Not for us

Well we arrived here and found it very clean and well maintained. However very disappointed to find that for two days in a row our water supply on the serviced pitched was disconnected and our hose pipe was just thrown across the pitch. The first day this happened our clothes dryer was also taken off the grass, pulled apart and was sitting on the ground in two pieces. I asked the warden about this the first time and was told they had been cutting the grass. Surely the warden who cut the grass would put our equipment back in place. Not happy about this at all. On one occasion I was ask to leave the shower block as it was to be cleaned although I had just gone in there with a towel for a quick shower, they were cleaning it 15 minutes before the time stated on all the signs. It was 10am and the shower block was due to be cleaned between 10.15 and 11am. The worst things for me was that as we were packing up to leave one of the wardens was walking around with a petrol blower, blowing all the rubbish grit and other dirt off the road towards our car and caravan. He was within 2m of our caravan. Not at all happy as it is surely common sense and obvious that you do not blow dirt over a customers setup. I heard many other caravan users who also had issues. They may wish to keep the site maintained to a high level but these wardens must understand that people like us are their customers. This is one of many Caravan and motorhome sites we have been to but will not be going back to this one.

A NICE, WELL MAINTAINED SITE

We planned a week's stay at the site but unfortunately one of our party was taken ill and our visit was cut short. The staff were really helpful and offered us a refund for the nights that we had paid for but were unable to stay. This was our second visit to Hurn Lane and we cannot fault the site. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and the site is very well maintained. The shower facilities are light, airy and spotlessly clean with plenty of room. There is sometimes noise from other sites which are close by but this does not cause any problem. We would certainly visit the site again and recommend it to others.

Welcome Overnight Stop

After a 6 hour journey from Derbyshire ... roadworks on motorways🙄, it was a very welcome break on my journey to Cornwall. Located about 10 minutes from the M5 the site is easy to find. Although surrounded by other commercial sites, this site is private and on this occasion, very tranquil. First impressions are that the site is immaculately presented. My serviced pitch was spacious and well maintained. The wardens were efficient and friendly. For me the best thing was the local beach. Five minutes drive away, the beach offers miles of golden sands. Ideal to exercise my stir crazy dogs😜. I’d not hesitate to stay at Hurn Lane again and it’s ideally placed to break a journey.

Lovely stay

We stayed here for only one night with our two black Labradors. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The beach is only a ten minute walk away where the sands are gorgeous and you can walk for ages. The dog walk on the site is small but a great help late at night.

Short Break.

Took the grandkids away for half term but didn't want to spend hours in the car so decided on Hurn lane, being only a couple of hours away. The ratings we have posted tell it all. The wardens were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The site was spotless, as were the toilet blocks. We had a grass pitch by the park for the children and although there were quite a few children using it the noise from the play area was not intrusive. The only small draw back was the lane to the beach is narrow and winding with no footpath, not very good for walking with kids. It is an easy drive with car parks on the beach so that wasn't too much of a problem. It gets a thumbs up from us and the kids. Regards Mick Sutton

Dissappointed in location,

The site is lovely but set in an ocean of static caravans. I suspect it will be noisy in high season. The beach is a short walk away but is poor, with many warnings on safety. In know the caravan and motorhome club can do nothing about its neighbours but potential visitors should be aware of the location etc

Disappointing

We have just spent 10 nights at Hurn Lane with our little Tibetan Spaniels. The dog walk is dreadful, so tiny. We usually use Cirencester Park a lot where the dog walk is fantastic as we can let the dogs off the lead and they have a good run round. Since we arrived there has been dog mess in the dog walk twice where people are too lazy to clean up despite there being a bin close by and signs on the gate. On the Sunday there were fireworks from an adjacent site. Although this only lasted about 10 minutes our dogs were absolutely traumatised, it was so close it sounded like a bomb had gone off. When we opened the door to see where they were going off we could hear other dogs crying because of the fireworks. It was a dreadful night. Although the site is kept very tidy It does need a larger area for dogs. We saw many people walking their dogs across grass as there is nowhere to give them a good walk unless you go off site where there is no paths and blind corners.

easter break

first visit to Hurn lane over the Easter weekend not good first impressions wardens in charge not very helpful unlike the helpers site its self laid out well and tidy you would need to pick your pitch carefully as some back on to a residential site and can be noisy, toilets are only cleaned and replenished once a day really not enough when busy so you would need to pick your visiting times carefully and take your own loo roll found wardens very clicky with regulars this is a site we would revisit
