Very nice site

We recently stayed at Hunters Moon over the May bank holiday weekend. Having stayed in this area numerous times over quite a few years this was our first time at Hunters moon. When ever we have tried to get in before it has been fully booked. Hunters Moon is a very nice ,very well kept site. Wardens are friendly and helpful. The dog walking area is very good. The play area looked good from passing but I cant comment as we are both a little too old for it. This area of Dorset is beautiful .Being only 50 miles or so down the road we come to this area regular and always enjoy it. Wareham itself is a nice little town and the forest is great for walking or cycling and generally being outdoors. It is possible to walk to Wareham through the forest from the rear of the site but it is quite a long way. The 'Silent Woman pub' just down the road is a nice dog friendly pub serving excellent food. I would not hesitate to recommend this area and Hunters moon is perfect for exploring it

Great Break with three dogs

WWe had a great stay at Hunters Moon. Both Wardens and Assistants were very helpful and the dogs enjoyed the great dog walking area. The site was scrupiously clean, quiet and a great place to stay. A must is walking through Wareham Forest . Will definitely be going back.

Very welcoming site

We stayed here at the end of April and found this a very welcoming site. The serviced pitches are close to the road which can get quite noisy at times. If we go again we will ask to be further away from the road. We had no problem with noisy dogs. The area around Wareham is beautiful. We are very glad we followed the Site Warden's recommendation to visit Arne RSPB Reserve. It was lovely with fantastic views across Poole harbour.

Friendly site, handy for so much to do!

Site staff were all really friendly and helpful. Lovely fresh baked goodies on Saturday and Sunday. Great spot to stay with so much to see and do along the Purbeck coast.

HUNTERS MOON STAY

We stayed on site for 5 days in APRIL 2017, Overall the site was to a good standard, The grass around our pitch had not been cut for some days before arrival and was not cut while we were there. On arrival the workings of the gate were not clearly explained and caused some confusion later. During our stay a friend staying on site with us upset the site management and instead of quietly taking him aside ,they phoned while we were out at lunch and spoilt a pleasant day out for us.(He was treated like a naughty schoolboy and not a Member of 49 years). We also felt the amount charged did not reflect the fact that we are members of the club You suggest as members we make a saving of up to £12 when staying on club sites We could have stayed on 2 Local commercial sites with more facilities for the same money. It is difficult to justify the cost of membership when we are treated with little respect and no monetary savings!!

Enjoyable stay

Enjoyable stay , friendly welcome from wardens. Third stay at this park ,excellent pitch. Site is well placed to explore Dorset . Site close to full as it was Easter but felt relaxed and quiet. Shower blocks spotless, full marks to the hard working staff .

forest trail

visited this site on the 14/3/17stayed until 17/3/17, a good standard provided as you pretty much get from all club sites, the approach road is excellent for both motorhome and car and van, situated on a main road, access and egress are very good, pitches to hedge boundary near the road can be noisy at times. Excellent for dog walking with an area provided for the your dog to stretch its legs, approximately 1 mile up the road is the entrance to the forest, which boasts a car park for cars and motorhomes, from the car park you will find excellent dog walking trails, or good walking through the forest trails. I cycled approximately 10 kilometres through the trails which are sign posted with blue arrows and are easy to follow, the trails aren't tarmac so you need a hybrid or a mountain bike to cycle them, relatively flat trail with a hard sub base of grit and compact stone. Shops are not close to this site small outlets of Tesco express and coop shops are 3 miles away, the big superstores are approximately 6 miles away, so I recommend if you have a motor home stock up on supplies before pitching at this well maintained site. overall enjoyed my stay, the weather was an added bonus.

Full Moon

We enjoyed a very pleasant pre- Easter stay here with our two children 10 & 8. The wardens were particularly lovely to them- very patient and friendly. The kids were very pleased with the play area and the site was accessible to many places of interest including Monkey World and Tolpuddle. We took a walk into Wareham through the woods which was approx 7.5 miles there and back. All pretty flat and picturesque but a fair stroll never the less. Wareham itself had plenty of eateries and a few shops to browse. Would return to explore the area more. Thank you.

Great site

Spent 3 nights as a mid week mini break. Site was very clean, wardens friendly, facilities good (as you would expect from the CMC). Idyllic. Yes, there was a yapping dog but we pitched far enough away for it not to bother us. Ideally situated for exploring and loved walking from the back gate straight into the forest. Lovely cycle rides too. We would definitely go back again. The only thing we were surprised at was the behaviour of some other campers; we saw more than one person walking across someone else's pitch to take a short cut to the toilet block. No reflection on the lovely wardens, just other campers to please respect people's pitches!
