Top class Site Wardens

Really friendly and helpful site staff, the croissants and baguettes on the weekend are excellent. They even welcomed our temporary visitors. Great site for dog walking on the forest tracks and a large field where they can run around. Good pub a few minutes walk away, however, negotiating the main road is a bit of challenge due the level of traffic and no footpath.

Lovely ...

We really liked it here ... quiet and peaceful, in a great location and the site managers were absolutely lovely. I do agree with the previous person however. Some of the dogs on site were really noisy and one in particular was very aggressive, making going to the loos a bit like running the gauntlet! I like dogs btw ... and this definitely wasn't ALL of them on site. Although the man caught allowing his dog to foul behind his caravan rather than walking the 200 or so metres to the dog field was very red faced when caught by my husband. Perhaps there needs to be a general reminder. The play field is lovely and the walks from the site onto the Heath were great. So we will definitely be back.

Lovely site but shame about yapping dogs

Visited this site for the first time. Is in a good position for Dorset tourism but the number of noisy yapping dogs on site was a definite turn off! Being woken early morning my yapping dogs is not my idea of a peaceful holiday.

Short Stay for trial run of New Caravan

We chose this site to test our new caravan as it was close to home and glad we did. The site is very pleasant, clean and well maintained by very friendly wardens. Very dog friendly with a great dog walk on-site and nearby woods. Also handy for lots of locations like Weymouth and Poole. Will definitely be visiting again.

Another great stay

Just returned from another great stay at Hunters Moon. On arrival were warmly greated by the wardens. Who as usual were very friendly and helpful . The site is kept to a very high standard and is immaculate .We were introduced to some new assistant wardens who were also very friendly and I am sure that they will be a credit to the club. All four make a really good team and are extremely hard working . I would mark them as 12 out of ten !!!!

Great site and location

Still relatively new to the caravan world we were really pleased with this site, and set up was really easy with a lovely flat pitch which was perfect. It is right next to some great forest walks, a lovely pub about a 10 minute walk down the road and an ideal location to drive to some fabulous beaches and tourist attractions, Corfe Castle, Swanage, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Weymouth, Studland Beach, Poole and The Tank Museum were just a few we managed to visit in our 4 day stay - the dogs loved it too!! Being a later half term than other parts of the country it was relatively quiet, and think we dodged storm Doris that hit the Midlands and other parts of the country! The dog field was a lovely size and very secure which was great as we have a very playful boxer and an older stroppy one but they were able to have a good run around safely off leads. It wasn't until the end of the week that I found the gate at the top of the site for the forest walks, which would have been much safer than the road to the local, and into Wareham - wish we'd known about this sooner. Also, if it is open make sure you pay a visit to Tyneham, Dorset's 'lost' village - it is still part of the Army Ranges but access is allowed most weekends - you can google it for more information. Plenty more for us to see and do so may well be back one day - lovely part of our beautiful country.

Faultless site and good cycling.

We just spent three nights (end of February) at Hunter's Moon, and loved it. As good a site as we've ever stayed on, in all respects. We took our bikes, and were able to cycle to Wareham through Wareham Forest, and then through the town and on to the RSPB Arne bird sanctuary, Shipstal Beach and Corfe Castle without having to use busy roads. Our bikes are e-bikes which made the few hills easier, but a fit cyclist would be ok. Mind you, the return ride from Corfe to Wareham via Church Knowle and East Creech was a little Alpine! We also visited NT Kingston Lacy, which was very nice too. Wareham by the riverside was very pretty, and there are two good pubs to enjoy.

Fabulous site

Just returned after a 2 night stay at Hunters Moon caravan site. Facilities were fabulous and spotlessly clean. Although half term and site almost full I found it to be very quiet and peaceful. Great enclosed dog field where I even felt safe letting my Whippet lose in!

Midweek stay

We have just returned from a two night stay at Hunters Moon, the reception by the wardens was very friendly and professional. The site is very clean as we're the facility's. We only found out about the no power on our last day from a notice in the toilets. We had a pitch near the road but this was not really an issue as the road was only busy during the rush hours. We had a walk down to the local pub which was about a ten minute walk along the road after turning right from the site. One word of caution, there are some large lorries using this road so a walk with children would prove a challenge as there are no pavements, only grass verges. The lunch itself was really good value for money.
