Lovely site

Having read some of the previous reviews we were a little wary of this site, yes there was some noise in the evenings from the other huge static sites in the area. if you choose a pitch that is not around the edge, if that would worry you, it really is not a problem, and out of school holidays probably not an issue at all.the wardens were all very friendly and the site a credit to them all. If it was not so far away from us ( Scotland ) we would definitely be visiting more frequently.

Outstanding Site Absolutely Loved This Site we will definitely be returning with more of our family !

So starting with the site .. just awesome .. clean .. very clean .. tidy .. extremely tidy .. the hedgerows were immaculate as was the grass .. we had the luxury of the fully serviced pitch .. fabulous size and set far enough apart for privacy .. everything worked .. no tripping boxes .. no dripping taps .. the pitch drained so quickly too when it threw it down .. absolutely immaculate pitches ! As for the staff .. they made our holiday feel like their priority .. never interfered with our peace whilst completing their daily duties .. couldn’t be more respectful or approachable .. they were all so very friendly .. we had such a fabulous two weeks and look forward to returning with more of our family ! The area is a dog walkers paradise .. as a beach loving family we feel we found a true gem here .. the beach is fabulous .. we spent 13 nights at this site .. travelled the coast in both directions .. found it to be great for all the family .. we truly enjoyed every day here .. even the one wet one .. which was a nice break from the raging heatwave .. Thank you for a fabulous July 2019 break Hurn Lane Caravan Site Staff .. we had the best time ever !

We love it here.......

Its the fourth time we have visited this site this year. We live fairly locally and love it because its so great for walking the dogs on the beach. The only slight downside is the walking distance from the site to the beach, which is a good 20 minutes, some of it along a narrowish lane but dont let this put you off as its worth it once you get to the beach. The site itself is immaculately kept, we always try to pitch on grass and also on this site i think the grass area is much nicer although a little more cosy. The facilities are clean as on most sites, the shower/toilet block located in the grass area has better more powerful showers as it seems newer more modernly fitted. Overall great and we will be back a few more times this year!

Good site

We stayed here for three nights last week (18th July) and found it to be a great site. Arriving later was no problem - the wardens were excellent, couldn't be friendlier and nicer if they tried. We had a serviced pitch and, just as a word of warning, be prepared by having more fresh water and waste piping as the water points etc. are between the two pitches and if your van is on the right hand side (looking at the hook-up) your waste etc is further away. If you're caught short they do sell it on site (cash only.) The dog walk is also small but OK. With one exception everyone cleaned up after their dogs - the one selfish person was shameful - but it is small. Burnham and Brean aren't far - walkable to Brean - and the beach is OK, especially if the weather is good (but isn't that the same all over.) There's been reports of noise (I wasn't aware of any [other than airplanes overhead every now and again] but we were outside of school holidays.) All in all a good site which we have booked to stay at again later in the year.

exactly what was needed

This was just what i wanted for 2 days. clean, neat and civilised . I can quite understand that this site can get quite noisy, it is surronded (3 sides) by holiday villages . However when i was there it was not the school holidays, so no probs. Someone else has complained about the noise of the lawn mowing etc. well i would rather put up with that than have to walk through knee high grass. The site is well manicured and very well maintained, all the staff were polite, helpfull and amusing.I can honestly say that without a doubt if you are heading for North devon or Cornwall and want to break your journey this is the place to stay. The approach is not very inspiring but it is a very rural area just down the road. The shops are not really in walking distance. The beach on the other hand is awe inspiring, not a place of entertainment for miles. Possibly the best "natural" beach in the area. It would take a good couple of thousand people to make any impresion on its cleaness and tranquility.Go know before global warming submerges the whole area. Loved it.

What an awful site and I’m not joking

Well where do I start arrived here for one night stop over from Leeds to Cornwall for a peaceful rest and a good sleep wardens were really friendly but not sure if the one that dealt with us could not understand the Yorkshire language. We were told we were on plot 95 on the grass which we did not mind for one night until we saw the pitch it was very small and backed onto a basketball / football court with a mesh fence also there was a small playground and the oblong dog walk was here too a nightmare pitch don’t have a dog but was asked by several people when we were sat out were it was it was so small. At about 8 pm loud music started to play on one of the numerous campsites adjoining and at that time about 10 children were in the football area kicking a ball that came over the fence several times everybody decided that a good path to this was behind our van. The sound of the ball hitting the fence every few seconds was horrendous and this continued until 10 pm. Finally got to sleep woke the next morning at 7ish by loud shouting children on an adjacent site in the playground. We went out for food the night before and on the return the road was shut and security informed us the the road was blocked with a burning car. The area around the campsite is garish and scruffy the site is surrounded on all 4 sides by other mobile home campsites this makes the rules for the caravan club a farce. I’m not sure what people see in the site but I will not be visiting again and would like to warn people if you have no kids and a large dog it’s not the site for you. It would be better if this pitch was taken away and the ball pitch incorporated into the dog walk. Lastly Burnham on sea is like something out of the dark ages drunken people Meandering about in charge of children with only amusements and bars places to eat if I had to chose between Burnham on sea and watching paint dry I’d pick the latter

Great site.

Second visit to Hurn Lane much better weather this time, toilets are usually spotless but some ladies left toilets in a mess there is a brush at the side of toilet for this purpose so no need for this. .The wardens work hard to look after site always busy & very friendly, will be back again in the future .
