Mmmmmm, Chose your pitch carefully

I say that in the title as I agree with Tim G. We chose a pitch close to Bere Road and it can get quite noisy especially early morning and could spoil your slumbers if you like to sleep in late. If not then chose a pitch well away from the road of which there are many. we stayed on this site earlier in the year for one night before departing for France and Cherbourg from Poole and as we were on a site remote from the road it didn't prove a problem at all. The wardens are great as is the cleanliness for the facilities. Great greeting on arrival, friendly banter and any queries quickly answered so 10/10 for that. The Silent Woman pub just down from the site is good for food and the service we experienced on a moderately busy night was swift and very polite. Access to Poole etc is good but do beware of the changing speed limits on the road to it as speed cameras are active. We noted that the Poole Pottery shop on the quay was closing down so do check beforehand on their website to not be disappointed. Plenty to do in Poole and Sandbanks and Brownsea Island are all within a day trip. Hot weather and the beaches on Studland Bay go together and access via Sandbanks and the chain ferry something little different. All in all a good site for seeing the best of Dorset.

Good site, but bring a torch!

The warden team is great, as is usual. That's out of the way, then! The site is immediately adjacent to Bere Road, and although not a major road, is still pretty busy, including a stream of hgv's from the nearby quarry. The fully serviced pitches are close to this road. However, the site is quite large, so you would be able to head to the back pitches which would be at least 200 yards from Bere Road and the traffic noise. There's a good dog walk on site. It is my opinion that the site is dangerously under-lit during the hours of darkness, so make sure you bring a torch. The office is welcoming and the warden team keep the shop well stocked with essentials. The freshly baked scones are highly recommended, as is the clotted cream! Will I return? Probably not until the site lighting is much improved.

A Good Stay

Had a good stay yet again at the site? The staff are friendly and helpful and the home made cakes, well they are fantastic. Also on a Tuesday the fish and chip van comes and they are worth the money. The only thing one thing I would complain about are the trees and the size they are getting to but thats because I'am a sun worshipper so I would like them to be cut back a little to open it up. Will be back for Christmas.

A Grear Holiday

Another good stay at a great site . The chip van that arrives on a Tuesday is fantastic which meant we didn't have to cook on our first day which was a bonus. On our travels there is a lovely place just down the road called Wareham which is a must see visit & there is a great pub down the road called The Silent Woman . I I have any criticism then it was the dogs barking all day from the travellers camp & a very poor wifi connection which to be honest is not worth the money or the hassle but apart from that it was great

First CAMC site in our campervan

A very nice site. The facilities are excellent. A good dog walking field is included in the site.\ The site staff were friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring Dorset. We would stay here again.

Hunters Moon again comes through with flying colours.

Holidayed at Hunters Moon for the past three years, this year was our longest outing of 21 nights, was able to switch pitches after the 1st night and as luck would have it back on to the pitch we have been on for the last three years...kind of feels like home. The site, it's wardens/assistant wardens and other staff are all just excellent, friendly, polite, helpful and always willing to help if/when required. The facilities are impeccable, the pitches as ever are always excellent, the small shop also works and now with the added addition of a mobile chip van on a Tuesday evenings (just be prepared for a wait as it's very popular) Thanks again Hunters Moon, the only downside to our holiday was the disgraceful service GreenFlag provided on our return journey home (posted something on this in another section) Would we recommend Hunters Moon, absolutely, first class, go on try it, you won't be dissappointed.

Unsettling start but turned out lovely

Arriving at tea time, we had to choose between pitch 41 or 113. 41 was hardstanding and covered by trees and 113 was grass but too small to accommodate our awning. We don't think that 113 should be classed as a standard pitch with awning. That is our only negative about this site. Anyway the wardens were lovely and extremely helpful and we moved to another pitch the next morning. Facilities are spotlessly clean and this is a very pleasant site, both peaceful even though there were children playing. The space for children to play is excellent too and it looks good for dogs. This was our second visit to the site as our first was 3 years ago but early in the year. We found a mans watch in the showers and my husband handed it in to the wardens, they told us the owner had claimed it too so that was good too. We will return again.

Wardens make the Holiday so restful

My Partner is seriously disabled and the only way we can holiday is in our caravan, towed by a VW Camper van, with a deal of medical kit on board. I am always wary to ask that I may be allowed to park with my sliding door of the VW outside the door of the caravan, so that if needed, I can access emergency medical kit quickly. Some wardens have, in the past, insisted that I park car -caravan -awning. as per club rules....and this has caused much worry and distress to both myself and my partner. So..we arrive after a long tow, in very hot weather..hot sticky and, in the case of my beloved..very tetchy!! Warden Angie was kindness itself and immediately allayed my fears and agreed that we could park as we needed to..phew!! What a relief! We chose a quiet pitch and, immediately, Warden Mick appeared to ask if we needed any help... What a joy all of the wardens were, nothing was too much trouble and knowing that I could call on them, if needed, was a great relief. To caravan with severe disability can be very stressful for the 'carer'...I cannot praise or thank sufficiently., all of the wardens for their kind support and cheery greetings!!. They kept the site in an immaculate condition. Well done you lovely folks!! The final plus was, I got a goodbye kiss from Mick...RESULT!!!!! xxxx

Ideal for restful break away

We stayed 15 - 19 July for an extended weekend away. First time at site, but recommended by sister. We loved the site. Ideal location and for dog walks both on and off site. We will definitely be going back.
