Location is good, ten minute drive to Wareham for food shopping and takeaways, and 30-45 minutes pleasant drive to many worthwhile locations (Poole, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Kimmerage bay etc) and closer to others (Tyneham village, Tank museum etc)
Site as usual, clean, well managed by really helpful and friendly staff, nice facilities only missing Dog wash and adequate serviced pitches really.
Overall this is well worth a visit, but I have two issues which are not minor.
Firstly the WiFi: hopeless, and frankly insulting they even charge anything for it, as it’s totally unusable even next to the aerial. This is an issue because O2 reception is really bad towards the rear of the site.
Serviced pitches: so few of them, and despite the extra costs, close to the noisy road. This is a bitter pill to swallow considering the premium nature and cost.
It’s a shame because in all other ways it’s just as good as expected!
A great return after a few months of lockdown!
We had a lovely stay for a few days to wake up the caravan from its winter slumber. A very welcome reception and Covid safe processes with all facilities except the showers open. Very clean and quiet site with great walks and countryside on the doorstep.
Thank you again and see you again sometime :)
beautifully kept site
We have just spent 10 days at this site we come most years and it never dissapoints . Its always kept clean especially this year with all the extra precautions the wardens had to take. The dog walk is a good size for exercising rover, but of course there are plenty of woodland walks, but do respect the country code. The play area is good if you have kids, and of course the beach is not far away in Swanage about 12 miles.
Quiet Site with Great Walks
A great two night stay in October, with the trees providing welcome shelter from the blustery autumnal weather, although note that the acorns will drop at all times, turning the average motorhome into a tom-tom - a minor point! The staff were brilliant and there's lots of walks nearby, including a circular walk to Wareham (nice for a bite to eat) and returning via the Sika Trail. Try out the nearby Silent Woman Inn (30 min walk) for a great meal.
Mobile signal is poor, so you may end up on the CAMC wi-fi, but at £3.50 per device per day, this is rather expensive and not a great service, you may want to consider an 'off grid' stay, if you can manage without the internet?
Well Kept and Attractive Site
We have stayed at this site several times, with the latest on 27/9. The Wardens are very efficient and welcoming. The site is very clean and tidy with the facilities both blocks being very clean throughout the day. We stayed on a Serviced Pitch which was very well kept. There are good dog walking facilities and a large field for children to play. We hope to go back next year.
Another return visit but not so sure for the future.....
We have visited this site over many years and many times each year but I find I have to put this review in as it has tainted our opinions of the site or should I say the warden, it definately spoilt the end of our stay.
Firstly the C19 advice and rules at the washblocks were good and we felt correct to keep persons safe. But there were some gatherings at night in awnings that were up to the 6 persons but no social distancing was adhered too and also the noise of loud banter was not acceptable. If this had been children or teenagers I am sure the old folks would have complained.
The incident that spoilt our break concerns the actions of the warden. If you are not aware the site backs onto a council run caravan park. A small little black dog from the council site has found a gap in the perimeter hedge/fence and visits Hunters Moon. On our last day we saw the warden throwing stones at the little dog to try and chase him away. My wife did go and see him and told him his actions were cruelty to the dog and he should stop throwing stones. He replied that the dog comes into the site all the time and that he had tied it up before until the owners had come in and collected him. Surely the easiest thing to do is to repair the hole in the hedge/fence and stop the appalling spectacle of a warden throwing stones at a little dog!
Not sure we will revisit this site again even though it is one of our favorites. As a footnote, the mobile phone signal and internet coverage for our phones is non-existant and something you should think about if visiting this site.

Our favourite site
We first visited this site last year and enjoyed it so much returned twice more, we was so disappointed to have our much looked forward to trip booked for May this year cancelled due to the closures, but eventually managed to get a booking for mid September.
As this was our first trip out this year was a little unsure what to expect on site, but needn’t have worried, the first worry was taken away as soon as we saw the familiar faces of the wardens from last year (Mick & Angie) check in was smooth and pleasant, Angie was able to answer all of our anxious questions about the Covid rules on site, despite my wife asking the same questions that I’m sure she must answer dozens of times every day. We didn’t have much interaction with the other couple, new this year I believe, but they seemed cheery and polite when they passed our way.
The facilities as always here are spotless and the band system seemed to work very well, apart from the odd morning we didn’t really have to queue at all.
Our neighbours wasn’t very nice, constantly complaining to anyone that would stop and listen to him about how he felt vindicated for having been asked to put his dog on a lead and keep his speed down on site, everyone knows the rules regarding these sort of things, when I mentioned it to Mick he said it’s a constant battle with people thinking the rules don’t mean them, but good for him for trying.
We are still exploring much of the local area, we love to walk and are certainly spoilt for choice here, Angie was great at suggesting places to go, especially loved Arne and the quiet bay at Studland near to a pub with stunning views.
Have already booked again for next year and very pleased to hear the same site team will be there to look after us again.

