lovely and helpful and kept the site in great shape. The facilities in the newer toilet block are the nicest I have encountered at a CC site. However, I would suggest some negatives. 1) The play area. There is a lovely park for smaller children (under 8s) which is great. However, next to this is a caged basketball court which really causes a lot of problems. The basketball court attracted a lot of older children and teenagers. Unfortunately, these teenagers had no regard for the small children playing in the park and were heard swearing loudly and generally being a little aggressive. This meant that we had to keep our little ones away from the park. I don't know if it was just bad timing but there happened to be a couple of famililies who were happy for their teenagers to swear and act inappropriately all hours of the day. The parents would also smoke in this area too. It was really unpleasant and nothing like I've ever experienced at other CC sites. 2) The location. The park itself is lovely but Brean is an absolute hell-hole - a simple drive through the village (which is home to a large Pontins complex) was enough to put us off ever stopping there. Weston is similar but not as bad. We wondered if the park's proximity to Brean was why there seemed to be families who didn't respect the facilities as much as we are used to at other CC sites. That said, the National Trust centre at Brean Downs is definitely worth a visit. So all things considered, we would not return to this site unless as a stop off to Cornwall.

We will return

Stayed here for one night. Easy check in with friendly staff. We chose a grass pitch which was near the entrance on the right hand site. The nearest toilet block was new and it was of the same standard as the other 2 club sites we have so far visited. One small concern was the ladies was round the back of the block, maybe this is not a huge safety concern but perhaps it would have been better to have the ladies at the front. Used the older block for a shower as our nearest was closed for cleaning and this had smaller cubicles and plastic seat - maybe this is standard in CC sites, however definitely prefer the larger ones with the handy bench area. Very clean, tidy site. Good location for the beach, about 10 minute walk via the dunes (pathway just opposite the main road) and nice quiet roads around which seem good for cycling, we enjoyed a good circular 5 mile run. Coop is nearish in Berrow.

Nice Site. Shame about some behaviour

We arrived here for a 3 night stay breaking up our journey home from Cornwall. Site sign could do with being a bit more visable on road. Wardens were very welcoming and helpful. Good size pitches we had hard standing with relatives next to us. Site pretty and clean. What spoilt it for us was the state some people left the toilet block in! I am not blaming children as parents should be responsible but the state that some toilets were left in were disgusting. I felt for the wardens having to clean them which they did and made a good job but some people just didnt seem to care. I hear alot of moans about dogs but I think some users were worse than dogs. Location of the site for burnham was good but quite a walk to nearest beach. Nice Indian restaurant in Burnham called chandis. we had take away one evening. We would visit this site again but maybe not in the height of summer but please members respect the facilities and the wardens job of cleaning up!!!

Excellent Site

August 2018 Highly recommended site. 1. Excellent dog friendly beach nearby 2.Immaculatey clean toilet blocks 3. Well maintained and ideally situated water points 4.Good childrens play area including football/baseball enclosure. 5. Large spacious pitches 6. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful wardens (best we've come across) 7. Designated disabled pitch Only improvement would be the on site dog walk. Could this be extended? Will visit again.

Fantastic place to stay!

Fantastic place to stay! We arrived on Sunday 5th August and unfortunately had a problem with our caravan. The staff went above any beyond to help us! They work extremely hard to ensure the site and facilities are spotless, we will definitely be returning. Thank you to all the staff!

Pleasant site

Stayed here 2 nights in July in very hot weather. Good sized pitches and well dressed and level. A very open site so no opportunity for shade from the sun. Very friendly wardens. Pretty site entrance with colourful flower tubs. Club directions easy to follow. Good facilities, hot showers and 2 motor home waste points which is a plus!. Site itself was peaceful but on occasions you could hear music from neighbouring holiday parks. Bus stop is a 5 minute walk down a single track lane. Burnham on Sea Esplanade £5.70 return. Typical seaside town - eateries, souvenir shops, small pier and amusement arcades. The disappointment was the dog park. This is a small strip of grass only which surrounds a netball/basketball pitch and a children's play area - neither of which were used at all for the duration of our stay. With so many Club members having pets, it would be better to remove at least the netball pitch and increase the size of the dog walk/park.

Over night stay

Travelling from Redruth to Carsington Water is 330 miles and we chose this site to break our journey. It's a nicely kept site with pleasant staff. We chose a neatly trimmed grass pitch which was level We only hooked up to the electrics and used some bottled water for a quick getaway. The site was easy to find and is only about 15 minutes from the M5. We were fortunate to be there on the 23 of June which was fish and chip night. Your order was delivered to site. There is little in the way of a dog walk but found a walk down the lane was safe enough and a dog bin was provided by the barrier. I would visit this site again.

First CL Site ever stopped at

Couldn't believe all the facilities on my first ever proper CL Site. The showers were excellent and clean. Could have done with a local map to let you know were off site dog walks were.
