A Grear Holiday

Another good stay at a great site . The chip van that arrives on a Tuesday is fantastic which meant we didn't have to cook on our first day which was a bonus. On our travels there is a lovely place just down the road called Wareham which is a must see visit & there is a great pub down the road called The Silent Woman . I I have any criticism then it was the dogs barking all day from the travellers camp & a very poor wifi connection which to be honest is not worth the money or the hassle but apart from that it was great

First CAMC site in our campervan

A very nice site. The facilities are excellent. A good dog walking field is included in the site.\ The site staff were friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring Dorset. We would stay here again.

Hunters Moon again comes through with flying colours.

Holidayed at Hunters Moon for the past three years, this year was our longest outing of 21 nights, was able to switch pitches after the 1st night and as luck would have it back on to the pitch we have been on for the last three years...kind of feels like home. The site, it's wardens/assistant wardens and other staff are all just excellent, friendly, polite, helpful and always willing to help if/when required. The facilities are impeccable, the pitches as ever are always excellent, the small shop also works and now with the added addition of a mobile chip van on a Tuesday evenings (just be prepared for a wait as it's very popular) Thanks again Hunters Moon, the only downside to our holiday was the disgraceful service GreenFlag provided on our return journey home (posted something on this in another section) Would we recommend Hunters Moon, absolutely, first class, go on try it, you won't be dissappointed.

Unsettling start but turned out lovely

Arriving at tea time, we had to choose between pitch 41 or 113. 41 was hardstanding and covered by trees and 113 was grass but too small to accommodate our awning. We don't think that 113 should be classed as a standard pitch with awning. That is our only negative about this site. Anyway the wardens were lovely and extremely helpful and we moved to another pitch the next morning. Facilities are spotlessly clean and this is a very pleasant site, both peaceful even though there were children playing. The space for children to play is excellent too and it looks good for dogs. This was our second visit to the site as our first was 3 years ago but early in the year. We found a mans watch in the showers and my husband handed it in to the wardens, they told us the owner had claimed it too so that was good too. We will return again.

Wardens make the Holiday so restful

My Partner is seriously disabled and the only way we can holiday is in our caravan, towed by a VW Camper van, with a deal of medical kit on board. I am always wary to ask that I may be allowed to park with my sliding door of the VW outside the door of the caravan, so that if needed, I can access emergency medical kit quickly. Some wardens have, in the past, insisted that I park car -caravan -awning. as per club rules....and this has caused much worry and distress to both myself and my partner. So..we arrive after a long tow, in very hot weather..hot sticky and, in the case of my beloved..very tetchy!! Warden Angie was kindness itself and immediately allayed my fears and agreed that we could park as we needed to..phew!! What a relief! We chose a quiet pitch and, immediately, Warden Mick appeared to ask if we needed any help... What a joy all of the wardens were, nothing was too much trouble and knowing that I could call on them, if needed, was a great relief. To caravan with severe disability can be very stressful for the 'carer'...I cannot praise or thank sufficiently., all of the wardens for their kind support and cheery greetings!!. They kept the site in an immaculate condition. Well done you lovely folks!! The final plus was, I got a goodbye kiss from Mick...RESULT!!!!! xxxx

Ideal for restful break away

We stayed 15 - 19 July for an extended weekend away. First time at site, but recommended by sister. We loved the site. Ideal location and for dog walks both on and off site. We will definitely be going back.

Not paying for a serviced pitch again here

We stayed here for four nights in early May. I booked a serviced pitch in January and duly arrived on the booked date at just after 12 noon. I was dismayed to find there was only one pitch left on the serviced part and this was next to the exit barrier. Surely when you pay £27.50 a night for a serviced pitch you expect something better. It was noisy particularly early in the morning with people heading for the Channel ferry. A person was also using our pitch as a short cut to the toilet block and worst of all if I put up an awning it would be right next to the service road and barrier. Who wants to sit in their awning looking at a barrier? We went to France recently to the CAMC recommended Chateau du Poinsouze and paid £14 per night with the biggest pitch we have ever had next to a lovely lake and very quiet too. I'm afraid we live in rip off Britain and nobody cares. Caravan and now Motorhome club, we deserve better.