Nice site but, there is always a but.
I have waited a week to write this review so that i let my head rule the review rather than my heart.
My wife and I booked at the start of lockdown in March and as we are both front line workers in the NHS and Police we were so looking forward to our holiday and meeting with old friends whom we had not seen for over 18mths. As members the site was exactly as we expected well laid out, good facilities, clean and tidy, although a little out of the way but with great walks from the site. Upon our arrival my wife booked in as I called our friends to say we had arrived. We were allowed entry and quickly found our friends, and pitched up next to them as a pitch was available. My wife went to advise the red haired duty warden only to be verbally abused as she told her which pitch we had taken as unknown to us one of our friends had been chastised by the same warden for parking on the exact pitch we had taken when he had arrived against the club rules, why was my wife verbally abused as it had nothing to do with her. At first we gave her the benefit of the doubt. However as our holiday progressed we realised that this was the norm rather than the exception from two of the wardens whom we believe were partners, I cannot name them as they did not wear name badges but I can describe them the red haired warden and the clean shaven warden whom we believe were the head wardens as the other two, the blonde haired warden and the man with the goatee beard were generally pleasant and helpful. Of our neighbours six couples were victims of the sharp tongue and ignorant attitude of the same two wardens for a various number of reasons. Even under the current situation we find ourselves in there is no excuse for this attitude and gave a sour taste in the mouth to what was a great holiday and I can honestly say in all the years we have used the club never met such awful wardens. As in our professions if we dealt with people in the same manner we would have been severally disciplined as we were always trained to treat people with respect and told to treat people as we would like to be treat. Also members need to be aware that the site is adjacent to a traveller/homeless site which can be very noisy with dogs, children and motor vehicles. The road can be very noisy at times even when you are at the furthest point on the site from the road. I have never felt the need to leave a review but just feel that the wardens in question were so rude and ignorant and clearly had an attitude problem, if they do not like to deal with the membership they should not have come into the job in the first place as i am sure the training given by the club would have focused on customer care. i am aware that this will not do very much and nothing will happen as the club will blame the COVID situation as an excuse as everyone appears to do at this time and they will not be seen or spoken to but felt other members should be aware of our experiences at Hunters Moon.

Great location
Returned to this site after about 10 years. It’s in a great location for Wareham, Studland bay, Old Harry Rocks, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door & many other places. The weather was excellent & we spent all day, every day off site, walking or visiting the places mentioned. We didn’t notice any noise from the travellers site, but we were in the middle of the site. When we arrived, apart from some reserved pitches (not motor home signs) all the pitches left were on grass. This was not a problem to us as we had a fortnight on grass at Incleboro Fields club site, but the pitches left were in a dark area of trees near to the road. If the grass had been cut recently, it wouldn’t have made any difference, but long enough to wet shoes & feet on the first morning. As we were staying for a fortnight we had already decided to move pitches. The warden had said on booking in that we could..... but the lady warden wasn’t quite so happy when we decided to do it. She told me yes we could but we weren’t to go around the site asking all other caravanners if they were moving! Luckily one of the male wardens gave me a list of pitch numbers that would be vacated. We moved to a lovely sunny pitch & thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Only negative thing we could say is that the grass between pitches was very long. Toilet blocks were immaculate. Just a point to note - the super pitches are all at the entrance to the site, beside the quite noisy main road. Vans were allowed on site from before 12 noon every day.
Insensitive Wardens
Stayed here for two weeks and although site, facilities and location were very good, we found main warden and his wife to be very unfriendly and officious. While sorting caravan out after arrival, we were sharply asked to move car from a vacant pitch nearby with no please or thank you - not a cheerful start to our holiday. Other guests told us that they were also very upset by the rude attitude of the site manager and his wife. This is the first time we have had cause to complain and hope it will be the last. Following government advice we did try to keep within our own bubble by parkIng side by side with friends and family but the Caravan Club does not allow you to reserve pitches when you each arrive at different times. We have never known so many people upset by a warden’s bad attitude. Also, isn’t it about time that the Club had name badges for the wardens?
